Nikolas: Hey.

Emily: Hey.

Nikolas: Hi.

Emily: Didn't take you long to get here.

Nikolas: Yeah, I wanted to take you out for a bite to eat.

Emily: Oh, I'd love to, but I have a session with Dr. Winters.

Nikolas: Is that why you asked me to come? Because if it is, I can't do it. I can't pretend to be Connor, Emily. I can't watch you go through that again.

Emily: I don't expect you to be part of my session, Nikolas. I just thought that we could spend some time together afterwards, and then I got backed up here.

Nikolas: Okay.

Emily: Honestly, I couldn't ask you to role-play Connor again. You've done enough.

Nikolas: Too much. I'm the one who pushed you into it.

Emily: I know that it was hard on you to put yourself in Connor’s place and say all of the horrible things that he said to me, but I promise you, Nikolas, it helped. It was like I got to confront the man who attacked me. I'm starting to feel as if I don't have to be defined by the worst thing that's ever happened to me. It gave me hope.

Nikolas: Good. That's all I wanted.

Emily: What you did took so much courage. It made me want to be braver and stronger for you. I won't let it all be for nothing. Can you wait here for me?

Nikolas: Yeah, yeah, I can wait.

Emily: Okay.

Elizabeth: So Lucky went in front of the police review board today. He's hoping with all the new information about Helena he might get reinstated.

Nikolas: Okay. So far, only good news.

Elizabeth: He wants me to move in with him.

Nikolas: Okay. So what's the problem?

Elizabeth: I love Lucky, and I know he loves me.

Nikolas: Okay, so what's the problem?

Elizabeth: It's just going to be a huge adjustment, more than Lucky realizes, and I don't think he realizes what he's getting into.

Nikolas: Okay, so I think you're real clear about what's at stake for everyone else. But the dilemma is, what do you want to do?

Elizabeth: Whatever I decide, I need to consider my little boy.

Nikolas: I always figured if you were happy, Cameron’s happy.

Elizabeth: Yeah. And this would be the closest thing to a traditional family for Cameron.

Nikolas: Except?

Elizabeth: I don't know what happens next.

Nikolas: Well, what do you want to happen?

Elizabeth: I don't know. I'm not saying I want to rush into marriage, but I don't think living together is the final step to anything.

Nikolas: Mm-hmm.

Elizabeth: You know, it should be the first step to something bigger.

Nikolas: Right, well, you know, what does Lucky say about marriage?

Elizabeth: We've not even discussed marriage.

Nikolas: Look, Liz, I love my brother, okay, and I love you with my brother. But marriage, you know, it's a huge leap. And you got to take it head-on day in and day out for the rest of your lives, no matter what they throw at you.

Elizabeth: I know. I tried it once before, remember? Turns out it's not so easy.

Nikolas: Well, sometimes you got to learn the hard way. I mean, you go into a marriage thinking that it's unbreakable, that nothing can ever change how you feel about each other, but sometimes things just happen.

Elizabeth: Yeah, things happen. Well, I'm not ready for that commitment, not yet. I mean, it's way too soon -- not only for myself, but for Cameron, too. See, this is what I'm afraid of. What if Lucky and I move in together and things don't work out?

Nikolas: You might want to ask yourself, what happens if you don't move in together? You may never get a chance to find out.

Elizabeth: You're the sweetest friend.

Nikolas: I know. What did you decide?

Elizabeth: I didn't, but thank you.

Nikolas: Bye.

Emily: Hi.

Nikolas: Hi. You just -- you just missed Liz.

Emily: Yeah, I know, I saw her. I thought I'd let you two finish.

Nikolas: You ready?

Emily: No. I need the truth. Are you sorry you married me?

Nikolas: Look, don't you know that marrying you is the most exceptional thing that I've done in my entire life?

Emily: I know you love me, Nikolas, but the things you said to Elizabeth about how hard marriage is --

Nikolas: Look at us. You know, is this easy? Ask half the people in this country who end up divorced. Better yet, ask the ones who get through their disasters -- cheating, drugs, whatever, you know, even -- even rape.

Emily: And prison sentences?

Nikolas: What does that have to do with this?

Emily: You tell me, Nikolas. We're all about me and my crisis of the week, and through it all. you haven't said a word about you and what it was like for you to be locked up.

Nikolas: Well, it -- it was ugly, cold, and gray. You know, I spent as much time as I could by myself. But let me tell you, the only thing that got me through it was knowing that you had a plan to get me out of there and that we'd be together again.

Emily: And then I came and I asked you for a divorce. I was such a coward, Nikolas.

Nikolas: No, you weren’t. You saved my life.

Emily: What?

Nikolas: You were right not to tell me. I mean, if I had known what happened to you, the pain that you were in while I was locked behind bars and couldn't do anything, I think I truly might've lost my mind. And you knew all along.

Emily: Nikolas, I'd give anything for Connor to have never happened, and Mary before him, but they did and we survived them, and I'm going to find my way back. I swear it.
