October 5, 2006 Screencaps

Nikolas: So we're using this as a temporary tack room while the renovations are being completed.

Alfred: I'll speak with the contractor in the morning about when we can expect the work to be finished.

Nikolas: You were just released from the hospital. I don't want you to push yourself.

Alfred: I'm perfectly capable of supervising your affairs.

Nikolas: Alfred, you had a heart attack. You should be in bed resting, not wandering around a construction site.

Alfred: I came down here to speak with you about a private matter.

Nikolas: Is there a problem?

Alfred: In a manner of speaking. My collapse wasn’t due to a heart attack. I believe someone was trying to kill me.

Alfred: I was given a full battery of tests during my stay in the hospital. Dr. Quartermaine found no clinical evidence of a heart condition.

Nikolas: Was there any indication of foul play?

Alfred: Not a trace. However, I'm certain the cause of my collapse was homicidal rather than pathological. I eat a well-balanced diet, I walk briskly around the island twice a day, and come from an extremely healthy stock that hasn't experienced so much as a clogged artery in three generations.

Nikolas: But why would anyone want to kill you?

Alfred: It's merely conjecture on my part, Sir, but I'm assuming it has something to do with my service to you.

Emily: Hi. I don't mean to interrupt. My mother told me that she was releasing you from the hospital, and I just wanted to stop by and see how you were feeling.

Alfred: That's very considerate. However, it may not be wise, under the circumstances.

Nikolas: Alfred has reason to believe that his heart attack was induced.

Emily: You think someone poisoned you?

Alfred: Possibly to gain access to Mr. Cassadine.

Emily: Who would do something like that?

Nikolas: Oh, I think it's quite obvious. There's only one person that lethal -- my grandmother.

Emily: Why would Helena want to kill Alfred? He's not a threat to her or to anyone else.

Nikolas: He has direct access to the Cassadine heir. If he were to meet an untimely death, she could replace him with one of her own people. If she were successful in doing that, she'd have a spy in the house.

Emily: Okay, what if it's not Helena?

Nikolas: My grandmother's the only person that I know who would do something with such careless disregard for human life.

Alfred: Miss Emily has a point, Sir. It would be remiss of us not to consider all viable suspects.

Colleen: Nikolas! Nikolas, thank God you're here.

Nikolas: What? What is it?

Colleen: Your grandmother.

Nikolas: What about her? Did you see her?

Colleen: In the park -- she wanted to hold the baby. I didn't know what to do. I just picked him up and ran back to the launch --

Nikolas: All right, all right, where's Spencer now?

Colleen: He's in his room, Petra’s there with him.

Nikolas: Okay. There you have it -- my grandmother's still in Port Charles. We shouldn't even waste our time with other suspects. She's the only one who could've done this to you.

Colleen: Done what?

Emily: Alfred didn't have a heart attack. Helena may have poisoned him.

Colleen: Poisoned?

Nikolas: Yes. My grandmother seems to be getting bolder these days. No one should go anywhere by themselves.

Emily: Wait. I -- I was picked to attend a medical conference in Greece. I'm supposed to be gone for two weeks.

Nikolas: I should go with you. If Helena finds out that you're alone in Greece, she could go after you next.

Emily: Assuming Helena is the one who poisoned Alfred.

Nikolas: Emily, you know better than anyone how dangerous my grandmother can be. I'd feel better if you didn't take any unnecessary risks while you're there. You can stay at my family's house in Athens.

Emily: You know, I'm -- I'm going to be in -- in Greece for work. I -- I don't think I'm going to have much free time.

Nikolas: That's okay. While you're attending the seminar, Alfred can recuperate in the sun, and Colleen can help me show Spencer his homeland.

Alfred: It sounds quite pleasant, Sir. However, I'm not permitted to fly for a few weeks.

Colleen: I can't go, either.

Nikolas: Why not?

Colleen: I don't feel comfortable leaving Alfred alone. He just got out of the hospital. I would feel terrible if something happened to him while we were in Greece.

Nikolas: What if something happened to you? Helena's already come after you once today. Who's to say she won't try again?

Colleen: I'm more concerned for Spencer’s safety. I'd feel much better knowing he was as far away from that woman as possible.

Alfred: As would I, Sir.

Nikolas: Well, wasn't the idea here to protect ourselves by -- by staying together?

Colleen: Alfred and I will be fine. You should take Spencer to Greece. It will give you a chance to show him where his family is from, and once he's gone to bed, you can spend some time alone with Emily -- when she's not in her seminar, of course. I -- I realize I may be crossing a line, but this could be the perfect opportunity for you and Nikolas to reconnect.

Nikolas: Would you excuse us for a moment?

Emily: Ahem.

Alfred: What are you up to now?

Nikolas: I apologize for Colleen. She seems to have taken a page from Alfred’s book.

Emily: It's all right.

Nikolas: No, no, it's not. She put you on the spot, and -- and so did I. Don't feel obligated to change your plans.

Emily: I don’t.

Nikolas: So does that mean you want me to go to Greece?

Emily: Um -- it's not that simple.

Emily: I'm glad that we're in a place where we can be friends again, but I -- I don't want to rush into anything. I love spending time with you and Spencer, but going away together is --

Nikolas: Too complicated?

Emily: Yeah, for a lot of reasons. But that shouldn't stop you from taking Spencer to Greece on your own. And I think it would be good if the two of you went away for a while.

Nikolas: What about you?

Emily: I'll fly to Athens and attend my medical conference, and if I have some free time, then I'll join you and Spencer for dinner.

Emily chuckles.

Nikolas: And I'm sure Alfred will have the menu already planned out.

Emily: Yeah.

Sheba neighs.

Alfred: I've notified the staff at your Athens house that you and Master Spencer will arrive on the seventh.

Nikolas: Okay. Thank you for handling that. I'm going to take Sheba around the perimeter here and see if there's any sign of my grandmother's presence on the property.

Alfred: How may I assist you?

Nikolas: You can go back to the house and get some rest. I don't want you pushing your recovery any more.

Alfred: Very well, Sir. Do be careful.

Nikolas: I will. Thank you.

Sheba whinnies.

Nikolas: All right, I'm coming.
