Jax and Alexis are talking prior to Nikolas stopping by.
Nikolas: Hey, we're here. We just wanted to stop -- stop by.
Alexis: I'm really glad you came, because one look at this boy is what the doctor ordered. Hmm? Hey. You guys are going to be sweet to each other, aren't you? For me?
Nikolas: I don't see anything wrong with being surrounded by love right now. So I'm actually grateful that you can be here, Jax.
Jax: We're just discussing ways for Alexis to beat this thing.
Nikolas: Yeah. She will. Because she has to, right?
Alexis: Yeah.
Jax: Um -- I'll just -- I'll leave you two to visit.
Nikolas: No, you -- you really don't have to leave.
Jax: No, I -- I really should. I'll -- I'll come to the hospital later, okay? I want to see you.
Nikolas: Listen, before you -- before you leave -- if you want to --
Jax: John looks good. I'm -- I'm sorry, it's "Spencer" now, right?
Nikolas: Right, right. I wanted to honor my brother and sister. I didn't -- I didn't do it to disrespect your father in any way.
Jax: No, of course not. No, it's a -- it's a name your son should be proud of. So he's doing well?
Nikolas: Yeah, yeah. Just an earache here and there. We're just -- we're still getting to know each other.
Jax: Well --
Nikolas: Look, you can hold him if you want.
Jax: No, that's okay. I don't want to confuse him any more than I already have, you know. What I did was wrong, and --
Nikolas: Right.
Jax: You know, I should never have tried to be the boy's father.
Nikolas: Well, in the end, you told the truth, didn't you? And I'm -- I'm beginning to at least understand how difficult it must have been for you to give Spencer up, and, in a way, I respect that.
Jax: Thank you. Means a lot. I really appreciate that. And I'm glad that you and your son are doing well.
Nikolas: Thank you.
Jax: Okay. And you -- you stay positive, okay? And if -- if I don't see you before the surgery, I'll definitely be there after it.
Alexis: You swear?
Jax: I promise.
Alexis: Hmm.
Jax: Okay. Bye.
Alexis: Thank you for doing that.
Nikolas: You're welcome.
Alexis: I know that was difficult for you, but it meant a lot to him.
Nikolas: Oh -- and I meant every word of it, even the part where I said I was grateful that Jax is here. Listen, whatever makes this easier for you, Alexis, it works for me, okay? But what I want to know is, where's the rest of the family? Ric, Sam -- where are they?
Alexis: I like the fact that they have each other.
Nikolas: Yeah.
Alexis: Other people to care about them. I would hate the thought of them growing up alone and isolated, like we did.
Nikolas: They'll never be alone, Alexis, I promise you that.
Alexis: Thank you.
Nikolas: I'm just -- I'm fighting every instinct I have not to just take over right now. I know it's not my place.
Alexis: Ric isn't here, all right? He's not going to be here at the moment because he's at work, but he'll come to the hospital when I'm --
Nikolas: I -- I don't care if he's at work. He should be here, all right?
Alexis: I don't want to talk about Ric.
Sam: Hey.
Alexis: Oh. I'm sorry I snapped at you. I'm sorry.
Nikolas: It's all right.
Alexis: I have to get going.
Sam: I bought this. I -- I don't know -- I -- I thought it might make your stay in the hospital a little bit better.
Alexis: Thank you.
Alexis: That's beautiful. Thank you.
Sam: I thought I'd take a picture of -- of you and the girls, and you could put it by your bedside.
Alexis: Thanks. All my girls. Come here.
Nikolas: Oh, I'll take -- okay. Sorry.
Alexis: Whoa.
Sam: Come on, Kristina. Come on. Sit on Mommy's lap. Kristina: Do you want to bring the baby?
Alexis: Love you.
Sam: Put the baby over there.
Alexis: Okay, sweet pea.
Molly coos as Nikolas chuckles.
Nikolas: Okay? One, two -- three. Perfect.
