Lucky: Alfred's right. Alfred. What, you don't answer your phone anymore?
Nikolas:: Uh -- well, I -- you know, I just got back from Switzerland, and all this work's been piling up on me, so I just --
Lucky: Yeah, high enough to bury yourself in. It's New Year’s, and we're all having to face it without Emily.
Nikolas:: Yeah. Yeah. Well, she should be here as well; she should be here right now with me. I haven't seen her all day.
Lucky: What do you mean, you haven't seen Emily all day?
Nikolas:: It's just there's traces of her all around. Clothing, handwriting, pieces of furniture, art we bought together, this. Last night, I couldn't sleep. I -- I kept tossing and -- and turning all night. And the headboard on Emily’s side was banging up against the wall, so I got up to take a look, and -- and I found this wedged in between the headboard and the wall.
Lucky: What is it?
Nikolas:: It's our book. She read it to me when I was shot and couldn't speak, and I read it to her while she had cancer. It was very special to both of us.
Lucky: Well, maybe it fell behind the -- the bed.
Nikolas:: The point is, is that there's pieces of her all throughout this house. And I feel like -- I feel like one by one, they're being taken away from me, and I'm afraid I'm going to wake up one day and all of her will be gone.
Lucky: Emily is alive -- alive in all of us who loved her. You know, she'll always be a part of you, a part of all of us. Why don't you come with me to Metro Court tonight and celebrate New Year’s with Alexis, me, and Lulu?
Nikolas:: I'm sorry, I can't, okay? Hey, Happy New Year. You have a Happy New Year.
Lucky: Yeah, you, too.
Nikolas:: Thanks.
Emily: I'm here, Nikolas. I'm right here.
