Alexis: Don't look so grim, it could be worse. As soon as I figure out how, I'll let you know.

Ric: I was actually enjoying the silent moment, you know?

Alexis: Hmm.

Ric: They're so rare with you.

Alexis: You take potshots when I'm down -- nice. Go get Sam and Nikolas. You should probably bring them in here now.

Ric: You ready for that?

Alexis: It's not going away.

Ric: Guys?

Nikolas: What did the oncologist say?

Sam: Yeah, are you strong enough to start treatment?

Alexis: Dr. Trent thinks that I should begin the chemo within the week.

Sam: Well, that's -- that's great. I mean, it's really great. That means you're beating the pneumonia, yeah?

Ric: Yeah, well, Alexis is still very weak and there are risks.

Alexis: I think the real issue is whether I'm going to agree to the chemo at all.

Nikolas: This shouldn't even be up for debate. You have to have chemo.

Alexis: I don't have to do anything except pay taxes and die.

Nikolas: Oh, don't -- don't be --

Sam: Hey, hey, no. The point is not to die and chemo's going to help you stay alive.

Alexis: Unless it kills me before the cancer does.

Ric: Look, Dr. Trent made it very clear -- chemo would improve your chances of beating the cancer.

Alexis: It's going to poison everything in my system, including all the healthy cells that I have left. I'm going to be puking over the side of a bucket and my bald head is going to be hanging over the side of a bed because I'll be too weak to get out.

Nikolas: No -- no one's saying that it's going to be pleasant. But right now, chemo is the only option we've got. And at the end of the day, whatever treatment keeps you alive is the one you need to take.

Alexis: Well, that's easy to say when you're strong and healthy and have a big, nice head of hair.

Sam: Hey. Come on, hair grows back, and sometimes better -- so I've heard. And we can do really cool things with wigs and hats, and I think Molly and Kristina will be able to grow from this experience.

Alexis: Gee, that sounds like a lot of fun.

Ric: I don't understand. Why would you willingly refuse a regimen of treatment that could ultimately save your life?

Alexis: Because I'm tired of this. Because I'm tired of feeling like this. I'm tired of missing what's left of my life, being so weak that I'm not able to participate in it. I just lost a week of it d to this medically induced coma. There are other ways to fight cancer. There's plenty of people that have cancer and get over it without chemo. There are alternatives, and I just want to figure out which one is right for me.

Lucky: I'm sorry to bother you, especially if you're with Alexis.

Nikolas: It's fine. What do you need?

Lucky: A ride.

Nikolas: Where are you going?

Lucky: I'm checking into rehab tonight.

Lucky: Elizabeth said that she won't be waiting when I get out of rehab.

Nikolas: Just give her some time. She's been through a lot. But it won't be easy for her to believe in you again.

Lucky: Well, I have a lot to make up for and I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I won't make the same mistake my father did. I will not drift away from my family and I will no let my child grow up without a father. I've been to hell. For my baby's sake, I'm going to find my way back.
