Emily: Have you been waiting long?
Elizabeth: No, but is everything okay?
Lucky: Hey, I just got your message. Congrats.
Elizabeth: Wait. Congratulations for what?
Lucky: What -- you mean she hasn't told you the good news?
Emily: Lucky --
Elizabeth: No.
Lucky: I'm going to be an uncle.
Elizabeth: You're pregnant?
Lucky: Here we go, two hot teas, for you and for me.
Elizabeth: It's decaf, right, because you know you're not supposed to be drinking caffeine now that you're expecting.
Emily: Right.
Elizabeth: Look, I know it's got to be hard not having Nikolas here, and, you know, it's not easy being a single mom, but Lucky and I are going to be here help you. Right, Lucky?
Lucky: Yeah.
Elizabeth: Nikolas is going to be so excited!
Emily: You know, I just realized I'm supposed to be at the hospital. I'm so sorry, you guys. I will -- bye.
Elizabeth: I can't believe I just did that. I mean, Emily -- she looks like she's in hell, and I'm just going on and on about --
Lucky: Elizabeth --
Elizabeth: You know, I'm just so excited about it, you know? I mean, Nikolas and Emily have been forced apart, and this baby is going to be such a --
Lucky: Emily isn't pregnant. It's just part of the plan to lure Helena out of hiding. We just want everybody -- we're trying to make everybody believe that Emily is carrying Bikolas' baby.
Luke: Helena's determined to continue that Cassadine bloodline, but the last two generations have been a terrible disappointment to her. There was Stavros, the apple of her eye, who, unfortunately, I had to kill. Twice. And then there was Stefan. What an annoying, whining, little poseur he was. And, of course, Nikolas, who, according to Helena, has terrible taste in women.
Skye: Oh. So, this baby would be Helena's last chance to get it right.
Luke: Yeah. The perfect heir to the house of pain.
Skye: Oh. But do you really think that the potential for a new Cassadine heir will lure Helena out of hiding?
Luke: Faster than you can call 911.
Skye: But, Luke, what if Helena waits to make her move until the baby is born? I mean, Emily's not really pregnant, you know.
Luke: Helena will make a move the minute she hears there's rumaki in the oven.
Skye: Oh. Yes, I guess Lucky has been told to spread the word in public places.
Luke: Yeah. And I prefer the bolder approach.
Skye: Ooh. Do I dare ask?
Luke: Here's what you do -- rally the Quartermaines, get them all together, tell them Emily has something very important to tell them, and then we get Emily to spring the news.
Skye: Oh. Luke, come on, really, now. Do you want Emily to lie to her entire family about a fake pregnancy?
Emily: I'm sorry. You guys, I can't lie about having Nikolas' baby.
Luke: How many times has Helena threatened to slash your throat?
Skye: Luke.
Luke: No. I heard that she said she would kill you at all costs.
Emily: That's right.
Luke: Emily, she means it. It's not a joke. This fake kid would --
Emily: I just don't feel right --
Luke: And I think that if you and Nikolas had a kid while he was in prison, it'd be the greatest thing that ever happened.
Elizabeth: It's okay. I know the truth.
Luke: What, did you sent out a press release?
Lucky: We can trust Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: I just want to help. And I'm really sorry about going on and on about babies at Kelly's.
Emily: No. Listen, it was a natural reaction. Look, you guys, I just don't feel right lying about something that's so important.
Skye: Well, Luke things we should tell the Quartermaines as soon as possible.
Lucky: I agree. It's the fastest way to lure Helena out.
Emily: I just don't want my family, especially my parents, to invest in this lie, all right?
Lucky: Em, when Nikolas is out of prison, you can start a family for real.
Emily: What if I tell my parents the truth and ask them to play along? Come on.
Luke: You're taking too big of a chance with tracy the house. Alan and Monica could have a private conversation and blow the whole thing.
Skye: Oh, we can trust Alan.
Luke: The risk is too great, Skye. I'm telling you, one mistake and you're going to get your pretty little neck slashed from ear to ear.
Lucky: Dad, that's enough.
Skye: Must you be so graphic?
Luke: I am trying to be realistic here, people. The truth is ugly. Do you want this to work or not?
Luke: Elizabeth, you're a new mother. Fill Emily in on all the gruesome details on the bloating and the cravings and the backaches and the anxiety --
Emily: Yeah, all right, we get the picture, Luke.
Luke: And the sleepless --
Elizabeth: Come on, Em, we're late for the hospital.
Lucky: Could you be a little harder next time?
Luke: This is not a polite game, Cowboy. Helena has threatened to murder emily.
Skye: I think the image of Emily getting her throat cut went a little too far.
Luke: Well, I don't think it went far enough.
Lucky: My dad's never been compassionate or have any sympathy, and subtle has not been his specialty.
Luke: This is your friend we're trying to save.
Lucky: That look in your eye is not about protecting Emily. It's about getting even with Helena, because dad's got to always have to be one step ahead. But sooner or later, there's not going to be any more Cassadines to chase. You're finally going to have to face yourself for real. I just hope you can face the good for once.
Luke: That piano only plays one tune. I'm terribly sick of it.
Skye: Lucky just happens to be worried about you, Luke.
Luke: Lucky is a cop through and through. I don't know what happened to the boy's imagination. He doesn't understand anything that doesn't fit within the parameters of his very tiny, little world of right and wrong. And he's decided that it's his job to police my life and my behavior and my motivations.
Skye: Well, he asked a very reasonable question. When this is over and done with, are you going to crash and burn?
Luke: I don't know. How the hell am I supposed to know that, Skye? And why are you people all determined to get updates on my potential behavior? I'll tell you one thing you can take to the bank, one thing for sure. When this is over, I'm going to get blind drunk, and maybe I won't wait until it's over.
Skye: You know what? I can't even deal with you when you're like this. But then again, maybe that's exactly what you want.
Luke: No.
Skye: Okay, then. Let's be a little speculative here. Let's say this plan does go off without a hitch and Helena is arrested.
Luke: I never promised that.
Skye: I know. I'm just being a little hypothetical here, okay? Let's say Helena is arrested and thrown in prison or she definitely, truly dies, Luke. What next? What comes next in your life? Does your life feel empty? Do you feel like there's nobody else left in the world to fight?
Luke: I'm a combative person, Blaze. I can always scare up an enemy or two.
Skye: You're not going to answer my question, are you?
Luke: What am I going to do if Helena finally dies? I don't even know that she can be killed, frankly. I mean, she may be an immortal for all I know, the devil's daughter. The Cassadines are the worst thing that ever happened in my life. And a lot of bad things have happened. My son and I used to be best friends, instead of whatever the hell it is we are now. I think he is a judgmental, pompous ass. And he thinks I'm just an ass. Yeah. Yeah, the Cassadines have blighted my life in a way that, I mean, we don't have time to go into it all. I just -- especially Helena. So, yeah, I want her dead. I'm so sick of dragging this past of mine around. I just want to -- I want to get on with my life. And that's all because of you.
Elizabeth: It's obvious you're upset about -- about the pregnancy. Do you want to talk about it?
Emily: Yeah. You know, Luke said that we should be careful about talking in public.
Elizabeth: No one can hear us. I'm really worried about you.
Emily: The truth is that, you know, a baby would be a blessing, Elizabeth. I'd love to be pregnant. You know, and even if Nikolas and I can't raise the baby together, I'd have a piece of him with me every day until he's free, you know? But this plan of Luke's, it's like I'm tempting fate in a bad way or something.
Elizabeth: Like you're jinxing yourself for when you really do want to get pregnant?
Emily: You know, stranger things have happened. I mean, our lives have been so crazy, Elizabeth, and Nikolas is in prison, and we're talking about a life that he and I would create, and that's sacred.
Elizabeth: Yeah, but if you go along with Luke's plan now, then Nikolas will be free to have the family you want.
