Upon leaving Greystone, Carly kidnaps Emily and takes her to a cabin where Nikolas is waiting. Nikolas and Emily have a heart-to-heart. Emily returns to Sonny and tells him about the events; finds out that Elizabeth was kidnapped by Manny Ruiz and Emily blames herself - decides to give Sonny up. Nikolas tries to speak to Jason about Emily but spots a file on Alexis and questions Jason about.

Emily: Whatever you're up to isn't going to work. I love Sonny; I'm not giving him up.
Carly: Don't tell me -- tell him.
Emily: You bitch.
Carly: You selfish witch! Ooh!
Nikolas: Emily -- Emily, get --
Carly: Agh!
Nikolas: Come on.
Emily: God! There's no way I'm letting you push me out of Sonny's life!
Carly: Oh, yeah? Well, you don't care about Michael and Morgan at all!
Emily: Look who's talking! You'll do anything to get your way!
Carly: Oh, my God. You think you can talk some sense into your ex-wife, before you lose everyone you claim to love!
Emily: You're so far off base!
Carly: Oh, yeah? Stay latched to Sonny -- it's a good way to get yourself killed! Why don't you tell her?
Nikolas: The only reason I came here, Carly, was because you said that Emily needed me. I had no idea you plotted an ambush, and it's not going to work. If she's happy with Sonny, then I'm all for it.
Carly: Wow, who knew the Cassadines were such good liars? Let's go, Max. Nikolas can get Emily home.
Nikolas: Emily, I'm sorry. I -- I had no idea that she was setting us up. And I want to support you, okay, I do.
Emily: Please stop telling me what you think I want to hear and tell me how you feel.
Nikolas: You believe in your relationship with Sonny and you're fighting for it despite pressure from your family and your friends. I think -- I think you've been amazingly strong. You showed courage during the shootout and dignity in the aftermath. I mean --
Emily: Yeah, I -- I had a lot of help from you.
Nikolas chuckles.
Nikolas: All I did was walk you past the reporters. I couldn't stop them from defaming you. I couldn't stop Durant from humiliating you at the police station.
Emily: I couldn't care less about Durant.
Nikolas: And Jason -- I know that you care about him, and he's made it clear that he's against you with Sonny. I -- I understand how painful that must be for you, and I -- I hope you know that you can count on me if you need someone to talk to or just need someone to confide in -- I'm always available.
Emily: I appreciate that.
Nikolas: I just want the best for you. Okay? You deserve to be happy.
Emily: Those are beautiful sentiments, Nikolas, but you've gracefully managed to avoid my question. How do you feel about all of this? You were so opposed to my being with Sonny before. Have you honestly changed your mind, or are you just saying what you think I want to hear?
Nikolas: Emily, ask me to do anything -- fly you away, sue the papers, take you to Sonny's, even lend you one of my houses for a retreat -- but please don't ask me to tell you how I feel.
Emily: You just did.
Sonny: What are you doing here? Where's Emily?
Carly: She's at a house in the middle of nowhere with Nikolas.
Sonny: You set her up to be alone with Nikolas? What'd you think was going to happen?
Carly: Best-case scenario -- they fly into each other's arms and they reunite, her so-called love for you a distant memory. But I'd settle for Nikolas explaining to that self-absorbed twit that she is devastating lives left and right over what amounts to a schoolgirl crush. That's what I would like to see happen.
Sonny: Thank you, Carly, for your nonjudgmental support.
Carly: Oh, give me a break. You and Emily are headed for a disaster. You know it. You're just choosing to ignore it, Sonny.
Sonny and Carly continue to argue.
Emily: The hardest part of my relationship with Sonny is how it's affecting the people around us. You should've seen my family this morning when they looked at the newspaper. They -- they went into orbit.
Nikolas: I know they're worried. But at the same time, your family's been known to implode when Cook serves muffins instead of croissants for breakfast.
Emily: You're right. My family is constantly in search of something to fight about. But as much as we argue, there's love underneath and I don't want to hurt them. Mom and Dad are out of their minds with fear and I can't find a way to reassure them.
Nikolas: Maybe they'll come around when they see how happy he makes you.
Emily: My dad has hated Sonny for as long as I can remember. He's never going to come around. An then there's Michael and Morgan. They've been through so much upheaval in the last few years, and here I am, upsetting their lives yet again.
Emily sighs
Nikolas: They love you.
Emily: And I love them, Nikolas, but finding out that I'm daddy's girlfriend is going to be a difficult adjustment. And then there's Jason. You know, I know he's just trying to protect me and he's not intentionally being spiteful.
Nikolas: Maybe the two of you can sit down and talk it out. You can --
Emily: No, we have, Nikolas, but Jason's angry because he thinks I'm not listening, but I am. I -- I hear all of the warnings. I even know they make sense. But when I think about giving Sonny up, I just can't. I think about how much he means to me, the connection we have, and -- Nikolas, I'm so sorry.
Nikolas: Don't apologize. I told you that you could confide in me and I meant it.
Emily: You've been wonderful. The last thing I want to do is hurt you. Besides, there's no point in discussing this. I know what I have to do.
Sonny: You ok? Carly said she stranded you with Nikolas.
Emily: I think she assumed that Nikolas would talk me into leaving you.
Sonny: Did he?
Emily: The opposite. Nikolas offered to help me in any way he could, and he didn't say a word against my relationship with you.
Sonny: I'm glad he's supporting you.
Emily: So, how did things go with Jason?
Sonny: Well, we were interrupted because Elizabeth was taken hostage by Manny.
Emily: Oh, my God. What -- what are they doing to find her?
Sonny: Jason is searching. I got all my people on it. You have nothing --
Emily: Oh, gosh, she must be so frightened. I hope to God that he isn't hurting her.
Sonny: Emily, I'm sorry about all this. You can --
Emily: No, why are you apologizing? You're not responsible for this.
Sonny: Well, Jason’s right. I mean, Manny should've been taken out a long time ago. I've just been distracted, you know.
Emily: By me.
