Emily: Hey. Is Craig around?
Nikolas: I haven't seen him.
Emily: Yeah? Hey, well, maybe he's decided that staying in Port Charles isn't worth the risk, huh?
Nikolas: No. Then he wouldn'tave gone to the trouble of framing you for espionage.
Emily: Maybe he needs a little backup insurance.
Nikolas: Just -- I hate this. It's driving me nuts.
Emily: Nikolas, it's not as bad as when you were being poisoned. Your life isn't on the line every 24 hours, and my fear is manageable.
Nikolas: Yeah.
Emily: I can push the entire situation to the back of my mind.
Nikolas: Well, that's until he decides to use his leverage against you.
Emily: Look, Craig's cruel, but he always has a purpose. And if I no longer serve that purpose, then maybe he's really gone away.
Nikolas: It -- it would be so much simpler for him to implicate me for espionage instead of you. I mean, I'm -- I'm the one who set up his paperwork. No, he seemed -- he seemed to imply that you would be useful to him outside of the money transfer.
Emily: Right, as leverage against Jason. He doesn't want my brother hunting him down.
Nikolas: And that's okay with you?
Emily: Nikolas, I refuse to give Craig any more power in my life. Hey, I want to savor every moment with you. We're together, we survived. I want to be happy now today instead of worrying about what might go wrong in the future.
Nikolas: I can't pretend that you're not in danger here. I have to find a way to get rid of Craig once and for all.
Emily: How are you going to do that?
Nikolas: I don't -- I don't know. But the key is, is to these people who call him sometimes. I -- I don't know who they are, but he cares about them.
Nikolas: So the woman I spoke to on the phone sounded older. Right? So maybe it's his mother. And if it is, he could be -- he could be supporting her, making money transfers. I mean, I haven't -- I haven't seen anything like that, but --
Emily: Uh-huh.
Nikolas: But maybe -- maybe I just don't know --
Emily: Nikolas?
Nikolas: What?
Emily: Craig isn't home. And we have time together. We have privacy.
Nikolas: Mm-hmm.
Emily: And I've missed you so much.
Nikolas: Well, I missed you, too.
Emily: We're going to spend the rest of our lives together.
Nikolas: Yeah. And raise Spencer with me. Have kids of our own?
Emily: Mm-hmm.
Nikolas: Listen, and I promise -- I promise I'll never let anything happen to you, okay?
Emily: Okay.
Jerry: You see, no killer should have people he can't bear to lose, and I intend to exploit that weakness. You remember my little insurance?
Jason: I'm not going to let you hurt any of these people.
Jerry: Well, none of these people qualify, I'm afraid. Guess who this is. "I'm noble and brave, someone who completely loves you. No judgments, no questions asked. Who am I?" Tick, tick, tick.
Jason: Emily.
Jerry: Bravo! Excellent reasoning. You win. Sit down. Emily's fine for the moment, except that she recently opened a Swiss bank account and accepted an illegal wire transfer from a hostile nation. That means that your little sister is guilty of high crimes.
Jason: You set her up.
Jerry: That's right. You see, if I die, proof of her guilt will go to the State Department, and in this reactionary climate, that means that your little sister will end up in Guantanamo before I say "lawyer." You see, I intend to have a happy life, and if I don't, Emily will pay the price. A present. Bye-bye.
Jerry: Oh, hello.
Emily: Alfred said Jerry Jacks was waiting.
Jerry: And he's standing right in front of you. The plastic surgeon was truly gifted, but I must admit, I prefer this face, don't you?
Nikolas: So that's who was on the phone. Your mother, perhaps? Jane Jacks? I thought the voice sounded familiar. Does your brother know?
Jerry: Yes, but more importantly, Jason knows that I'm Jerry, and that Emily's up to her pretty neck in espionage. You see, it's all about risk assessment, as I told you before. Jason presents the most serious risk to my health and well-being. He understand that if I die, Emily gets arrested and held as an enemy of the state. I mean, whether she gets a trial or is given a chance to exonerate herself is debatable. In any case, it will be an unpleasant and life-altering experience. So you see, Jason will have to work overtime to keep me alive.
