September 7, 2007 Screencaps

Emily: It's not that I don't appreciate you including me in on your choice of office decor, but I'd rather hear about this mystery project that you're working on.

Nikolas: It's business. You know, I can't discuss it.

Emily: Oh, you didn't seem to have a problem discussing it with Alfred.

Nikolas: That's different.

Emily: Because you trust Alfred?

Nikolas: No, I -- I trust him, but I trust you more.

Emily: Okayay. Well, then why won't you tell me what's going on?

Nikolas: I just think it's best you don't know the details until I finalize the arrangements.

Marty: The unit we have available is approximately 1,000 square feet. Southern exposure, stunning view of the harbor -- I'm sure it'll be the perfect space for your new office, Mr. Cassadine.

Nikolas: Right, right. Well, it'll still have to meet with Emily’s approval. See, she thought the original space I picked out was actually perfect, so --

Emily: Ahem.

Marty: Once again, Sir, I'd like to apologize on behalf of the Metro Court for the mix-up. It's not our policy to release a unit once a deposit has been made.

Emily: Look, it's not your fault that Nikolas' butler decided to pass on the space.

Marty: Thanks.

Emily: I know he means well, but where Alfred got the idea that he needs to manage your life is beyond me.

Marty: Well, how did you like the unit?

Nikolas: Emily?

Emily: It's your office -- if -- if you like it, I like it.

Nikolas: Wasn't quite the answer I was looking for, which is why I'm going to need another opinion before I sign anything.

Marty: No problem. I can show you the unit anytime.

Nikolas: Thank you.

Sam: Hi.

Nikolas: Hi.

Emily: Hey.

Sam: I wasn't going to come over, but it's not like I can avoid you forever.

Emily: Why would you?

Sam: Well, you are Jason's sister and you're probably the closest thing to him, and -- and now that we are broken up, um, it would only be natural for you to take his side. I just -- I don't know. I guess I just wanted to know if you blamed me for what happened.

Emily: No, not at all. Not at all, Sam. There -- there's no point in placing blame. You and Jason were happy once and it ended. I -- I just hope that you can both move on and -- and be happy again.

Sam: Thank you. I mean, that's what I'm trying to do. Bye.

Nikolas: Bye.

Emily: Oh.

Nikolas: That was nice of you.

Emily: Yeah, I might not agree with all of the choices that Sam's made, but she's still your cousin, and, um, as long as I'm going to be part of your life, Sam's going to be a part of mine.

Nikolas: Well, thank you for understanding.

Emily: What I don't understand is why you need another opinion on this office space.

Nikolas: Because I knew that you wouldn't give me a straight answer, which is why I called Lucky -- he's on his way over here.

Emily: What about dinner? We're supposed to be at Elizabeth’s house in 20 minutes?

Nikolas: You go -- you go ahead. We'll -- we'll meet you there after we look at the space.

Emily: Hi!

Elizabeth: Hey!

Emily: I hope you like Merlot.

Elizabeth: Oh, you're sweet. I told you not to bring anything.

Emily: Why? You're cooking.

Elizabeth: Give me that.

Emily: The least I could do is bring over a bottle of wine.

Elizabeth: Thank you.

Emily: Besides, now we'll have something to do while we're waiting for Nikolas and Lucky to finish looking at the office space.

Elizabeth: I know. Why was it so important to get Lucky's input on this whole thing anyway?

Emily: Okay, I have no idea. Nikolas has been acting very mysteriously lately. I know he's up to something, but I have no idea what. Do you think you could pry it out of Lucky for me?

Elizabeth: Well, I can certainly try. Actually, it'll be nice to talk about something other than Sam for a change.

Emily: Oh, yeah? What happened?

Elizabeth: Well, she came over earlier today --

Emily: Uh-huh?

Elizabeth: And let me know -- and Lucky -- that she actually doesn't need Lucky as her bodyguard anymore.

Emily: Oh, okay. So that's a good thing, right?

Elizabeth: It was a blatant manipulation. She made this huge deal about all the danger she was in and how she wouldn't let Lucky risk himself because he has a family, all the while giving him this look of "I'm yours for the taking." I swear, if those boys hadn't been upstairs, I would've slapped her upside the head.

Emily: Elizabeth, you can't let her get to you like this.

Elizabeth: She is playing the victim to the hilt, while coming on to my husband, and the worst part is Lucky's defending her.

Emily: If you and Lucky start fighting over Sam, she's going to get exactly what she wants.

Sam: Lucky? Hey.

Lucky: Hey.

Sam: What are you doing here?

Lucky: Well, I'm supposed to meet Nikolas, but he hasn't showed up yet and he's not answering his cell.

Sam: Okay, well, that's kind of good. Do you have a few minutes to talk?

Lucky: Yeah, sure. What's going on?

Scene continues without Nikolas.

Elizabeth: For a while today, Lucky and I got back to who we are as parents, as people. We didn't fight or yell. We just played in the pool with the kids, and it reminded me that what we have is worth fighting for.

Emily: Well, then hold on to that, even when Sam's doing her best to mess things up.

Elizabeth: Yeah, but she wants to hurt me. She's after revenge and she's trying to use Lucky to get it. And let's face it -- Lucky and I are not in the best place right now.

Emily: Do you trust Lucky?

Lucky: Hey.

Elizabeth: Hey.

Lucky: Hey, you guys seen Nikolas?

Elizabeth: Wasn't he with you?

Lucky: No. I waited for him at the hotel, but he never showed up.

Emily: Did you check the office?

Lucky: And the restaurant -- didn't see him.

Emily: That's strange. I -- I was just with him at the Metro Court, and he was waiting for you in the lobby when I left.

Lucky: Well, something must've come up. I'm sure he'll be here as soon as he deals with hit.

Car stops.

Siren.
