October 24, 2006 Screencaps

Emily: Colleen worked for five different families since she became a nanny. Listen to me. Two of the men she worked for died, and the third disappeared without a trace. What can you say about that?

Nikolas: Well, where -- where did you get this information?

Emily: Stan. He's Sonny and Jason’s computer guy.

Nikolas: Oh.

Emily: He's this technological genius. He'd have no reason to lie to me.

Nikolas: I'm not -- I'm not saying that he's lying to you, but he may not know if it's false information planted by Helena for me to find.

Emily: Why -- why would Helena bother?

Nikolas: For the same reason she probably poisoned Alfred or tampered with my saddle -- to isolate me from the people I trust so she can replace them with her own choices. Now, so far, Colleen has refused to be intimidated by Helena. I believe she probably just saved my life. Why would you believe Helena over anyone?

Emily: Because Colleen's story doesn't make sense. Helena wants to manipulate you, not -- not smother you while you're in bed.

Nikolas: Why are you so determined to think the worst of Colleen?

Nikolas: You've been looking at Colleen funny since day one. You know, it feels like this dislike you have for her is based on --

Emily: No, no, no, do -- do not say "jealousy."

Nikolas: I -- I wasn't going to. What I was going to say was "intuition," which I normally trust with you, but I -- I really think you're way off on this one.

Emily: No, it's not intuition to add up all the facts. Look at everything that's happened.

Nikolas: Yeah, exactly. Someone may have tried to kill Alfred, drugged me, cut my saddle, and Colleen mentioned your fall on the -- on the stairs, which, in retrospect, even that seems suspicious. But I don't think Colleen would go to such lengths over a crush when Helena has far more to gain.

Emily: All right, just keep your guard up. People go to extremes to get what they want, and I do think that Colleen wants you.

Nikolas: I -- I just want to speak to her about this --

Emily: No! Don't! If -- if I'm right, you're going to be setting yourself up as a target.

Nikolas: What do you think I'm going to say to her? "Hey, Colleen, you ever done away with one of your employers?" No, I'll be careful. But I don't think you should be there. There's far too much tension between the two of you right now.

Emily: Yeah, I know. I -- I agree. Okay, I'm going to go get Colleen.

Nikolas: Emily, Emily -- thank you for caring enough to do this.

Emily: You know, sometimes you're irresistible -- apparently to Colleen as well as to me.

Nikolas: Bye.

Emily sighs as the her phone rings.

Emily: Hello?

Helena: Hello, my dear.

Emily: I have nothing to say to you.

Helena: Well, that's fine. I'll do the talking. I know this won't come as a surprise to you, but Nikolas' life is in danger.

Helena: It was wise of you to come alone.

Emily: Considering how many times you've tried to harm me, I'm either foolish or desperate.

Helena: Well, you're safe with me, Emily. Colleen is an evil in my grandson's house. No one is safe there.

Emily: What are you getting at?

Helena: I'm responsible. I got Colleen hired as Spencer’s nanny.

Nikolas: Ahem. So I was going over some papers and came across your references he and realized I still have a few questions.

Colleen: You want to know what happened to three of the men I worked for.

Nikolas: So it's true?

Colleen: I'm afraid so. As far as I know, all three are dead.

Helena: Well, I wanted someone I could trust to watch over my great-grandson, someone who would make certain that he was properly cared for.

Emily: So what was in it for you, Helena?

Helena: Well, Colleen was supposed to help Nikolas feel more kindly toward me so that I could be part of Spencer’s life.

Emily: And so you could start controlling Nikolas again.

Helena: I supplied Colleen with all of the information that she needed so that Nikolas could make a firm decision that she was the perfect nanny.

Emily: So you knew about her background, about her previous jobs?

Helena: Yes. And the wretch was supposed to be grateful -- and now look.

Emily: So she turned on you like she turned on everyone else she worked for, and now she's in love with Nikolas.

Helena: Yes. And I'm afraid of what she will do when he doesn't return her feelings. She's dangerous, Emily. We've got --

Man: Mrs. Cassadine? Why don't you come along with us?

Helena: Oh, not again.

Man: Make it easier on yourself and come quietly.

Helena: Emily -- Emily, you know what this means. This means that there's not going to be anyone -- anyone to stop Colleen

Emily: No, I'll take care of it. I'm going to call Nikolas; I'm going to straighten this out.

Helena: Don't worry about me. No, make sure that Nikolas understands that that woman will turn on him. He's going to end up just like the others. Emily, please do this for me.

Colleen: I hoped you'd never find this out.

Nikolas: Well, there's certainly no justification for lying to gain employment. I mean, this is critical information that the agency should not have missed. Colleen, two of your former employers died, and one is missing.

Colleen: I know it looks like I had something to do with these horrible tragedies. Three families were left fatherless. Three men that I worked for died too young.

Nikolas: So you're saying that it's just a coincidence? You had nothing to do with it?

Colleen: It's a matter of public record. The events are documented.

Nikolas: Why are you just now telling me this?

Colleen: I probably should've been upfront about it, but I real wanted this job, and I was afraid what you'd think. It's obvious -- bad luck follows me around. I'll go pack my bags, but I want you to know that I really loved working for you. And I'll miss Spencer so much. Thank you for the opportunity.

Nikolas: Just wait, wait. Don't go.

Colleen: Thank you for your kindness and your understanding. I knew you were a decent man.

Nikolas: I try to be fair.

Colleen: You won't regret it. Spencer will always be my top priority. I'll make sure your grandmother never comes near him.

Emily: Already taken care of. When did you arrange for Helena to be committed?

Nikolas: Uh -- I signed the papers a few days ago. I was just waiting for her to slip up, and thanks to Colleen, she did just that. How did you find that out?

Emily: I'd like to speak to Nikolas privately.

Colleen: Of course. Um -- I'm sorry about the upset. T Nikolas and I have talked about my former jobs, and he's been very gracious about all of it.

Emily: What? You can't be serious.

Nikolas: It all makes sense once you understand.

Emily: Colleen is dangerous.

Nikolas: And how do you know this?

Emily: I saw Helena on the docks.

Nikolas: Ah.

Emily: She told me everything, including the fact that she's positive that you're going to end up like every other man Colleen has worked for.

Nikolas: Emily, Helena is a liar and you know that.

Emily: I have never seen her this worried for you.

Nikolas: And I've never seen you this gullible.

Emily: Me?

Nikolas: Yeah.

Emily: You're the one willing to believe everything that your nanny says despite the fact that there's been one terrible incident after another.

Nikolas: Helena tried to kill you; Colleen did not. Colleen is loyal and protective of Spencer. Until she shows me that she's untrustworthy, I have no reason to fire her. Otherwise, I'd be playing right into Helena’s hands.
