Jax: What have you done?
Jerry: Other than get a knife in my chest?
Jax: I need an answer, Jerry.
Jerry: Well, I've given Nikolas plenty of reason to want payback.
Jax: I'm supposed to believe that after all this time, Nikolas has decided to get you back by stabbing you?
Emily: Nikolas, you can't remember what happened tonight.
Nikolas: I know, I know. Look, it's no secret that I absolutely hate Jerry Jacks. I mean, he's certainly given -- given me plenty of reasons and I know that I -- I lost that chunk of time. But I can't see myself just stabbing the man -- you know me better than that.
Nikolas: Yeah, you know the thing that I fear the most about all this is if what if I were to hurt you during one of these blackouts, right? But you said -- you said that I wasn’t capable of that, that -- that it wasn't my nature, so maybe --
Emily: Nikolas, I know that you would never hurt me.
Nikolas: It's just that when Jerry walked into our home, yet again, I -- I admit it, I snapped, I attacked him. I -- I did it. But we both know that he'll -- he'll lie for any reason. So why can't you believe that -- that he's lying when he says that I'm the man who tried to stab him to death? Unless -- unless you've seen me react that violently before during a blackout and you're just keeping it from me.
Emily: No, I would never do that.
Nikolas: Excuse me, okay?
Emily: Well, wait. Where are you going?
Nikolas: To get some answers.
Jax: Why'd you cover for Nikolas with the police?
Jerry: Oh, come on, Jax. I held the man hostage, I poisoned him. I mean, some might even think that I had it coming, including you. I'm not going to fool myself into believing you've actually forgiven me, that you actually care if I live or die.
Jax: Could you just answer the question -- why did you lie to the police?
Jerry: Oh, there's no purpose in telling the truth. It will upset Emily, as well as it would upset Jason and why would I do that now? We've been getting along so swimmingly and united against Trevor Lansing and Anthony Zacchara.
Jax: Right. It couldn't have worked out better if you'd planned it yourself.
Jerry chuckles.
Jerry: Boy, do you think I stabbed myself?
Jax: Well, you're certainly not above it, Jerry, if you thought that it worked to your benefit.
Jerry: Wouldn't be much sense in perforating my own lung, would there?
Jax sighs.
Jax: No, I guess not. Now, what about these -- these photos of Carly and I? You have any idea who could be using her cell phone to spy on us?
Jerry: Well, I know the technology exists, you know, to allow someone to hijack a cell phone to take pictures without their knowledge, you know, even download their personal information. I mean, it could be blackmail, it could be stalking, but either way, it spells trouble.
Nikolas: Hello. So tell me -- why did you lie to Emily?
Jerry: Oh. I'm not sure I follow.
Nikolas: Well, you told her that I was the one who stabbed you.
Jerry: Oh, no need for games -- it's you and I here, Cassadine, just like we were in the alley when you tried to fillet me.
Nikolas: So tell me what happened.
Jerry: What would you like to know? You came up to me and you stabbed me without so much as a threat. It's embarrassing, really. Either I misread you or I'm getting soft.
Nikolas: Well, a little less rhetoric and a little more details would be nice, thank you.
Jerry: Oh, you have nothing to worry about. I gave the police the description of a man that looks nothing like you.
Nikolas: Who was it, then?
Jerry: Oh, you know better than anyone -- you were there.
Nikolas: But I'd like to know your version -- what was said, what the knife looked like, things like that.
Jerry: You don't remember, do you?
Nikolas: You're lying. I didn't stab you.
Jerry: That's why you were asking about the side effects of the poison -- you've lost your mind, or at least lost your memory.
Emily: Hey.
Nikolas: Hi.
Emily: I'm glad you're home.
Nikolas: So I went to see Jerry.
Emily: Did he help you remember what happened in the alley?
Nikolas chuckles.
Nikolas: Look, he can't open his mouth without lying. So if he says I'm the man who stabbed him, why would I believe him -- why would you?
Emily: I know, Nikolas, but how do we explain you being on Third Street with a bloody knife in your hand right around the time Jerry was stabbed?
Nikolas: Third Street is the route I take to the launch. Maybe the knife I found was dropped by the person who actually did attack Jerry. Maybe the knife isn't even really "the knife."
Emily: Okay, there is no use speculating about things that we don't know. You're having mood swings and blackouts, and they're getting more frequent. So let's just get you some help before something irrevocable happens.
Nikolas: Okay.
Nikolas: Okay. I'll have every conceivable test run until we can figure out what's happening to me.
Emily: Oh, hey -- Nikolas? It could be temporary, okay, or something managed with medication.
Nikolas: All my life, I worried about the Cassadine blood that runs through my veins and how it could turn on me. Maybe what's wrong with me has nothing to do with the poison that Jerry gave me.
Emily: Nikolas, you're not like the other Cassadines. You're a kind, loving man, and I believe in you.
