Emily bonds with John and Nikolas at GH. Emily is invited to the shower for Nikolas but declines but then decides to go once talking to Sonny about his paranoia. The surprise baby shower begins...

Nikolas: Maybe I don't need a pediatrician. Looks like you calmed him down.
Emily: Babies cry. Don't you, little guy?
Nikolas chuckles
Emily giggles
Nikolas: He certainly looks happy right now.
Emily: Yeah. Well, John knows me, sort of. At least, he's -- he's seen me before. I used to visit him pretty regularly when he was in the hospital. But this is the first chance I've gotten to hold him. Yes. Hey, buddy.
Nikolas: Yeah. Looks like you're a natural.
Emily: You know, it's funny -- if I had held John before, I would have instantly known he was yours.
Emily: You know, I know it's easy to say after the fact, but there's something about this kid that's so familiar. It's a -- it's a spark. It's an energy. It's you.
Nikolas: You know, you look so -- I don't know -- capable. Like holding him's no big deal. For me, it's -- it's quite terrifying. You know, he's so small, I feel like if I -- if I hold him too -- too tight, I'll shatter him like glass or something.
Emily: Yeah, you're just new at this whole dad thing. You'll settle in.
Nikolas: You think so?
Emily: Yeah. Practice makes perfect. Here, take him.
Nikolas: Come on, babe.
Emily: There you go.
Nikolas: Oh.
Emily: Ok, that's right. Just support his head.
Nikolas: I know.
Emily: I can't get my arm out from under his head. Ah! There you go.
Nikolas: You know, it blows me away every time I look at him. I mean, I have a son.
Emily: I know.
Sonny: I could've done better, you know, where Courtney’s concerned. I was -- I was judgmental, I was distant. We fought about everything all the time -- A.J., Mike, Jason, Jax, Nikolas -- you name it. And now this is what it -- what it comes down to? You know, we have to make up for what Courtney and I didn't have by -- by making appearances at children's parties and memorial services because it's too late to do anything else?
Emily: Yeah, well, you know, we can't change the past. All we have to work with is now.
Sonny: Yep.
Emily: Um -- Elizabeth and Lucky invited me to John's party, but I turned them down.
Sonny: Because you're worried about me.
Emily: No. I -- I want to be with you. I still do. Staying here is fine. I told them that.
Sonny: Yeah?
Emily: Yeah.
Sonny: Ok. Then we -- you know what? We should go.
Emily: No, no, no, no. Uh --
Sonny: Come -- what are you -- what?
Emily: Are you sure?
Sonny: Oh. Because Nikolas is going to be there, hmm?
Emily: You tore that dress off of me because you had thoughts of me and Nikolas getting back together because of the baby. What happens if it triggers you again?
