Nikolas: Thank you, thank you, Dimitri. Listen, I'll ring you when I can confirm my acquisition of Stockholm Global, that it's final. And could you fax me the shipping leases? I think it'll save us a lot -- what are you doing here?
Nikolas: Hey, I thought you were spending the afternoon with your family.
Emily: Yeah -- hi.
Nikolas: Huh?
Emily: Well, I tried. I really did. It is so sad and -- and quiet in that house right now. Nikolas, I just sat there staring at my father's chair, hoping that he'd appear.
Nikolas: I'm sorry.
Emily: Yeah. So I decided that I needed to do something cheerful and useful, and I'm here to convince you to take the rest of the day off to do it with me.
Nikolas: Do -- do what?
Emily: Well, Lucky and Elizabeth are painting their kids' rooms --
Nikolas: Agh!
Emily: And they need our help.
Nikolas: Oh, God. Isn't that what professional painters are for? I mean, we -- we can hire a whole team to paint the entire house. We'll call it an engagement present or re-engagement present, a wedding gift -- whatever.
Emily: Oh, come on!
Nikolas: I can't do that.
Emily: What are -- it'll be fun.
Nikolas: Can't they just live with the colors that they already have? You remember the travesty it was to paint their apartment?
Emily: No, I remember that we laughed our heads off. We ate cold pizza and we had a wonderful time. Nikolas, look at me.
Nikolas: What?
Emily: Things have been so tense for so long between everybody, including you and me, Lucky and Elizabeth. And we found our way back, and now they are, too. Elizabeth's glowing. Nikolas, I'm serious. Lucky finally feels like he has a future. Out of all this mess, there's some joy, and I really want to share in it.
Nikolas: Oh, okay.
Emily: Yeah?
Nikolas: Yes. I just need to be back by 4:00 to make a call to St. Petersburg, that's all.
Emily: Okay. Deal.
Nikolas: Yeah?
Emily: Mm-hmm.
Nikolas: All right, come on.
The scene continues before with Lucky and Elizabeth giggling and horseplaying wthh Lulu looking on, pissed.
Lucky: Lulu, what's wrong?
Emily: Hi. We're here.
Lucky and Elizabeth: Hey!
Nikolas: Hello.
Emily: Cupcakes and paint shirts.
Elizabeth: Oh, cupcakes -- no baking?
Emily: No, I actually got these at --
Lucky: What's wrong with you?
Lulu sighs.
Lulu: Nothing. Don't worry about it.
Nikolas: All right, look -- I'm sorry. I'm hoping that you -- that you can help Lucky here. A "pink" nursery? It's a -- it's a mistake, it's a bad idea.
Lucky: Okay, this is not fair. You're ganging up on me. What did Elizabeth bribe you with?
Emily: Common sense. Pink is just so -- pink. Yeah.
Lucky: Pink. Right. Well, first off, it's a baby's room, not a nursery. Oh, I'm sorry -- you didn't recognize it because there was no nanny.
Elizabeth: Oh.
Nikolas: Oh -- no, no, no, no.
Lucky: Oh, see?
Nikolas: No casting aspersions on those of us who grew up with help. Unless -- unless you can confirm that the two of you are actually having a girl?
Lucky: That we're going to be naming Laura.
Nikolas: You need to paint the room a neutral color.
Elizabeth: Okay, Lucky's convinced we're having a girl.
Lulu: Yes, this is Lulu Spencer. I need to see her right now.
Nikolas: Hey, what are you doing?
Lucky: Hey, do you think I can get a tax write-off if I donate five cans of pink paint to charity?
Nikolas: Um -- really? I'm sorry. Well, first off, you would need to find a charity that would actually want pink paint.
Lucky: Right.
Nikolas: I'm sorry. Look, Elizabeth has her heart set on some other color -- cream or whatever -- and you need to learn that you -- you can't argue with a pregnant woman.
Lucky: Listen, do you got something against girls?
Nikolas: No, no! Look, I'm a -- I'm a proud parent of a little boy, and I can -- I can understand the virtues of a son. That's all -- that's all I'm saying.
Lucky: I would love for a little boy, but it kind of scares me.
Nikolas: Why?
Lucky: I mean, what if it turns out like me?
Nikolas: You -- what? Are you -- are you afraid that you'll have the relationship with him like the one you have with your own father? What?
Lucky: Listen, I don't want to worry about a little boy's Spencer genes battling with my Spencer genes. I mean, with a little girl, I can just, you know, treat her like a princess.
Nikolas: Right. Right -- until she becomes a teenager, at which point you'll pull your hair out on strand at a time.
Lucky: I don't know, I just -- you know, it'd be nice to have a daughter I can name Laura.
Nikolas: All right, well, I vote for that. In the meantime, there are walls that need to be primed -- that aren't pink.
Elizabeth: Hey.
Emily: Hey.
Elizabeth gasps.
Elizabeth: Is that food?
Emily: Yeah, it is.
Elizabeth: Oh, my God, is it Eli's?
Emily: Yep.
Elizabeth: You're the best.
Emily: I went while you were gone. I took the shortcut by the pier. The way you and Jason looked, I can't help wondering if you're sure about remarrying Lucky.
Elizabeth: I care about Jason and I always will. That's all.
Emily: That's a lot.
Elizabeth: Okay, look, your brother and I helped each other out when our lives were falling apart, and I'm not going to lie to and say I didn't think about what it would be like to be with him, but I realized that it wouldn't work for me -- or for him.
Emily: So you're sure about Lucky?
Elizabeth: Don't I look sure? I'm not torn or wondering if I made the right decision. My heart is with Lucky.
Emily: Okay. I'm -- I'm sorry I brought it up, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: That's okay, it's been crazy. But you know what helps me, is knowing that we have each other.
Emily: I don't know what I would've done without you guys. Listen, I have to get to the hospital.
Elizabeth: Okay. Thanks for everything.
Emily: Yeah. I'm just so happy for you.
Elizabeth: Thank you.
Emily chuckles.
Elizabeth: Okay, I love you.
Emily: Love you, too. Bye.
Emily sighs as she leaves and the scene continues with Elizabeth and Lucky.
Nikolas: Thank you, Dimitri. Yes, I have the paperwork, and I will try to get to St. Petersburg for the meeting with the investors. Ugh!
James: Nightmare Nikolas. Now we live or die together.
