Nikolas: Liz, Liz? Can I have a moment with you?

Elizabeth: I have to get to work.

Nikolas: I really need to talk to you.

Elizabeth: Sorry. I really can't be late.

Nikolas: I want to help you keep your baby.

Elizabeth: Nikolas, this baby is not your problem.

Nikolas: It's not that simple, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: Yeah, it is.

Nikolas: The way -- the way Jax is acting is a reaction to what happened between me and Courtney.

Elizabeth: Do you think if you'd stayed away from Courtney that she and Jax would still be together?

Nikolas: I don't know. There's no way of knowing that.

Elizabeth: Exactly. But it's really none of your business what Jax does or does not do with this child.

Nikolas: If I would have stepped up when Lucky was dealing with all the medical bills --

Elizabeth: He didn't want you to.

Nikolas: I -- well, I could have insisted. But I didn’t. The least I could do now is cover your legal expenses.

Elizabeth: Thank you, but we will figure it out.

Nikolas: Figure -- you can't afford to take on Jax in court, you know that. And if you don't, he'll take the baby. At least with my money, it's a fair fight.

Elizabeth: Have you run any of this by Lucky?

Nikolas: No.

Elizabeth: And why is that?

Nikolas: Because he would say no.

Elizabeth: And so you expect me to go behind his back?

Nikolas: It's your baby, Elizabeth. You're -- you're free to accept my offer if you want to.

Elizabeth: I am not going to take your money so that you can feel better about everything that's happened. If you feel guilty, then that's between you and Emily or you and Courtney. My only concern right now is this child I'm carrying.

Nikolas: I never imagined that Emily and I would end up where we are right now.

Elizabeth: I know you did everything you could to help her after the rape.

Nikolas: I know. It's just she tried, too, you know?

Elizabeth: I watched her avoid you, Nikolas. She didn't handle it the best way possible, and for what it's worth, she knows it, too. But I also believe, deep down, the two of you really love each other.

Nikolas: I just -- I wish I could have done for her what Lucky did for you. You know, I wish I could have helped her heal. But, you know, Lucky didn't look exactly like your rapist, and you didn't remember it every time he touched you.

Elizabeth: Still, it was pretty difficult.

Nikolas: Yeah, I know, but Lucky was patient enough to see you through it.

Elizabeth: Bottom line, Emily was raped by a man who looks just like you, and maybe you're right; maybe she will never get past it. But there's no one to blame here, not even Courtney. You know, Emily came to me the night that you slept with Courtney and she told me how much she needed you, how much she loved you.

Nikolas: Yeah, she told me the same thing, but I had already been with Courtney.

Elizabeth: Would it have changed anything if she'd gotten to you in time?

Nikolas: You mean, would I have turned around and slept with Courtney anyway? Probably not. But would Emily and I be back together right now? I doubt that too, Elizabeth. I can't change the way I feel about Courtney, and I won't lie to Emily anymore. I refuse to.

Elizabeth: Well, there you go. I guess it's just the way it had to be.

Nikolas: I guess. I just -- I just don't want anyone else hurt by all this, ok? You and the baby shouldn't have to suffer for the choices that I made. But Jax is holding all the cards here.

Elizabeth: Well, I'm still the child's mother. I do have inherent rights.

Nikolas: But he has all the money.

Elizabeth: Well, he's offered to share custody. I think that might actually work.

Nikolas: Yeah, right, until you cross him, and then he'll drag you into court and try and take that baby from you.

Elizabeth: Or maybe not.

Nikolas: Or maybe not. But with my money, all right, there's a level playing field. You can negotiate from a position of strength. Listen to me, I want to help you fight Jax --

Jax: Hey, listen. You can have Courtney, but stay the hell out of my child's life.

Nikolas: We're having a private conversation here.

Jax: I came to you in good faith offering to share custody.

Elizabeth: I understand that.

Jax: Well, don't let Nikolas talk you into cutting me out of my child's life.

Elizabeth: That isn't what he was trying to do.

Jax: I know what I heard. Nikolas doesn't care about what's best for you or the baby. He proved that when he broke up my marriage.

Nikolas: Marriage? What -- what marriage? You were just scamming Courtney long enough to get your child.

Jax: Elizabeth, don't let him push you into a fight that we don't want.

Elizabeth: Nikolas and I have been friends for a very long time.

Jax: Then maybe you should get some new friends.

Elizabeth: Excuse me?

Jax: I think it'd be a good idea if you -- if you don't hang around Nikolas anymore.

Elizabeth: All right, that's enough.

Jax: I'm sure you understand my concerns.

Elizabeth: And I'm sure you understand mine. You are not in charge of my life.

Jax: I know that, but I have an obvious interest in how you live.

Elizabeth: Well, I live very well, thank you. And I do not need you selecting my friends.

Jax: Well, if you consider Nikolas a friend after what he's done, then perhaps --

Elizabeth: My friendships are none of your business.

Jax: We have an agreement, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: That's right, we do have an agreement. I agreed to give you and Courtney my child. You changed the terms, not me.

Jax: And I gave you a number of reasonable options. I suggest that you agree to one of them, or I will have to take you to court.

Nikolas: Go ahead, she'll fight you.

Jax: With your money, perhaps?

Nikolas: Yeah.

Jax: But understand this, Elizabeth. This is going to be an ugly battle. If I'm forced to do this, I will bury you and Lucky and anyone else who gets in my way. Now, unfortunately, my circumstances with Courtney have changed, and you don't think that I should be a single parent, but that's not for you to decide. I am not going to lose this child.

Elizabeth: Do you even care about the happiness of this baby?

Nikolas: You just want to flaunt this baby in Courtney’s face, don't you?

Jax: Stay out of this.

Elizabeth: This is a child's life we are talking about.

Jax: I know that. I know -- I understand that. This is my child's life.

Elizabeth: God, Lucky picked up on this right from the start. He said that you just wanted a trophy. Not a wife, not a child. Well, listen, Jax, you are definitely not getting this one.

Jax: Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. But like I said before, that's not your decision to make. Now, you still have the option to change your mind. If not, I'll see you in court.

Elizabeth: Oh, God, I don't believe this.

Nikolas: You can beat Jax in court. I will give you all the money and all the resources you need.

Elizabeth: I know you're trying to help. Can you just go? Please, Nikolas?

Nikolas: Is that what you want?

Elizabeth: I just need to figure out what to do next.

Nikolas: Okay.

Courtney: It was attached to the back of the divorce petition. I mean, Jax actually seemed surprised that I wouldn't sign it.

Nikolas: Well, you know, if Elizabeth’s lawyer can get that rider submitted as evidence, it could help her case. It proves that Jax has been trying to maneuver to get sole custody of the baby all along.

Courtney: Well, do you honestly believe that Elizabeth could get sole custody of the baby?

Nikolas: Who knows? But she'll have the best lawyer that money can buy.

Courtney: So then you're definitely going to help her?

Nikolas: Yeah, I mean -- yeah. I think it's the least I can do for her.

Courtney: For Elizabeth and Lucky, or for Emily?

Nikolas: Why would you ask that? Courtney Look, Jax and I were obviously not meant to be. But you and Emily -- I mean, she was the love of your life, Nikolas. Are you sure that you want to be with me?

Elizabeth: I'm really getting nervous. How are we going to beat Jax? He has a bottomless checkbook; he's practically best friends with Alexis. I'm sure she'll take on his case.

Lucky: Even if Nikolas asked her not to?

Elizabeth: At this point, she's better friends with Jax. And, anyway, it's obvious Nikolas is only getting involved because he feels guilty.

Lucky: No, I don't care what the reasons are. Even if we have to borrow money from Nikolas, we will.

Elizabeth: We -- what -- I thought you were dead set against that.

Lucky: What matters is getting Jax out of our lives without giving him the baby.

Elizabeth: I don't know, Lucky, I don't know. He loves this child. This whole thing was his idea. It is his baby. Maybe if we just give him a little time to calm down, well, I can tell him that we'll share custody.

Lucky: No, I don't want to give Jax anything.

Elizabeth: But, Lucky, it could be a reasonable arrangement.

Lucky: Listen, I want to get Jax out of our lives before he tries to take you away from me.
