Nikolas: So how did that feel, pretending like we just met?

Emily: It was weird but fun. I'm hoping we have a second date.

Nikolas: And a third and fourth and a fifth.

Emily: You're already planning for the future, huh?

Emily laughs.

Nikolas: Any chance you could fall in love with a guy like me?

Emily: Hmm. You know, why not? You're kind, you're thoughtful, you make me laugh, you're fun to be with. I don't mean to be pushy, but I think I could spend a lifetime with you.

Nikolas: Because I'm counting on it. You okay?

Emily: You don't have to ask me that every time you kiss me.

Nikolas: No, but I just don't want to make you uncomfortable.

Emily: I love you, Nikolas. I love kissing you. It's been a wonderful day.

Nikolas: Well, it's not over because you're coming back with me to Wyndemere; go for a walk on the bluffs. What do you say?

Emily: You know, I forgot that I'm supposed to be with Michael. He's having his first session with the therapist.

Nikolas: When? When is that?

Emily: It's tonight. You know, he's been going through such a rough time and I'm the one who talked him into seeing a therapist. I just -- I don't want to let him down. You know, he's counting on me.

Nikolas: Yeah, yeah, of course.

Emily: Okay.

Nikolas: Of course.

Emily: Well, I'll see you later?

Nikolas: Oh, yeah.

Emily: Okay.

Nikolas: Okay

Dr. Thomas: Michael hasn't told me about the trauma he suffered, but it would be useful if I knew the details.

Emily: I don't know them myself.

Dr. Thomas: Emily, I understand your desire to protect your nephew, but I'm only asking because I want to help him. As I assured Sam, whatever you tell me will go no further.

Emily: All right, listen, I'm sorry, I honestly don't know.

Sam: Emily, hey.

Jason: You here to see Michael?

Emily: Yeah, I promised him I'd come by. Hi. Michael, are you ready for your appointment?

Michael: I -- I guess.

Emily: Listen, don't worry, okay? Dr. Thomas wants to help. You can feel safe with him.

Dr. Thomas: We're only going to talk for a while, Michael, nothing more.

Jason: Yeah, go ahead. We'll be waiting right here, okay?

Michael: Okay.

Sam: Thank you so much for coming.

Emily: Yeah. Michael needs all the help he can get.

Jason: Hey, what'd you say to him?

Emily: I told him the truth -- you know, that therapy can be scary and painful sometimes, but it helps.

Nikolas: So, yeah, we sat here in the restaurant and pretended we were meeting for the first time.

Lucky: How'd it go?

Nikolas: Well, we, you know, we talked, we laughed. Okay, I fell in love all over again. Fine.

Lucky: Was Emily okay?

Nikolas: She tried her best.

Lucky: "Tried"?

Nikolas: Yeah, look, I know that Emily loves me and wants things to be back the way they were as much as I do. But when I watch her forcing herself to act like everything's okay, it breaks my heart, Lucky. It just does.

Lucky: She doesn't want to hurt you.

Nikolas: Yeah, I know that, but she's the one in pain and I'm just trying to --

Lucky: Emily's a survivor, all right? There's nothing that's going to destroy her spirit.

Nikolas: I feel helpless and I'm frustrated and I don't know what to do anymore.

Lucky: You're doing it. You're doing it by loving Emily, and you're letting her go through it in her own time.

Nikolas: I just wish I could snap my fingers and leave it all behind us, you know?

Lucky: Yeah. It will be. You just hold on to that thought.

Pager beeps.

Lucky: Duty calls -- you know, it's time for me to protect and serve.

Sam: Thank you for encouraging Michael to see a therapist.

Emily: I know Jason has mixed feelings about Dr. Thomas.

Sam: Yeah. I mean, it's really the first time we've disagreed about anything but, you know, Michael needs help --.

Michael: Please don't make me go.

Emily: It's okay.

Jason: Michael? Michael, what happened?

Michael: I don't want to talk to Dr. Thomas anymore.

Sam: Hey, he's only trying to help you.

Emily: Listen, there's nothing to be afraid of, Michael.

Michael: Why are you making me go? Why do I have to go to Dr. Thomas?

Sonny: What the hell's going on?

Emily: Michael just came running out of his session with Dr. Thomas.

Sonny: Buddy, you all right? Huh? No, no, no, no. Tell me what's going on.

Michael: I don't want to talk to Dr. Thomas anymore. Please, dad, I want to go home.

Sonny: Yeah, I'm going to take you home, all right? You don't have to see the doctor again.

Sam: Sonny, maybe you should talk to Dr. Thomas first, okay?

Sonny: He's upset, okay?

Emily: Listen, Sam has a point.

Sonny: No, you know what? I let you guys talk me into this when my gut was telling me it wasn't the right thing to do. Now look what's going on with my son.

Ric: Sonny? Sonny, is Michael all right?

Sonny: Listen, I need you to -- Reese got in a car accident, okay? She's hurt, but she's going to be all right. I need you to sit with her because I'm going to take Michael home.

Ric: Well, what can I do?

Sonny: Well, she's going in and out of consciousness. She's trying to say something to me, I don't know, tell me something, but I can't make it out, so --

Ric: Yeah, yeah. I'll sit with her.

Sonny: Okay -- hold on, hold on. Okay, I'm going to take my son home, all right? And I don't want the subject of therapy ever raised in my house again. Come on.

Sonny: You feeling better?

Michael: Yeah. Thanks for bringing me home, Dad.

Sonny: I was worried about you.

Michael: I'm sorry that I scared you. I just had to get out of there.

Sonny: What did Dr. Thomas do that got you so upset?

Michael: He asked me about A.J. I don't want to talk to him right now.

Sonny: Yeah, I know. You don't have to.

Emily: I know how hard it is, Michael, okay? But you need to try. That's how you're going to get better.

Sonny: Go upstairs and get some rest.

Michael: Okay. Good night.

Sonny: You're Jason’s sister, and I respect you. But don't ever contradict me with my kids. And don't ask my son to go see that shrink again.

Emily: Well, then I'll tell you. If you love Michael, you need to let him get help.

Sonny: Michael's been hurt too much already. I'm not sending him back there.

Emily: He needs help. He's not going to magically get better on his own.

Sonny: He's in -- he's in too much pain. The doctor made it worse. This therapy was supposed to help him deal with whatever he's going through. But all I see is a little boy in agony.

Emily: Listen, I had something terrible happen to me, and I refused to go to therapy because I was sure that time would pass, memories would fade, and I'd heal.

Sonny: My little boy's going to heal because he's got family and friends surrounding him, you know.

Emily: So was I, but I got worse. I finally tried therapy out of desperation because my life had spun completely out of control. Michael's my Godson; he's my nephew. I don't want him to get to that point. I want to spare him that pain. Don't you?

Sonny: I'm not going to force Michael to do anything he doesn't want to do. You know? But if you can get him to agree, I'm not going to fight it.

Emily: Thank you.

Knock on door.

Michael: Come in.

Emily: Hi, Michael.

Michael: Hi, Emily.

Emily: So do you feel better, now that you've gotten out of your therapy session? I did the same thing.

Michael: I got zapped.

Emily: Can I try?

Michael: Sure. A is hit, B is jump.

Emily: Okay.

Michael: I got to level six. My dad says I don't have to go back if I don't want to.

Emily: If you don't want to.

Michael: I don’t.

Emily: Yeah, I don't like talking to the shrink, either.

Michael: So why do you?

Emily: Well, something bad happened to me. I wasn't going to tell anyone. I was going to keep it a secret forever. Oh, shoot. You're good. I only got to level two.

Michael: Well, did you tell the shrink your secret?

Emily: Mm-hmm.

Michael: Why?

Emily: Because not telling was worse. And I thought that if I kept it inside it would go away, but it didn’t. It just got worse. You know, I was thinking about it all the time, and got sad a lot and mad, and I kept taking it out on other people. You know, running away from the bad stuff doesn't make it better, only facing it does.

Michael: Then how come it still bothers you?

Lucky: Elizabeth, I need to see Agent Marshall.

Elizabeth: I think she's sleeping. Is there something wrong?

Nikolas: We just came from the crash site.

Elizabeth: Did you join the P.C.P.D. when I wasn't looking?

Nikolas: No, I was with Lucky when he got the call.

Lucky: Yeah.

Nikolas: He let me tag along.

Lucky: Exactly. And Reese’s crash wasn't an accident.

Ric: What'd you find?

Lucky: Someone tried to kill Agent Marshall.
