December 1, 2005 Screencaps

Courtney asks what happened to Nikolas' heavily bandaged arm and Nikolas states that Helena's thugs beat him up. He goes on to say that he's had Helena committed to a sanitorium abroad so that Courtney and her baby are safe. Nikolas remembers while at Courtney's that it would be his one year anniversary to Emily.

Elizabeth sets Nikolas and Emily up to meet at Wyndemere as they remember that it would be their anniversary if they hadn't gotten divorced.

The following transcript is from the Nikolas, Courtney, Emily and Elizabeth scenes as they pertain to NikE:

Elizabeth: I thought you and Courtney were getting along.

Jax: We've stopped attacking each other, but that's a far cry from celebrating the upcoming birth of our child together. No, no, Courtney’s definitely shut me out. And, of course, I made it worse. I overreacted to when Helena threatened her.

Elizabeth: I'm sorry, Jax.

Jax: I was just concerned for her and the baby's safety, that's all.

Elizabeth: Of course. Well, that's understandable. But I kind of think Courtney knows what she's doing.

Jax: You see, I just don't believe that they're in love. I mean, sure, they're attracted to each other, right? But soul mates? I mean, not like -- like Nikolas and Emily. Or you and Lucky. I don't know -- maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.

Elizabeth: I just can't believe it was a year ago today that Nikolas and Emily got married.

Jax: Wait a second -- today is their anniversary?

Elizabeth: Mm-hmm.

Jax: Really? Maybe that's our cue. Come here. Don't you -- don't you ever wish for a do-over? You know, wish that you could go back and take the other fork in the road?

Elizabeth: More times than I care to admit.

Jax: Okay, well, maybe this is our chance, you know? Give destiny a little push.

Elizabeth: I don't like the way this sounds.

Jax: I just want to know once and for all if Nikolas and Emily are prepared to call it quits. Okay? And what better day to find that out than today, their wedding anniversary. I mean, if we could just get them together, you know, and -- somewhere, you know, we'll figure it out. But then we can see -- you know, see what happens. Maybe true love will win.

Elizabeth: And then Courtney would be free to be with you.

Jax: It would give us a chance. What do you say, Elizabeth? This is your chance to save two marriages.

Elizabeth: I've never known two people to love each other like Nikolas and Emily. I mean, even at my wedding when things were supposed to be over, they found a way to communicate without aying any words. And what's happened to them now, it just -- it breaks my heart.

Jax: So you agree with me?

Elizabeth: I'm a romantic, Jax. And, yes, I hold on to hope that they'll find their way back together, but without interference from you or me.

Jax: But --

Courtney: Good, you're here.

Jax: You were looking for me?

Courtney: Yeah, I knew you had a meeting, and I wanted to catch you before you went in. Could you excuse us, please?

Elizabeth: Sure.

Courtney: I fired your guards, Jax. You know the ones you had camped outside my house? Actually, no, I sent them away. You get to fire them -- or not. I don't care. Just keep them away from me, or I will file restraining orders against all of you.

Jax: Listen, I'm not the enemy here, okay? Helena Cassadine threatened you and the baby.

Courtney: Well, it's over now, Jax, okay? Helena's taken care of. Nikolas had her committed to a Swiss sanitarium. Now you can officially stay out of my life and out of my business.

Jax: No, you see, as long as you're pregnant with my child, you are my business.

Courtney: See? There you go again, Jax, showing that you have absolutely no respect for boundaries.

Jax: Look, I won't apologize for wanting to protect you, okay? You and the baby. I want what's best for my family.

Courtney: I am not your family. Okay? Look, I know that you're not trying to be difficult, but obviously you're incapable of drawing the line, so I'll do it for you. Will you let me know if you're going to make any decisions that impose on my life? Because I'll let you know if it's okay. All right? Thanks.

Jax: I thought women wanted to be indulged.

Elizabeth: Well, within reason. But you do tend to go a little overboard.

Jax: Well, yeah, but she's still my wife, and she's pregnant with my child. They were both threatened, okay?

Elizabeth: I don't think deception's the answer.

Jax: Didn't you tell me a while ago that you and Lucky would have never have gotten together if you hadn't gotten a push in the right direction from Nikolas and Emily? Hmm? Here's your chance to return the favor.

Elizabeth: You can't make people do what they don't want to do.

Jax: No, I'm just saying give them the opportunity, you know? They'll either take advantage of it or they won’t.

Courtney: I'm so sorry I kept you waiting. I know. This couldn't wait, you know? I showed Jax these.

Nikolas: Yeah?

Courtney: You know, I needed him to understand that his security goons aren't necessary. And I told him to back off of you and me.

Nikolas: Well, good. Listen, I'm just sorry that you're so stressed out about all of this. I mean, I should have done this a year ago when I had the chance, you know? It's just --

Courtney: Hey, this is about more than just Helena, Nikolas. There's something else.

Nikolas: Yeah. It was a year ago today that Emily and I got married.

Courtney: You don't have to stay here, Nikolas.

Nikolas: Do you want me to leave?

Courtney: I want you to know that you can. And I want you to trust that I'll be fine.

Phone rings.

Courtney: It's for you.

Nikolas: Okay.

Courtney: Here you go.

Nikolas: Okay. Elizabeth. Hello.

Elizabeth: Oh, great, I'm glad I caught you. Nikolas, I need to ask you a really big favor. Can Cameron and I come up to Wyndemere and grab some holly to make a wreath?

Nikolas: Of course. You don't even have to ask.

Elizabeth: Except I'd really like you to be there. And Cameron would love to see you.

Nikolas: Well, it just happens that I'm on my way home.

Elizabeth: Great. I'll see you after work.

Emily: Hey.

Elizabeth: Well?

Emily: I'm coming back to work.

Elizabeth: Oh, good. I am so proud of you for not giving up med school. And not that it's my place to say it, but you would have been making a huge mistake.

Emily: Yeah, you're not the only one who thought so. A whole bunch of people weighed in on my so-called career. So I'm going to look at it as a fresh start for me.

Elizabeth: Good.

Emily: So are you off duty soon?

Elizabeth: Yeah, but unfortunately, not soon enough. Can I ask you a favor?

Emily: What's up?

Elizabeth: Cameron and I went to Wyndermere earlier to gather some holly for a wreath, and we left his little lion in the garden. You know, his favorite stuffed animal that he sleeps with every night. And I want to go get it, but I don't think I'm going to get off here on time, and I want to get home so I can decorate the house for Lucky. Do you think --?

Emily: You want me to go over to Wyndermere and get it for him?

Elizabeth: Cameron would love you forever -- not that he won't anyway -- but I will owe you big-time.

Emily: Oh, of course I'll get it for him. I can go over there this evening.

Elizabeth: Great. Thank you.

Emily: Okay. Bye.

Jax apologizes to Courtney for going overboard in his ministrations and then asks Courtney where Nikolas is this evening?

Nikolas: Hi.

Emily: Hi. Nikolas, what happened?

Nikolas: Huh? Oh. Just a slight Helena problem, but it's all taken care of. Well, I thought -- I mean, I was supposed to meet Elizabeth and Cameron here to pick some holly to make a wreath. Well, what about you?

Emily: Yeah, huh. You know, I should have known. Cameron doesn't leave his stuff lying anywhere, and apparently I'm the only one who could get it for him.

Nikolas: Oh. Yeah. Well, I'm sure Elizabeth had something specific in mind when -- well, you know, knowing what today is.

Emily: You remembered.

Nikolas: How could I forget our anniversary?
