December 6, 2006 Screencaps

Colleen: Your daddy wouldn't let me go before the holidays, although I'm sure Emily was pushing him to let me go immediately. She wants to take you away from me and I won't let that happen.

Nikolas: Colleen, I'm sorry. This won't work.

Epiphany: Mrs. Grishom in 710 is complaining that no one's bothered to do a post-op check on her.

Emily: Oh. I checked on her at 6:18 this morning and again at noon.

Epiphany: Are you calling the woman a liar?

Emily: No, I'd call her lonely. If the nurses would just take a little time to check on her --

Epiphany: Are you criticizing my staff?

Emily: I'm trying to work with you so we can do what's best for the patients.

Epiphany: You know, the only thing that I hate more than a know-it-all intern is an intern who's in love.

Emily: Excuse me?

Epiphany: Don't bother trying to deny it. Your mouth is saying all the right words, but your mind is on mr. Wonderful. Just don't let it interfere with your work.

Elizabeth: She's right, you know?

Emily: What, it's that obvious?

Elizabeth: You're glowing with happiness. I take it things are going well for you and Nikolas?

Emily: Elizabeth, we had a picnic in the stables and we talked about everything under the sun. We were open and honest, just like we used to be. Then we ended up in each other's arms --

Elizabeth: Okay, too much information, thanks. I'm really glad it's working out for you.

Emily: Hey, so, listen, we're trimming the Christmas tree at wyndemere this afternoon. Lucky's going to be there. I'd love it if you and Cameron could come.

Elizabeth: Hmm. I know you mean well, but I'm -- I don't know.

Emily: Listen, it's Spencer's first Christmas. No pressure, just fun. Cameron could help decorate.

Elizabeth: That sounds wonderful, but I'm going to pass because I just think it'd be a little awkward.

Emily: Okay, I understand. But, hey, if you change your mind, you're always welcome.

Elizabeth: Thanks. And I'm really happy for you and Nikolas. You know I've been hoping for a long time that the two of you would find your way back together. And now you have.

Nikolas: We're planning to decorate the christmas tree as a family -- Emily and my brother, as well as his wife and little boy hopefully. So --

Colleen: Oh --

Nikolas: Thanks.

Colleen: Of course. I apologize.

Nikolas: No, just -- you're just taking your usual initiative. Here's your letter of recommendation as well as your severance check. I'm sure you'll have no problem securing another position.

Colleen: Thank you. Um -- I'm sorry for the way I reacted when you first told me you were letting me go. I was caught off-guard because this has never really felt like a job to me. It's been a joy from the very first day. Spencer is a wonderful baby and I'll always feel a special connection to him.

Nikolas: That's kind of you to say.

Colleen: It's the truth.

Lucky chuckles.

Lucky: It's a nice tree.

Nikolas: Thank you.

Lucky: Um -- only one problem. It's leaning towards the fireplace.

Nikolas: Yes, I realize that. Thank you. And I'm not too proud to admit that I need help, so --

Lucky: Oh, yeah? Well, why don't you let the staff do that like you usually do?

Nikolas: Oh -- what, sit back and let everyone else do the work? Where's your holiday spirit, Lucky?

Lucky: It's a good thing you've got me for an uncle.

Nikolas: Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Get over here. I'll hold the tree, you tighten the screws.

Lucky: Well, why did you get into this whole do-it-yourself thing?

Emily: Nikolas, I found the most beautiful decorations for the fireplace.

Nikolas: Hey.

Emily: You're going to have to look at them.

Lucky: No further questions, Your Honor.

Nikolas: Let me help you with those. Hi.

Emily: What? Did I miss something?

Lucky: No. It's just good to see the two of you back together.

Nikolas: Thank you.

Emily: So, who's going to help me with the garlands?

Nikolas: I will as soon as I fix that tree.

Lucky: Well, wouldn't you two rather be alone?

Nikolas: No. I told you this was a family occasion.

Lucky: Well, who are you expecting? Grandma, Bobbie, Carly with her kids?

Nikolas: Think smaller.

Emily: I asked Elizabeth to bring cam, but she decided to stay home.

Lucky: Oh, too bad. We tease her about being bossy, but Elizabeth always knew the best place for putting decorations.

Emily: Yeah, well, we wanted you here, anyway.

Lucky: Well, good because this tree is a fire hazard and it's about to come crashing down on my nephew any minute.

Emily: Yeah, it does look a little bit like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Nikolas: Okay, okay, let's fix it.

Lucky: Oh, okay. You know what? Give me a second and tell me when you got it right.

Nikolas: I can't tell. Emily, can you --

Emily: Huh.

Nikolas: Can you tell?

Emily: Uh -- I don't know how you guys --

Lucky: Nikolas needs some help. Set him straight.

Emily: Yeah, a little --

Elizabeth: Do you need any help?

Emily: Hey!

Lucky: Can you hook that on for me, Cameron? Yay! You got it! Good job, buddy! Yowant to put on another one? How about a snowflake? Oh.

Emily: See the way Elizabeth's watching Lucky?

Nikolas: Don't -- don't push it.

Emily: Oh.

Nikolas: These things take time.

Emily: I know. I just want them to be as happy as we are.

Lucky: Hey, see that one?

Elizabeth: Wow.

Christmas music plays.

Emily: We are very talented tree-trimmers, if I do say so myself.

Nikolas: It's your very first Christmas tree, buddy. What do you think?

Lucky: Well, he thinks it's a good thing that his uncle Lucky stopped by, or we'd have a big mess on the floor.

Colleen: Lovely tree.

Nikolas: Oh, thank you. Yes, we think so, too. Don't we, buddy? Come on.

Colleen: It's time for Spencer to have his bottle.

Emily: You know, why don't you bring the bottle out here and we can just feed Spencer ourselves?

Colleen: Of course.

Emily: Okay.

Nikolas: Let's go look at the tree. Hmm. What do you think? Hey -- hey, look over here at the tree. No? Hey.

Lucky: Is it nap time?

Elizabeth: Yeah. I'd better get him home. Can you put his jacket on for me?

Lucky: Yeah, yeah.

Elizabeth: Thanks.

Lucky: Here you go, Cam. Well, thanks for coming over and letting me spend time with him. It means a lot to me. Here you go.

Elizabeth: He's been asking about you.

Lucky: Remember how we stayed up all night last year on Christmas Eve putting his tricycle together? Huh?

Elizabeth: He rides that thing every single day. He really loves it.

Lucky: I know I'm not Cam's dad the way I am to ours, but that'll never change how much I love him.

Elizabeth: Cameron had a lot of fun today -- and so did I. I'm really glad we came. Come on, monkey. You ready to go? Bye, everyone. Can you say "goodbye"?

Emily: Bye.

Nikolas: Okay, bye.

Elizabeth: Can you say "bye"?

Lucky: Elizabeth? Look where you're standing.
