Robin: What happened?

Elizabeth: You were shot.

Robin groans.

Robin: How?

Elizabeth: Those creeps robbing the hotel made you an example. No, no, no --

Robin screams.

Elizabeth: Lay down here, please? We don't know what --

Robin: Oh!

Elizabeth: You could do to your sutures, okay?

Robin groans.

Robin: How bad is it?

Elizabeth: The bullet hit an artery. If it wasn't for Patrick, you would've bled to death.

Robin: Patrick isn't here. Where is he?

Sam: You're -- you're going to have to move me because I can't sit next to this psychopath freak anymore.

James: And why is that? Is it something you said?

Mateo: It's because of these. They remind her of my brother Manuel.

Sam: His -- his -- his twin brother, a psychopath who kidnapped me and tried to rape me. They're identical down to the tattoos.

James: Well, then how alike were you to your brother?

Mateo: There was a time when we were the same in every way. But then I gave my life to the Lord, and I found peace.

James: Interesting. So, you never feel tempted by your more base instincts, hmm?

Emily: Oh. Would you mind if I checked on Robin?

James: Well, you can trade places with Lulu. She gets restless if she stays in one place for too long.

Emily: Hi. You gave us quite a scare. How are you feeling?

Robin: Oh, tight, like my stomach's being pulled.

Elizabeth: It's probably just from the duct tape. We had to use it to hold the stitches together.

Robin: Did you get the bullet out?

Elizabeth: No -- but we did repair the artery.

Emily: With a lot of help from Carly.

Robin: Carly?

Emily: Yeah. We couldn't have done it without her -- or Patrick.

Elizabeth: He's the real reason you're still alive.

James: Most men can't resist the lure of a beautiful woman. Are you sure you're not tempted?

Mateo: No. I'm too busy praying for your soul.

James: I'm afraid I'm going to have to deny your request to change partners. I think you might be able to benefit from the Father's wisdom.

Mateo: Oh!

James: Your prayers are wasted on me, Father. You, on your feet. Time to pitch in for the cause.

Nikolas: Whose cause would that be?

James: Oh, you'll have to wait and see.

Lulu: Leave him alone.

Nikolas: It's okay, Lulu. It's okay.

Lulu: Why don't you forget about the briefcase and leave before someone kills you like you deserve?

James: Will you sit down and shut up before I put a bullet through that pretty little head of yours? Thank you. Good girl. Come on.

Robin gasps.

Elizabeth: Will you please get Robin something for the pain?

Robin groans.

Elizabeth: I don't know how much more of this she can take.

Nikolas: Where are you taking me?

James: Your girlfriend's father is having some difficulties with his heart. I thought you could take his mind off his health problems. Perhaps you could tell him what you do to his daughter behind closed doors. Or does Emily leave them open so others can see?

Nikolas: Don't even say her name, you understand?

James: I would take a step back if I were you. This is your last warning. Keep that temper under control, or there won't be anything left for Emily to stitch back together. Get in.

Nikolas: Alan?

Alan: How's Robin?

Nikolas: Uh -- Emily was able to repair the artery and stop the bleeding.

Alan: With what?

Nikolas: Just some items that we collected around the hotel. Patrick Drake talked her through the operation. Emily's with her now

Alan: Will you do me a favor?

Nikolas: Yes, of course.

Alan: Will you tell my daughter that I'm -- I'm very proud of her?

Nikolas: You tell her yourself, Alan, when we all get out of here.

Elizabeth: Robin, hey --

Robin: Oh!

Elizabeth: Look at me, look at me, okay?

Robin groans.

Elizabeth: I know it hurts, but you really need to lie still.

Robin: I can't.

Elizabeth: Yes, you can.

Emily: Just keep breathing.

Robin: I can't --

Emily: Light, even breaths.

Elizabeth: Honey, you're going to be all right.

Robin: I -- agh!

Five: Shut her up.

Emily: How? She needs morphine.

Five: Does this look like a pharmacy to you?

Elizabeth: Uh -- no, there's a -- a gift shop where -- where there's medication. Can I please go get her some?

Robin: Oh!

Five: Aspirin and a few antacids are not going to help her out. Sit down.

Lulu: No, no, but alcohol will. There's -- there's a bottle right over there, and if you want her to be quiet, you need to get her drunk. Trust me, it will take the edge off.

Five: Fine. Make it quick.

Robin groans.

Lulu: Here.

Elizabeth: Thanks.

Emily: You guys, she's lost a lot of blood. Alcohol's going to dehydrate her.

Robin: I'm being held together by duct tape. I think I should take my chances. Just help me --

Elizabeth: Yes, okay.

Robin: Oh --

Emily: There you go.

Emily: Okay?

Elizabeth: How's the pain?

Robin: Pretty much lost all feeling, so either the vodka's working or my body's shutting down. Listen, if I don't make it out of here, I need you to do something --

Emily: No, don't -- don't talk like that. Nothing is going to happen to you.

Robin: I'm a doctor. I know that I could die from losing so much blood, okay?

Emily: We are not going to let you die.

Robin: I don't want you to blame yourselves. You pulled off a miracle.

Emily: Yeah, and those don't come around very often. So don't waste the time you have thinking about how this is all going to end.

Robin: You're right. I should be thinking about more important things like -- who's going to take care of Patrick when I'm gone?

Nikolas: Does that help? Does that help?

Alan: What would help is if you treated my daughter with the respect and consideration she deserves.

Nikolas: Excuse me?

Alan: Emily is obviously committed to you. She actually put her life on hold for weeks to help you find your son.

Nikolas: Emily's commitment is what -- is what made the difference. Without her, I may not have found my son. I'm not sure what you mean.

Alan: This is how you pay her back?

Nikolas: Dr. Quartermaine, I don't follow.

Alan: Emily jumped back into this relationship with both feet, and you have given her no indication whatsoever of any kind of lasting commitment.

Nikolas: I -- I never thought that Emily and I would get a second chance. I don't want to ruin what we've rebuilt by pushing her into something she's not ready for. There's plenty of time for us.

Alan: What are you talking about? We're not even guaranteed tomorrow. I don't want my daughter to be -- oh, God, I can't breathe -- jeez -- God --

Nikolas: Alan?

Alan: Oh --

Nikolas: Alan?

Alan pants.

Nikolas: We need -- we need some help in here, please. Open the door!

Emily: Patrick doesn't need a new girlfriend. He's got you.

Robin: Listen, I am counting on the both of you to make sure that he has someone to take care of him. He deserves a good woman.

Patrick: I was so determined to avoid a commitment, to hold on to my precious freedom.

Pete: So what changed?

Patrick: I met Robin. For the first time in my life, I was able to let my guard down and be myself.

Robin: Patrick doesn't trust very easily. He has -- he has a lot of walls, and he will make you work very hard to break through them. In fact, now that I think about it, he's probably going to make the next woman miserable at first. It's me that deserves to suffer. What about Carly?

Elizabeth: Listen to me. If you're trying to decide between living and staying with Patrick or dying and handing him over to Carly, please, just choose life, okay?

Robin: Okay.

Emily: Hey. How long has he been like this?

Nikolas: Just a few minutes.

Emily: His pulse is all over the place.

Nikolas: How can I help?

Emily: He needs a defibrillator to shock his heart back into its normal rhythm.

Nikolas: Okay. There's probably a portable one in the hotel somewhere, right?

Emily: There's no way they're going to let us use it.

Nikolas: Listen, this man's having a heart attack. If he doesn't get proper medical care, he will die.

Five: Well, now. Makes my job a lot easier, now, doesn't it? One less person I have to watch. Now, back off.

Door locks.
