Emily and Sonny discuss his condition during one of his good moments. Emily assures him that she is not going anywhere and that she is with him for the long haul. Later, Ric stops by and Sonny asks him to go buy something beautiful for Emily for him. That evening, Sonny gives Emily the dress and she goes up to put it on. He tells her that he has another surprise for her when she comes down. Emily comes down stairs in the dress and when Sonny sees it on her he yells for her to take it off immediately.
