Carly: No. We've been a little distracted. We thought we lost Jax in the storm.
Jax: Jerry and I got Alexis to safety, but -- well, we wrecked the boat on the way back.
Jason: Well, did you tell the cops what's happening here?
Jax: Police aren't allowing any rescue crews out of the harbor.
Jerry coughs.
Jason: What happened to you?
Jerry: Oh, it's just an -- an old injury acting up.
Carly: Well, at least the gunmen aren't in the house, but that doesn't make much sense. If they wanted to get Anthony, why don't they just come in here and grab him?
Jason: The Zaccharas don't want to risk a formal investigation.
Nikolas: Emily!
Thunder.
Jason: What -- what happened here? Is she still breathing?
Nikolas: No, no, she's okay. She's just resting right now, Jason, she's okay.
Jason: Nikolas, listen to me. She's -- she's got no pulse, okay?

Jason: Listen to me, she's not -- she's not breathing! You need to give her to me right now --

Jerry: Oh, come on, I didn't crash this party not to protect you or to keep you away from Carly when the killers were on the loose. So why don't you go? You've done enough damage on your marriage looking after me. Go!

Jason: Nikolas had some kind of, uh, rage attack earlier, and -- and we fought.
Carly: Did you put that bruise on his face?
Jason: Look, I don't know -- I don't think so. I tied him to the chair, I took Emily down to the stables, and when I came back, Nikolas was gone. Carly, I thought -- I thought Emily was safe. I didn't even know when she came back.
Carly: I'm so sorry, Jason, I'm so sorry.
Jax: Zacchara do this?
Carly: He had to. Nikolas has a bruise on his face. Zacchara must've knocked Nikolas out and killed Emily.
Thunder.
Jason: Nikolas? You got to tell me who did this. How -- how did -- how did you get loose? You need to tell me what happened.
Carly: Jason --
Jason: You need to tell me what happened!
Carly: Jason -- Jason, stop it. Look, Nikolas is in shock, he's- he's not going to talk to you right now. You have to find Patrick or Robin and get something from them.
Jason: No, no, I'm going to -- I'm going to take care of it myself.
Jason: Elizabeth, it's me!
Elizabeth: Jason, what happened?
Jason: We -- we got to get up to the main house, Nikolas needs our help.
Elizabeth: Nikolas -- did Zacchara hurt him?
Jason: It's Emily. She -- she died.
Elizabeth: Jason, what do you mean, "Emily died"?
Jason: I -- I heard Nikolas screaming Emily's name. I went to the ballroom, and -- and he was holding her. She -- she wasn't moving, and I tried to take her away, but Nikolas wouldn't let go, but it didn't matter because Emily was already gone at that point.
Elizabeth: Jase, she probably -- she's in shock or she's unconscious, she's not dead --
Jason: She was strangled, Elizabeth. She's not breathing. There's no pulse, she's --
Elizabeth: No -- no.
Jason: Look, if you can't handle this, Nadine, will you -- will you help us, please?
Nadine: Absolutely, whatever you need.
Spinelli: I'll stay here with --
Elizabeth: What about Nikolas? Did -- did Zacchara hurt him?
Jason: No. Nikolas won't let go of Emily. Carly thinks he needs to be sedated.
Elizabeth: I can -- I can find something here.
Nadine: Are -- are you sure you don't want me to do it?
Elizabeth: No, I'll do it. Let me take care of Nikolas. Emily would want me to.

Carly: Can you carry her over here?
Jax: I don't think he's going to let her go.
Carly: Can't leave her there. Hey, Nikolas?
Nikolas: Hmm?
Carly: Can Jax help you carry Emily over to the bench?
Nikolas: Oh, no, thanks, we're fine, we're fine. She's just resting right now, we're -- we're okay.
Carly: What happened, Nikolas?
Nikolas: Hmm?
Carly: How'd you get that bruise on your face?
Nikolas: You know she wanted to cancel the ball? Or, well, at least -- at least postpone it? Because -- because I -- I haven't really been feeling that well, you know? And she was really concerned about that. But -- but I insisted.

Nikolas: Oh, Elizabeth, hi. Can you -- can you help her?
Elizabeth: I brought you some medicine.

Jax: I need to check on Jerry, he's pretty badly hurt.
Carly: I want to come with you.

Carly: I almost lost you once tonight. After all that's happened, I want to stay with you.

Elizabeth: Nikolas? Hey, it'll be easier for me to help Emily if you let go of her, okay?

Jason: What is it?
Elizabeth: It's a horse tranquilizer.
Jason: We got -- we got to do something.

Nikolas mumbles.
Jason: Let me take care of my sister, okay?

Nikolas stammers.

Jerry coughs.
Sonny: Where are you hit?
Jerry: I'm not, actually. Call it karma -- Nikolas stabbed me two weeks ago, and I think the wound has reopened. And I also think I'm bleeding internally.
Sonny: Why are you walking around?
Jerry: Well, Anthony Zacchara came after me in the entryway and I shot at him, but I ran out of ammunition, which is quite embarrassing. And Anthony seemed to be enjoying himself very much.
Kate: How can we help you?
Jerry: You can leave. While I eluded Anthony Zacchara, I'm clearly not at the top of my game, and he might show up, or he might be going down to the ballroom to admire his handiwork.
Sonny: What does that mean?
Jerry: Oh, I was with Jax and Carly and Jason, of all people, and we heard Nikolas scream Emily's name all the way from the ballroom. They left and they didn't return, which makes me believe that Emily's in a very bad way.
Nadine: Did you know Emily very well?
Spinelli: Well, I and the devoted sis-- we had a passing acquaintance, but Emily was deeply loved by Stone Cold.
Nadine: I'm sure.
Spinelli: Do not be deceived by his uncaring manner. Stone Cold is grieving for his lost little sister.
Nadine: One of the first things they teach you in medicine is to detach, or at least put your feelings on hold until you finish the job.
Spinelli: Well, that is the Stone Cold way. But a precious life has been taken tonight, and Stone Cold will not rest until Emily's killer is hunted down.
Nadine: Don't take this the wrong way. You seem like such a smart and compassionate and totally amazing guy.
Spinelli: How could I take such a welcome compliment in the wrong way?
Nadine: I just don't understand how vengeance-dude Jason can be your best friend.
Elizabeth: Nikolas, we have to take Emily now.
Nikolas: No, she needs to stay with me, please! No --
Elizabeth: Come on. We're going to go sit down in that air over there, okay? You'll be more comfortable.
Nikolas: Okay.
Sonny: She's dead?
Thunder.
Sonny: She was strangled. Do you think it was Zacchara?
Jason: Nikolas didn't say anything; Elizabeth just gave him a sedative.

Sonny: Hey -- can you tell me what happened? Was she dead when you found her?
Nikolas: She -- she was on the floor, this cord -- this cord around her neck.
Sonny: Where'd you get the bruise? What, somebody hit you?
Nikolas: I -- I don't remember.
Sonny: Did you see Zacchara?
Nikolas: Zacchara? He was here in this house? Why was he here?
Sonny: Did Zacchara hit you?
Nikolas: Where -- where is Emily? Where is she -- she?
Knock on door.
Lulu: It's Lulu!
Spinelli: Oh, thank you, gods and goddesses. Greetings, fair Lulu, and deepest gratitude that you're safe and well.
Lulu: Same to you. Where is Elizabeth?
Nadine: She -- she's up at the house with Jason.
Lulu: Why? Spinelli, what's going on?
Spinelli: There's news of the saddest nature.
Lulu: Did my dad have another heart attack?
Spinelli: No. Uh -- no, not as far as we know, but --
Lulu: Oh, is it Lucky?
Spinelli: No, fair one, um -- Emily died.
Lulu: Are you sure?
Nadine: Ja -- Jason came to get Elizabeth to help with Nikolas.
Logan: What happened to her?
Spinelli: According to Stone Cold, she was strangled.
Thunder.
Sonny: Hey -- don't look over there. Don't look over there. Everybody told me, "Leave Zacchara alone." What do I do? I provoke him. And I don't want to hear you say it isn't me because I don't want to hear any excuses.
Jason: You didn't know.
Sonny: I brought him down on every-- now he's killing people. And now Emily's dead.
Jason: Trevor's the one who lost control.
Thunder.
Sonny: Look at me. I'm sorry, okay? Emily was never supposed to get caught up in something like this.
Thunder.
Sonny: She was going to be a doctor; she was going to heal people. She was going to live a good life. All I ever wanted was for her to be safe.
Thunder.
Lulu: Nikolas loves -- loved Emily so much. Huh.
Spinelli: Elizabeth told us their story.
Lulu: Emily was always so nice to me. Even when I was little, I can't remember a time that I didn't know her. Her and Nikolas and Lucky and Elizabeth were best friends. How can Emily be gone?
Logan: Hey, you want to go back to the main house? Huh?
Nadine: Okay, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but can we all agree that taking Lulu anywhere leads to trouble?
Spinelli: You can't blame fair Lulu for being targeted by the uber-demented denizen of darkness and his legions of doom.
Logan: Spinelli, could you give it a rest, huh?
Nadine: Okay, you know what? Either show the Jackal some respect or shut the hell up.
Spinelli: Thank you, Nurse Nadine, you are most kind.
Lulu: You aren't to blame for what your father did.
Johnny: We both know that isn't true.
