Nikolas: Remember me?

Emily: Oh, God! Oh -- oh, God.

Nikolas: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking.

Emily: No, no, no --

Nikolas: No, don't even worry about it, just leave it there. Come on, leave it.

Emily: You just caught me off guard.

Nikolas: Here, come on. Here, just leave it there. I got you these here.

Emily: Thank you, Nikolas. They're beautiful.

Nikolas: You're welcome. I'm -- I'm so sorry.

Emily: No.

Nikolas: That was stupid of me surprising you like that. I should have thought better.

Emily: No, it -- it's okay. I just --

Nikolas: Here --

Emily: I didn't know that anybody was there.

Nikolas: Yeah.

Nikolas: You studying?

Emily: Yeah, anatomy. I have two more chapters to read. The test's on monday, so my mind's spinning.

Nikolas: I'm sure I'm not making it any easier. Listen, I'll leave you alone with the -- what is that? -- The lymphatic system, yes. I'm really sorry about that. I was just trying to let you know that I was thinking about you.

Emily: Thank you.

Nikolas: Yeah, I'm going to go take one of the launches out, okay? I'll see you soon?

Emily: Mm-hmm.

Nikolas: Okay.

Officer Logan: Emily Cassadine?

Emily: What do you want?

Officer Logan: D.A. Durant wants to see you downtown to answer some questions about the disappearance of Michael Corinthos.

Nikolas: Emily, you want to take a break and come --

Phone rings.

Nikolas: Hello.

Lucky: Nikolas, it's Lucky. You might want to get down to the station.

Nikolas: Why? What's going on?

Lucky: Durant had Emily brought in for questioning about her brother and Sam about running off with Michael.

Nikolas: I'll be right there.

John: Oh, you might want to use that phone to call your lawyer.

Emily: Or try to call my brother so he'll find out I'm here and come back?

John: Smart girl. Not smart enough to talk your brother out of running off with my grandson when he's wanted for murder.

Emily: No comment.

John: Well, you'll make one soon enough. See, I got everybody in this town exactly where I want them.

Reese: It's not just your heart that's involved, Sonny. It's mine, too.

Sonny: So, you insisted I should have let you in on the plan for Jason and Sam to take Michael?

Reese: I could have helped. I mean, come on, this wouldn't have been the first time that I compromised everything for you.

Sonny: So you're telling me you wouldn't have tried to talk me out of it, wasted valuable time?

Reese: All right, you know, Michael is on the run without his family.

Sonny: Right.

Reese: His worst secret is on the front page of the news, Sonny.

Sonny: See? Even now you're trying to talk me out of it.

Reese: Oh.

Sonny: What?

Reese: Okay, fine, I admit it.

Sonny: Oh.

Reese: I just would have let the old-fashioned justice system take its course, but -- all right, you know what? This wasn't my call to make, and I'm going to back you up no matter what you decide to do next.

Sonny: All right, I -- ahem -- I appreciate that.

Reese: It doesn't make me look weak in your eyes?

Sonny: Weak? I would never think of you as weak.

Reese: So how would you describe me?

Sonny: Let me see, let me think. Hmm. Smart. Maybe a little strong, right? Very sexy. Right? I don't know.

Phone rings.

Sonny: I'm sorry. Hello.

Emily: Sonny, it's Emily.

Sonny: Where are you?

Emily: I'm at the P.C.P.D. Listen, I think I'm going to need some help.

Emily: What makes you think I had anything to do with Michael's disappearance?

John: Oh, come on, you and I both know that Sonny and Jason have a habit of using women in their criminal activity.

Emily: Like you're doing now?

John: You are becoming dangerously close to being charged as an accomplice.

Reese: And you're close to being charged with violation of a citizen's rights to counsel before questioning -- or in this case, railroading.

Sonny: You okay?

Emily: Yeah, I'm -- I'm fine. He has nothing.

John: You're hiding your brother, Sam, and Michael on Spoon Island. Right now I got officers out there gathering evidence --

Sonny: You have a search warrant?

John: Emily aided and abetted!

Reese: In other words, you don't.

John: All right, look, you're both stonewalling. A family of fugitives is on the run, you know where they're hiding, and you're breaking the law by remaining silent.

Reese: Emily, you're free to go, and whatever Durant's goons have against you will be inadmissible.

John: If Jason and Sam don't turn themselves in, I'm going to move forward and charge them, and I got plenty to prosecute.

Nikolas: Maybe you didn't hear right. Emily's free to go.

Emily: I want to thank you for coming.

Sonny: No, hey, thanks for calling.

Emily: All right.

Emily: Listen, I know that you're upset that I called Sonny and not you.

Nikolas: You're just lucky you're not in jail, Emily.

Emily: Can we talk about this somewhere else, please?

Nikolas: Well, that doesn't surprise me. We don't talk about much of anything anymore.

Nikolas: Look, I can believe that you would hide Jason, Sam, and Michael in the grottoes. I -- I don't blame you. What I can't buy is why you wouldn't let me know about it.

Emily: What are you more angry about, Nikolas? That, or the fact that I didn't come to you when I was in trouble?

Nikolas: Well, tell me, why didn't you? Huh? Why didn't you?

Emily: I was afraid that I -- I might jeopardize Jason or Michael or Sam.

Nikolas: What? What, you thought that they wouldn't be safe if you told me?

Emily: That's not what --

Nikolas: What, do you think I would tattletale on them, turn them all in?

Emily: I was trying to stay quiet, Nikolas. I didn't think it out past that.

Nikolas: Think it out -- you didn't think it out at all, Emily. You took a huge, unnecessary risk by hiding them that could have cost you your career as a doctor. I mean, if you absolutely felt that you needed to do , you could have at least let me help you.

Emily: And have you try to talk me out of it like you're doing right now, Nikolas? I was careful. I made sure that nobody was --

Nikolas: The bottom line is that if you would have been caught you could have went to jail. And you knew that, so why in the hell did you do it in the first place?

Sonny: She was only doing what we asked her to, and we didn't want you involved, Nik--

Nikolas: I'm talking to my wife right now.

Sonny: I was protecting my son.

Nikolas: Your -- and what -- yeah, what about Emily, huh? Who -- who was protecting her? Certainly not you because people around you either end up getting injured or they end up getting killed. You know, I'm -- did you even care that you might be putting Emily in danger? Did you care?

Sonny: Emily could have said no. We would have understood.

Nikolas: Emily would never go against her brother, but that -- you knew that already, which is probably what you were counting on, no?

Sonny: Emily's loyal.

Nikolas: And you took advantage of it, because that's what you do, Sonny Corinthos. You use people to get what you want. In the end, that's just all that matters to you, isn't it?

Emily: Stop it, Nikolas.

Sonny: You don't understand what you're talking about.

Emily: You're not mad at Sonny, you're mad at me, okay? This isn't about anything but us and our crumbling marriage.

Nikolas: Well, so much for working it out, huh?

Courtney: Wow. I taught you well.

Nikolas: Sorry. I'm having a lousy day.

Courtney: Yeah, join the club.

Nikolas: Jax?

Courtney: Yeah, the usual. Now we just keep trying to connect, and we're just growing further and further apart.

Nikolas: Yeah, well, you're way ahead of me and Emily. We're not even talking.

Sonny: I'm sorry about coming in between you guys, arguing --

Emily: No, no, no, no, it's -- it's not your fault. It's just -- oh, you don't need to hear this.

Sonny: If Jason were here, would you tell him?

Emily: I can tell Jason pretty much anything.

Sonny: You think maybe you can think of me like a stand-in brother? I don't listen as well as Jason, but I can try.

Emily: It's what I blurted out to Nikolas about our crumbling marriage. I know how much that hurt him.

Sonny: You think maybe you can tell him you didn't mean it?

Emily: But I did. I just didn't mean to hurt him, and I can't help myself. We keep trying to get back to that comfortable, easy relationship that we used to have.

Sonny: Right.

Emily: You know, maybe that's part of the problem. We never had to try before. Everything just came so naturally. We were always in sync.

Sonny: Well, that's great, you know, but sometimes it's just hard to keep that up.

Emily: And I know Nikolas still loves me and I love him. But despite our best intentions, we keep missing. You know, instead of growing closer, all we're doing is getting frustrated and more resentful. You know, what we had was so wonderful, and now it's so painful. I just don't understand how that could happen.
