October 10, 2007 Screencaps

Nikolas: Hi.

Emily: Hey, how was your ride?

Nikolas: Uh -- it was okay.

Emily: Mm-hmm.

Nikolas: I'm just a little -- a little distracted. I was wondering if you -- if you were going to say anything. But I saw you take the -- the burnt scrap from my shirt from the fireplace last night when you got home and --

Emily: There was blood on it, Nikolas. And Jerry was brought into G.H. last night with a stab wound.

Singer: A place that's far from

Nikolas: Is Jerry all right?

Emily: I think so. >p>Nikolas: Did he -- uh -- did he say who attacked him?

Emily: No, he was unconscious when I left the hospital.

Nikolas: Any witnesses?

Emily: Not that I know of, Nikolas, he was found in an alley off of third street. Nikolas, how did you get blood on your shirt, and why did you burn it?

Nikolas: I don't know. The last thing I remember, I'm talking to you at the hospital. And the next thing I know, I'm sitting in an alley on third street -- holding a bloody knife.

Scene continues before the knock on the door.

Mac: Jax, Carly. Jerry, this is Detective Harper. We need to ask you a few questions out the stabbing.

Jax: You know, Jerry's still pretty weak.

Mac: We'll make this quick.

Detective Harper: Mr. Jacks, did you recognize your attacker?

Emily: Well, what did you do with the knife?

Nikolas: Well, if -- at the time, I -- I kept it because this Detective came up and -- a new guy, somebody I've never met before. His name was -- I don't know -- Harper, is it?

Emily: Did he see you with the knife?

Nikolas: No, because I hid it from him.

Emily: What was Detective Harper doing there? Does he suspect anything?

Nikolas: I don't -- he was just following up on the guy who got loose at the police station. I only spoke to him for a few minutes and I walked away.

Emily: Okay, so where's the knife now?

Nikolas: I took it with me on the launch and tossed it halfway across the channel. There was blood on it, there was blood on my shirt. I wasn't hurt, so it certainly wasn't mine.

Emily: Nikolas, you burned your shirt because you thought that it might implicate you.

Nikolas: Well, I don't know what I thought, honestly. I was just acting on instinct, that's all.

Emily: You hate Jerry. You attacked him right here in this room in a blind rage.

Nikolas: I -- yeah, I know. But for all -- for all we know, the knife was laying on the ground, and I just picked it up somewhere.

Emily: If Jerry I.D.'s you as his attacker, then you could be charged with attempted murder.

Nikolas: Let's not get ahead of ourselves, okay? I mean, we're not sure that it was me. We're not positive it was me.

Emily: We need to get medical confirmation of your blackouts, okay?

Nikolas: No.

Jerry: No, no, but I can describe him. He was a few inches taller than my brother, yeah, and I think he had short, cropped hair -- blond or gray. And a mustache, I think. And he was dressed in black.

Detective Harper: That's an nishingly accurate description if the attacker was a stranger. How long did you struggle with the guy?

Jerry: Well, it's hard to say. I don't know -- long enough to prevent him from killing me.

Detective Harper: Do you know why he stabbed you?

Jerry: No, not a clue. But he didn't have the decency to stop and explain.

Jax: I checked Jerry's things. It wasn't a robbery.

Mac: Well, you know, given the number of people in this town that would like to see you dead, I'm sure the list of suspects is very long.

Jax: You know, Mac, if that's your attitude, you can just get out, because Jerry needs to rest.

Mac: We'll need a complete statement later.

Jerry: Wow. Am I hallucinating, or did you just defend me?

Jax: I just want to know who did this.

Carly: I think we should go tell Dr. Julian that Jerry's awake.

Jax: Yeah. We'll be back.

Jerry: Hmm.

Carly: All right. Thank you so much. Okay, Dr. Julian is going to call us if there's a change in Jerry's condition.

Jax: Something's not right.

Carly sighs.

Carly: What do you mean?

Jax: My brother's lying about his assailant. I'll bet money he knows exactly who stabbed him. But who's he trying to protect?

Scene continues.

Nikolas: Hey. What's going on?

Lucky sighs.

Lucky: You know what? I need a reality check on this divorce. I know -- you warned me how ugly it was going to get, but I didn't realize how ugly.

Nikolas: I'm sorry, Lucky, I can't discuss this right now, okay? I got a lot on my mind myself.

Lucky: You know what? You're right. Here I am going on and on about my stuff as usual, when you've been going through a pretty rough time.

Nikolas: Yeah. You know, I'm a little distracted right now, that's all.

Lucky: I don't blame you. When I heard Jerry got stabbed last night, I thought you kind of snapped and you took him down.

Jerry: Oh, thank goodness it's you. Any of my other former hostages would have gladly forced a pillow on my face.

Emily: And why do you assume you're safe with me?

Jerry: Well, you're too principled to commit outright murder. Although, some people pushed to their limits have been known to act in surprising ways.

Emily: No, you're right about me, Jerry. As much as I hate you and what you've done, I don't believe in paying violence back with violence.

Jerry: Well, it's a pity your boyfriend doesn't feel the same.

Emily: Well, you mean the day you and Nikolas got into a fight at Wyndemere?

Jerry: No, I mean last night when your boyfriend stabbed me without provocation.

Nikolas: Yeah, Emily mentioned that Jerry was stabbed and brought into the hospital. Did he happen to say who -- who it was that attacked him, or --

Lucky: Well, Mac and this new Detective, David Harper -- they questioned Jerry this morning. They said it was -- he was a complete stranger.

Nikolas: Oh, well, that doesn't surprise me. He certainly has his share of enemies.

Lucky: Well, it could've been a hit man for hire. The Cassadines don't have a secret stash of hit men, do they?

Nikolas: What -- what is that supposed to mean?

Lucky: I was just kidding, man.

Nikolas: Oh, right -- sorry. Well, after everything Emily and I have been through with Jerry, my humor on the subject is a little off.

Lucky: Listen, I'm sorry, man. Or you know what? I'll just check back with you tomorrow, all right?

Nikolas: Listen, listen, I'm sorry. Look, look -- I don't -- I don't mean to be short with you. I know you came here to unload about your divorce, so tell me what's going on.

Lucky: Lawyers. They're using Jake as a bargaining chip.

Nikolas: Well, you're in control of your lawyer, so if Alexis is pushing too hard, why don't you just tell her to back off?

Lucky: Well, not unless Elizabeth backs off first.

Nikolas: Look, if you -- if you start getting angry about this, Lucky, you're going to end up doing something that'll make it worse. And that'll ultimately separate you from your children, okay?

Jerry: You see, attempted murder is a serious offense. I mean, Nikolas might not get out of prison until his son's in high school.

Emily: Nikolas didn't do this, Jerry. You're lying.

Jerry: Oh, why would I?

Emily: Because you get a perverse thrill out of making people suffer, and in this case, you have something to hold over Nikolas' head.

Jerry: That's an interesting theory, but I've gotten all I needed out of Nikolas.

Emily: Whatever you've told the police, we'll disprove it.

Jerry: You see, despite Nikolas' mounting hostility, I felt unusually charitable when the police were questioning me and I covered for him.

Emily: Wait -- you're protecting Nikolas? After he supposedly stabbed you?

Jerry: That's right. I described my attacker as a tall man with blond or gray hair and a mustache.

Emily: Because that's who you saw.

Jerry: Do you want me to describe what Nikolas was wearing last night? I didn't think so.

Emily: Why are you protecting him?

Jerry: Well, you know, I owe his Aunt Alexis for providing excellent and unbiased legal represen I have to admit that I've developed quite a soft spot for you, Intern Emily. You know, you're a kindhearted soul and, I've been unjustifiably cruel to you.

Emily: What, am I supposed to thank you?

Jerry: Well, no, I think you should conserve your energy by focusing on Nikolas. You see, he came at me out of nowhere and stabbed me without provocation and it's safe to say that there's something seriously wrong with Prince Cassadine, don't you think?

Nikolas: So I just -- I just spoke with Lucky. He said that Jerry gave a description of the man who attacked him and it wasn't me.

Emily: Well, I just saw Jerry at the hospital. And he said that you were the one who attacked him in the alley.

Nikolas: Then he's lying.

Jax: I want the truth.

Jerry: All right -- Mom really does love you best.

Jax: I'm serious, Jerry.

Jerry: Huh.

Jax: Somebody hacked into Carly's cell phone and took pictures of us, okay? Just the two of us, and it was sent to the "Everyday Heroes" production office and God knows where else.

Jerry: Well, by your tone, I'm guessing you and Carly weren't playing chess at the time.

Jax: It's not funny. What do you know about this?

Jerry: Nothing.

Jax: I don't believe you.

Jerry: Oh, come -- come on. I hate to disappoint you, but I don't see much return in taking compromising pictures of my brother and his wife.

Jax: Okay, then maybe you know something about the person who did.

Jerry: Now, where would you come up with that bizarre theory?

Jax: Because I watched your face when you were talking to Mac and that Detective -- you're hiding something.

Jerry: That's true. I -- I was withholding information about the stabbing.

Jax: What is it?

Jerry: Oh, careful, Jax. You might like me a little more.

Jax: Oh, I doubt that.

Jerry: Well, you see, the person who stabbed me was not a stranger. It was Nikolas Cassadine. But that doesn't solve a technological Peeping Tom problem, does it?

Phone chirps.
