Nikolas: You're finished with continually abusing your power at this hospital. How can you reprimand Emily for taking a break?

Russell: Ms. Quartermaine is not here to socialize, and your position at the hospital really doesn't allow --

Nikolas: Well, let me make this really simple for you. If you don't leave Emily alone, I'm just going to put you on the street.

Emily: Nikolas, it's all right.

Nikolas: No, it's not all right. He can't talk to you like that.

Emily: He's doing his job.

Nikolas: Don't make excuses for him! Lay blame where it's deserved!

Emily: Stop shouting at me.

Nikolas: In my estimation, Dr. Ford has been coming down on you too harshly. However, I will reserve any future complaints for behind conference room doors. Emily would like to request a vacation.

Emily: Oh -- oh --

Nikolas: I sincerely hope that you consider it.

Russell: Certainly. Take as much time off as you'd like, and inform personnel that I have approved it. Mr. Cassadine, if my tone was brusque, I'm sorry. Good day.

Nikolas: Well, it was a bit of a struggle, but we got your vacation approved. So, when can we leave for Italy?

Emily: Nikolas, I told you. I'm -- I'm working, and I'm studying hard. I -- I might not be able to take that time off, and even if I could, I wouldn't be able to rearrange my schedule.

Nikolas: Yes, yes, you would, you can, so start rearranging.

Emily: There's also something that I need to discuss with you --

Nikolas: Damn. I was supposed to go to the hotel in 10 minutes to sign a lease for some office space. Can I meet you in the park in about 30?

Emily: Mm-hmm.

Nikolas: Okay. Listen, don't worry, okay? You're going to love watching the sun rise over the Sardinian coast. Don't worry.

Nikolas: So what did you decide -- Rome or Paris as the first stopover city before Sardinia?

Emily: Uh -- I know you were trying to do something nice for me by challenging Dr. Ford --

Nikolas: I know, I know. I'm sorry -- I'm sorry that he was so rude to you --

Emily: You completely overreacted.

Nikolas: How --

Emily: You tore into Dr. Ford, you threatened to fire him.

Nikolas: Well --

Emily: It was very disrespectful.

Nikolas: I wasn't just going to sit there and let him imply that you were being lazy. I know how hard --

Emily: He's in a position of authority, Nikolas, he's allowed to reprimand me -- in fact, it's expected.

Nikolas: But the point is, is that the man backed off and said that you could take the trip.

Emily: No, he did what you wanted because he's struggling to protect the hospital from a takeover, and you're one of its main benefactors.

Nikolas: You deserve -- you deserve this trip, Emily. I don't --

Emily: I don't want any special treatment.

Nikolas: What's wrong with taking time off? What's wrong with --

Emily: I told you that I wasn't sure that I could go.

Nikolas: But he just -- look, I think it's great -- I think it's great that you're so responsible about your studies, but if you just take this trip with me, you'll see in the end that it's the right thing to do.

Emily: You assumed that since you wanted to go, you could talk me into it, but ultimately it's -- it's my decision.

Nikolas: All right. Dr. Ford said you could do it. The path has been cleared. What do you want to do? You want to go?

Emily: Honestly, Nikolas, it's a bad time for me right now, I have so much work. Maybe we could go later in the -- in the year.

Nikolas: Yeah.

Emily: I hope you're not angry.

Nikolas: No -- no, I'm flexible, we can go another time. It'll be okay, we'll go another time.
