Nikolas: All right, what if Lucky manages to get through this? What if he comes home clean and committed to staying that way? What if he works the program and he looks and acts like the man you married, the man you've loved most of your life? Could you take him back?
Elizabeth: If Lucky gets sober, does that give him, like, a free pass for everything that's happened -- all the lies and the accusations towards me -- because I'm having a really hard time erasing all those memories from my mind.
Nikolas: But that doesn't answer my question. Does the hurt outweigh the good; does it outweigh the commitment that you made to each other? Could you take him back, or is it too late?
Elizabeth: Lucky keeps telling me that he loves me. But the man I was in love with disappeared months ago. So as far as I'm concerned, my marriage is over, and this baby doesn't change anything.
Nikolas: I understand that you're hurt and you need to protect yourself and --
Elizabeth: Not just myself, my children.
Nikolas: Elizabeth, Lucky loves Cameron, and he's the father of the child that you're carrying. I mean, if you're here waiting for him when he gets out of rehab, he'll have his family. Don't you think that would be a huge help?
Elizabeth: I have sent Cameron away and put this unborn baby at risk trying to help Lucky. I have neglected my job, my friends, Cameron. I have put myself in the line of fire trying to help Lucky. I have no more help left to give.
Nikolas: He's in detox because he loves you.
Elizabeth: Oh. I know this sounds cold, but I have got to take myself off Lucky's roller coaster.
Nikolas: What -- what am I supposed to say to him? Huh? How do I tell my brother that everything he's going through right now won't make a difference?
Emily: Cocktail hour's been over for a while.
Edward: Why aren't you at the hospital?
Emily: My shift is over.
Edward: Yeah? Monica tells me you've been getting careless about answering your pages.
Emily: I've got my pager right here, don't you worry.
Edward: What happened? You used to be the responsible one.
Emily: Grandfather, you never drink this way. What is wrong with you?
Edward: E.L.Q. may be facing a major class-action lawsuit. Mm-hmm. I've tried to contain it, but that Enduro scandal may break at any second. And we -- we brought it on ourselves. Hey, hey, hey -- I saw that. Buddy, if you want your tip, you keep them coming.
Emily: Let's go home. Come on.
Edward: I could've fired that bartender once. I owned this town! My hotel was right here. I studied all the potential and I invested wisely, and I turn my back for an instant, and it all went up in flames. Oh, what a waste, what destruction, and -- and what have we learned? Skye's gone. I may never have a chance to see her child. And, of course, Dillon’s child no longer exists.
Emily: Lulu's pregnancy was terminated in the first trimester.
Edward: You know, that -- that baby of -- of Dillon’s could've had the savvy of a Spencer and the style of a Quartermaine -- uh-huh -- and Lila’s eyes.
Emily: Well, there's no point in thinking about what might've been, huh?
Edward: Oh? What fool told you that?
Emily: You did.
Edward: Why on earth would you listen to me? My company put out a defective product on the market, and little Lulu is going to have to carry the weight of her decision for the rest of her life.
Emily: Lulu is going to be all right.
Edward: You don't know that. You don't know about Skye, either. We don't even know where Skye is. We don't know whether she's had her baby or not.
Emily: We'll hear about Skye when the time is right.
Edward: Oh, this is a bunch of claptrap! You know something? Not too long ago, the Quartermaine family bowed to no one. We didn't make deals, we didn't -- we didn't make deals with -- with gangsters and hide out and everything -- look at us now. I am sitting here in someone else's bar, drinking and dreading a lawsuit that may jeopardize my entire life's work, and -- and I'm worried about -- about Skye. Oh, God, I wish that Jason had killed Lorenzo Alcazar when he had the chance.
Emily sighs.
Edward: Give me another drink.
Elizabeth: It doesn't matter how much we love Lucky or how much we try and help him. He will do anything; hurt anyone to get more pills. I don't know, maybe -- maybe 30 days in rehab will change everything, God willing. But I can't be the one to save him, neither can this child.
Nikolas: So you're really just going to give up?
Elizabeth: I'm facing the reality.
Nikolas: He needs you, Liz.
Elizabeth: Hey, I've not been the most perfect wife, but I have supported him every step of the way, and all it's done is hurt him.
Nikolas: But he's getting well now. If you could just hang on, the two of you can come out of this even stronger, no?
Elizabeth: Nikolas, things change. The Four Musketeers have grown up. I mean, look how many kids we have between the two of us -- 2 1/2, almost three? And we've had marriages and affairs and heartache and divorce. And how many divorces -- two, three, four? I've lost count.
Nikolas: Okay, all right. I'll back off.
Elizabeth: Thank you. I still love him, and I probably always will.
Nikolas: So then there's hope.
Elizabeth: I realize the love I have for him isn't healthy for either one of us.
Nikolas: So, has all this research finally brought you to your senses?
Alexis: I take it you're here to pick up the last part of our conversation?
Nikolas: I told you it wasn't over.
Alexis: Oh. There's other options other than chemotherapy.
Nikolas: Then give me a better one.
Alexis: I'm working on it. What happened with the other family crisis you had?
Nikolas: You're changing the subject.
Alexis: Yes, I am.
Nikolas: Okay, I took Lucky to rehab.
Alexis:: Rehab?
Nikolas: You've been too sick to deal with what's been going on. Anyway, Lucky was in a lot of pain after the incident with Manny on the docks. He started taking pills so he could get back to work and he got hooked.
Alexis: Was he taking pills the night Manny went off the roof?
Nikolas: Probably.
Alexis: I made him a hero.
Nikolas: Yeah, well, whatever happened on the roof that night, Lucky's been in trouble for a long time and finally hit rock bottom a few days ago.
Alexis: What happened?
Nikolas: He set Jason up on a drug bust.
Alexis: Well, that's stupid -- Jason doesn't deal in drugs.
Nikolas: Anyway, he took a wild shot at Jason and almost hit Elizabeth.
Alexis: Was she hurt?
Nikolas: No, but he was -- he was delirious, he was out of control, he -- he thought that the bust would somehow get him his job back.
Alexis: Lucky was fired?
Nikolas: Yes.
Alexis: Boy, I missed a lot.
Nikolas: You'll miss everything if you don't follow your doctor's advice.
Alexis: Nice segue.
Nikolas: Thank you. I'm sorry, I'm just -- I'm just trying to understand how you're thinking about this. I mean, I don't know, is it a Cassadine thing -- do you want to die?
Alexis: No. I want to live. That's why I'm so afraid of the chemo, because I'm afraid that the chemo's going to kill me before the cancer does.
Alexis: Look, I don't have any control over what's happening to my body. Hell, I don't have any control of what's happening outside of my body. The only thing that I can seem to control right now is what's going on in my mind, and I'm trying to use it, but you all seem to think the cancer is compromising my intelligence, as well, and I can't make a rational decision.
Nikolas: Well, can't you at least understand our concern?
Alexis: There are cancer patients who have survived without chemotherapy.
Nikolas: But what are the odds?
Alexis: They're not impressive.
Nikolas: No.
Alexis: But the odds having lung cancer and having chemo are not impressive, either, and if that's the case, I don't want to spend the rest of my days bald and throwing up, and I don't want to subject my children to it.
Nikolas: Your children are fine.
Alexis: My children are not fine. Do you know that Kristina was in here trying to wake me up from a medically induced coma?
Nikolas: Yeah. Sam told me.
Alexis: Did she tell you that Kristina is frantic? How do you think she's going to feel when she watches me go through chemo?
Nikolas: Don't you think she'll feel worse watching her mother die?
Alexis: I'm not planning on dying.
Nikolas: But you don't have any control over that, Alexis, especially if you give up your best option to survive.
Alexis: No, I just -- I just need someone to support me here. That's all I need is someone to support me.
Nikolas: Growing up, I -- I depended on you to be sane in all the Cassadine madness, my voice of reason. Now, I'm asking you, please allow me to be your voice of reason right now, please.
Alexis: I'm listening.
Nikolas: It makes absolutely no sense for you to refuse chemotherapy.
Alexis: Oh.
Nikolas: It's not fair to your children. They need you, and I don't understand why you're not doing everything you can to stay with them.
Alexis: I am doing everything I can.
Nikolas: What?
Alexis: I'm reading everything I can. I'm researching everything I can. I'm doing the best that I can, okay?
Nikolas: I'm sorry. Okay. Okay.
Alexis: You know, and while I'm doing that, Ric is just going to have to take care of the children.
Nikolas: From -- from what I understand, he's not being very supportive right now.
Alexis: He's not perfect. I know he's not perfect. But at least I know that with him, the children will be well taken care of.
Emily: Why don't I drive you home?
Edward: Look at that criminal. Why should he be having his family when I'm losing mine? Skye disappeared because of him. She was -- she was no threat, she presented no danger. All she wanted to do was to keep her child safe, just like any parent. I'm going to show that son of a bitch what I think of him.
Emily: No, you take it easy, Grandfather.
Edward: Why didn't he just leave Skye alone?
Emily: Take it easy -- sit down.
Edward: But, no --
Emily: Sit. Sit down.
Edward: Ooh.
Emily: Excuse me.
Jason: Hey.
Emily: Hey. Thanks for getting here so quickly.
Edward: I don't need to be rescued.
Jason: Hey, come on. She just wants you to get home safe. Let's go.
Edward: No, look --
Jason: Just let her -- let her take you home.
Edward: You should've -- you should've killed Alcazar when I asked you to. Skye would be home by now.
Emily: You don't want anyone killed, Grandfather.
Edward: Don't tell me what I want, young lady.
Jason: Hey, listen. I'll stay here and keep an eye on him for you, okay?
Edward: All right. You do that. Here.
Emily: Thanks.
Edward: Let's go.
Jason: Whew.
