Nikolas: Are you angry with me for the amnesia? Because I brought Connor and Mary into our lives? Is that it?

It's why I haven't been as excited as I should be that luke's closing in on Helena and Nikolas could come home soon.

Elizabeth: It's going to change. I promise it'll change and the horrible memories will fade and you and Nikolas will be on the other side of this together, stronger and closer than ever.
Emily: Yeah, but what happened in there wasn't a memory, Elizabeth. Nikolas vanished, and Connor was there. I saw him. I felt him. But that's what's going to happen every time my husband reaches out for me, Elizabeth. It's not going to change in a week or in a hundred years.
Elizabeth: Emily, you have got to see that you are not being fair to Nikolas.
Emily: I know, Elizabeth, and I'm sorry about that.
Elizabeth: Oh, really? Well, you know what? That's just not good enough, Nikolas is an amazing person who happens to love you beyond all reason, and you've got him sitting in there thinking that he's done something wrong. Now, you take your little self back in there and you tell him that Connor raped you and let him help you pick up the pieces.
Emily: Oh, but he can't fix this, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: And a divorce will? Emily, you've got to stop letting Connor win this and be honest with your husband.

The camera fades into Nikolas sitting, cuffed at the jail cell table, thinking.
Emily: I told you, it isn't necessary to restrain my husband.
Guard: Sorry. Warden's orders.
Emily: Okay. Then at least give us some privacy, please.
Guard: I'll be right outside.
Emily: Did they hurt you? Nikolas, I'll speak to the Warden myself
Nikolas: To hell with the Warden. Talk to me. What happened before? What'd I do?
Emily: Nothing. Nothing, Nikolas. I just -- I just lost it. You know, there's been a lot to deal with, you know, you being sent here, the kidnappings, A.J. shot my dad and then gets murdered. I just -- I haven't been able to sleep lately.
Nikolas: I'm so sorry I haven't been able to help you.
Emily: Hey, maybe it's one of those character-building times, you know, where you're supposed to find your way through everything alone.
Nikolas: No, I don't believe that. We used to count on each other for everything. What changed so much that you're willing to throw our marriage away before it's even gotten started? Please, Emily. Look at me. Something happened to you, and I need you to trust me enough to tell me what it is.
