Doorbell rings.
Elizabeth: Coming. Cameron, listen to me. I understand that you want to spend time with you friends, but I have missed you so much. I just want to spend as much time with you while I can.
Cameron: Okay, Mommy.
Nikolas: It sounds like you're going somewhere.
Elizabeth: I've just had so much going on lately -- the fire and being in the hospital.
Nikolas: Yeah, yeah, you should've stayed even longer, according to what Patrick was telling Robin.
Elizabeth: Well, things are unpredictable right now. I just wanted to spend as much time with my boys as I possibly can. I'm sure you feel the same way about Spencer.
Nikolas: Yeah.
Elizabeth: You're eager to get that surgery done so you can get back to your normal life. So, how soon?
Nikolas: What? "How soon" what?
Elizabeth: Well, when did they schedule the surgery?
Nikolas: They haven't done it yet.
Elizabeth: Well, why? What is Patrick waiting for?
Nikolas: He's waiting for me. I just -- I need some time to think about it first.
Elizabeth: Nikolas, to think about what?
Nikolas: Well, that's -- that's why I came to you. I mean, you're the closest to Emily, right, and I haven't seen -- I mean, I haven't -- I haven't been able to, like I said, feel her presence for a while.
Elizabeth: Nikolas, you have a -- a brain tumor that's going to kill you if you don't operate.
Nikolas: Yes, I know.
Elizabeth: The doctors only have a small window of time --
Nikolas: I know.
Elizabeth: And you're waiting for, what, a sign from Emily?
Nikolas: Look, I -- I don't expect you to understand.
Elizabeth: Well, I'm trying to, but it's not making sense. Nikolas, Emily’s gone. But Spencer’s here and he needs you. You can spend the rest of your life with your son. Do you know how lucky you are, how blessed?
Jason: Can you talk?
Elizabeth: No, not really.
Jason: Okay, I just -- I just ran into Lucky. He's got it in his head that I might be the one who hit Sam.
Elizabeth: What? Well, did you tell him that --
Jason: I know. The point is Lucky's looking at what Sam did with Jake and his kidnapping as a motive. So it's all the more reason you cannot say anything until I check out who else was on the road.
Elizabeth sighs.
Elizabeth: Okay, I understand.
Jason: Good.
Elizabeth: Sorry, I had to take that.
Nikolas: No, no, it's okay. Look, I want -- I want to share all this with my son, watch him grow up. I mean, I've already -- I've already missed so much with him. You know, he turns 2 in a few days and --
Elizabeth: Oh, my God.
Nikolas: Can you believe it?
Elizabeth: No.
Nikolas: I was hoping that maybe you could help me plan a little party for him?
Elizabeth: Yeah, I -- I would love that. The boys and I would love to be part of his special day.
Nikolas: What's wrong? Something wrong?
Elizabeth: Have you seen Sam?
Nikolas: No. Why?
Elizabeth: She's in the hospital.
Nikolas: What -- what happened? Is she okay?
Elizabeth: Yeah -- yeah, she's going to be fine, but there was an accident on Tuckerton Road last night. She was the victim of a hit-and-run.
Nikolas: What time did it happen?
Elizabeth: The police estimate it was somewhere between 10:00 and midnight.
Nikolas: Do they know who did it?
Elizabeth: No -- there's not a whole lot to go on. It was raining hard, so all the evidence was washed away.
Nikolas: Yes, I know. I was driving last night around that time, at that place. I had a blackout and lost that chunk of time. What if it was me?
Elizabeth: Oh, I wanted so much to tell Nikolas the truth.
Jason: But the truth is you don't even know if you're the one who hit Sam or not. It could've been Nikolas -- he told you he had a blackout.
Elizabeth: I don't know what to think. I'm just so afraid of being taken away from my kids, from you; I don't know what to do.
Jason: All right, just do me a favor and -- just go hold our son and tell him how -- how loved he is.
Elizabeth: Okay.
