June 13, 2005 Screencaps

Lucky: When Reese’s car exploded, did you have any suspects?

Ric: No. Only John Durant.

Lucky: Oh, our not-so-esteemed new D.A.

Ric: Yeah.

Elizabeth: Hey.

Nikolas: Excuse me, guys.

Ric: Yeah.

Elizabeth: Hi.

Nikolas: Hi.

Elizabeth: I'm really glad you're here.

Nikolas: What's going on?

Elizabeth: Kristina cut her hand, Alexis brought her in to have some stitches, but I think Alexis needs somebody to be with her.

Nikolas: Okay, I'll tell Ric --

Elizabeth: No, no, wait.

Nikolas: No --

Elizabeth: Alexis specifically asked me not to call Ric, so I'm just doing the next best thing.

Nikolas: All right, all right. Where are they now?

Elizabeth: Well, Kristina is with Dr. O’Donnell, but Alexis is on the fourth floor.

Nikolas: Okay, thanks.

Michael: I'm fine. You don't have to sit with me.

Emily: Mm-hmm. In other words, you want to get rid of me so you can sneak back to the top of the stairs and eavesdrop on your parents.

Michael: How did you know?

Emily: Because I used to do the same thing when I was a kid at the Quartermaines'. You know, sometimes it helped to know what was going on, but usually it just made everything worse.

Michael: Why?

Emily: Because I wasn't old enough to understand the emotional complications, so I'd usually just end up more confused than when I started.

Michael: But my mom marrying Alcazar isn't really complicated.

Emily: What? What are you talking about? Sure it is. Your mom loves you. She never wants to see you hurt or be the reason that you're in pain. But on the other hand, you know, Carly is allowed to have a life, and she gets to fall in love with whomever she chooses, even if you don't approve.

Lucky: I need background information on all Agent Marshall’s cases. That's right, all of them. As soon as possible. Aren't you going to be done in 15 minutes?

Elizabeth: Oh, someone's been checking my schedule.

Lucky: Well, I'm going to be done, too. And since Audrey’s watching Cameron tonight, I thought we could go to a nice dinner.

Elizabeth: Really?

Lucky: Yeah.

Elizabeth: Oh.

Lucky: I think we're due.

Elizabeth: Okay, that's great. Can we maybe go to that restaurant at the Metro Court? Because they have my favorite dessert there.

Lucky: You're on. That's great. You'll meet me there?

Elizabeth: Yeah, yeah.

Lucky: Yeah, I should touch base with Nikolas before I leave and -- you know where he went?

Elizabeth: Yeah, he's up on the fourth floor with Alexis. She brought Kristina in because she had a cut on her hand. It's no big deal, but I asked her if I could call Ric and she said no. I didn't want her to sit by herself.

Alexis: All right, it's not the end of the world. She has a cut. She cut her finger. It's not a life-threatening injury, and she'll get a few stitches and she'll be as good as new.

Nikolas: What?

Alexis: It -- I should have been paying closer attention.

Nikolas: Look, don't go there. They're called accidents for a reason.

Alexis: No, you don't understand.

Nikolas: Well, you try me.

Alexis: I'm exhausted. I am. And I'm pregnant, and I'm really tired. This pregnancy is really slowing me down, and I'm trying to be the best mother that I can be to Kristina, and I'm working full-time at the same time, and I'm just tired. I said that already, didn't I? I'm really glad that I have Viola, and Kristina really loves her. It's just she can't work all the time. She takes time off. And I'm perfectly capable of handling this; I should be perfectly capable of handling this. I miss my husband.

Emily: You've had a rough time lately. You know, things have happened that have left you shocked and confused. If you go back to Dr. Thomas, he can help you sort through your feelings.

Michael: I know I said I'd try it again, but I hate it.

Emily: I feel the same way.

Michael: Then why do you keep trying to make me go back?

Emily: Because I know it helps. See, nothing hard is ever easy -- or something like that. I'll make you a deal.

Michael: What?

Emily: I'll go for you if you go for me. We can get through it together -- you know, like a therapy tag team. What do you say?

Michael: Okay, I'm in.

Alexis: How did I become this needy thing? I don't even recognize myself. I never used to be like that. I don't want to be like that. I liked being alone, I liked being independent, I liked not having to negotiate with anyone else. And then he had to come along and be charming and sweet and funny. He even made me feel funny.

Nikolas: Well, finding the humor in a Cassadine is quite an accomplishment.

Alexis: Kristina adores him, and he's so good with her. He's good with all children. He should have 12 of them. That's how good he is with children. And then I had to go and get all dependent on him, and now he's not here anymore and nothing feels right and I just feel all out of balance. I'm glad you're sitting here and not him. Honest to God, I am, because if he were sitting here I'd probably beg him to come back, which would be an exercise in futility, not to mention how humiliating it would be for me because neediness, you know, is very unattractive. And our marriage is over, so what is the point anyway? I just -- forget it.

Nikolas: Alexis, you don't have to make up --

Alexis: I'm sorry, it's my fault. I'm pregnant and I'm hormonal.

Nikolas: But that doesn't mean you have to make up excuses for missing your husband. Okay? Ahem.

Alexis: I told Elizabeth not to call you. It really wasn't necessary.

Ric: She didn’t. Reese got in a car accident. What happened?

Nikolas: Okay, so, now that Ric’s here, I just remembered I'm late for an appointment, okay?

Alexis: Wait -- no, no, it's okay, stay.

Nikolas: Listen, Ric, Kristina is in with Dr. O’Donnell. She's just getting some stitches. She's fine. So could you please sit with Alexis?

Ric: Sure.

Alexis: I'm not a big baby. I don't need anyone to sit with me.

Nikolas: Mm-hmm.

Nikolas leaves as the scene continues between Ric and Alexis.

Emily: Michael agreed to go back into therapy.

Sonny: How did you manage that?

Emily: I explained about my own therapy, how it's difficult but ultimately helpful.

Sonny: You have no idea what Michael’s dealing with.

Emily: Sonny, not too many people know this, but I was recently raped.

Sonny: Who?

Emily: The details don't matter.

Sonny: Where is the man who hurt you?

Emily: Dead. Sonny, I shot him as he was coming for me again.

Sonny: You know that if you hadn't done that he still would've ended up dead, right?

Emily: Listen, the man who raped me is beside the point. What matters is -- something that I'm learning for sure -- is therapy can help. Is it painful? God, yeah. The last thing you want to do is talk about or even relive the one thing that you so desperately want to forget. But it causes more pain to carry it inside because no matter how deeply you bury it, it's there. It's like toxic waste of the soul.

Sonny: How's Michael?

Jason: Uh -- looks like Emily helped him.

Sonny: Yeah, I'm starting to realize that. You know, this so-called marriage is -- it couldn't have come at a worse time. I mean, you know, putting all this on Michael’s plate is going to make him more angry and confused. I don't know what -- you think, if you can, you can come by here? Maybe, you know, help him out, you know, a little bit?

Emily: Yeah.

Sonny: I'd really appreciate that.

Emily: You don't even have to ask, Sonny. I'm Michael’s Godmother. I want to help him in any way I can. You know, that's why I'm pushing so hard for therapy.

Sonny: Okay, I trust your instincts but, you know, if you say so, I'm willing to let Michael go back to that Dr. Thomas.

Emily: Thank you. Sonny, you won't regret it.

Sonny: I hope not.

Emily: I was here earlier. I think I left my scarf.

Nikolas: Looking for this?

Emily: How'd you know?

Nikolas: I charged our drinks to my room, so when they found it, they called me. Here. I was going to take it to you at the hospital tomorrow, so now I guess I'm going to have to find another excuse.

Emily: You never need an excuse to see me.

Acoustic music playing.

Lucky: I'm sorry. We just moved into our new place, and with all the stuff I bought, I must have gone over my credit limit.

Elizabeth: Here.

Waitress: Thanks.

Nikolas and Emily are watching the scene from the alcove, out of sight. As the waitress passes them, Nikolas stops here.

Nikolas: Tell Mr. Spencer that you ran his card a second time and it went through. Okay, have him sign, like, a dummy receipt or something, then throw it away and send the bill to me.

The camera pans back to Elizabeth and Lucky

Elizabeth: I'm sorry, honey. I should have realized how much money we've both been spending and suggested a place not so expensive.

Lucky: I just wanted to give you a special night.

Elizabeth: Hey, being with you is special. Where doesn't matter.

Waitress: Mr. Spencer, I had an impulse and ran your card a second time. It went through.

The camera pans back to Nikolas and Emily in the alcove.

Emily: We're really fortunate. You know that? Even when you were having money problems, it was all about keeping the Cassadine business empire intact. You've never had to scramble to pay your credit card bills, and neither have I.

Nikolas: It's still kind of hard to feel sorry for them, though. I mean, they have everything that really matters, right?

Emily: Yeah. Yeah, I wish that we could be as close physically as Elizabeth and Lucky are.

Nikolas: Well, it'll come with time.

.Music plays

Nikolas: Right now we're together, and that's enough.

Emily: I love this song. Dance with me?

Nikolas: Okay.
