Lucky: I don't know, you were sleeping peacefully. Then suddenly you started thrashing around like you were panic-stricken.
Emily: I must have been dreaming.
Lucky: About the rape?
Emily: No, I would've remembered that. I -- I fell asleep when I was studying. I have finals coming up and I've just been a little stressed-out.
Lucky: I'm sorry. It was probably a little too much for you to babysit Cameron last night.
Emily: No, that's okay.
Lucky: A 1-year-old doesn't exactly leave you much time to do any studying.
Emily: Lucky, he was out like a light at 8:00. Besides, he's adorable, and I'll do anything to help Elizabeth out.
Lucky: Thank you.
Emily: So? Did you and Elizabeth have fun?
Lucky: It was great. I asked Mike to close down Kelly's early, so it was just the two of us for dinner. I played old songs on the jukebox, we danced.
Emily: Like old times?
Lucky: You remember when you and Nikolas and Elizabeth and I, we used to have our Kelly's closed dinners? Ribs and Elizabeth's homemade brownies and --
Emily: Everything's changed since then.
Lucky: Oh, not everything. Elizabeth still has a curfew, only this time it's because of that beautiful baby boy Cameron.
Emily: Lucky, I'm so happy that you guys reconnected.
Lucky: It just felt so natural. It almost as if we were picking up where we left off. I have to say a piece of my heart has always belonged to Elizabeth.
Emily: I'm sure she felt the same.
Lucky: You, too. I mean, you've always been in love with Nikolas, since you were a teenager, and when after years, I mean, he realized you weren't a little girl and then you two just fell in love, it was almost as if you were coming home.
Emily: You and Elizabeth have your own special bond, and now you can be together.
Lucky: You and Nikolas are going to have another chance. My dad, you know, he is not going to stop until he proves Helena is still alive, and then Nikolas will be released from prison and come home to you.
Emily: Lucky, you know, I'm so sorry. I have so much work to do. I have four more chapters to read -- you're not going to believe it -- thanks to this unscheduled nap, so I've got to go. But I'll see you later, okay?
Lucky: Okay.
Emily: Bye.
Sam: Hey.
Emily: Hi. Sorry for coming by without calling.
Sam: No, please, you can come over whenever you want.
Emily: Is Jason here?
Sam: He's not, he's not. Actually, I don't know, I think he probably went out with Carly.
Emily: Oh, do you know when he's going to be back?
Sam: I don't, but you are more than welcome to stay.
Emily: Okay. Thanks.
Sam: Good.
Emily: I guess Carly's been leaning on Jason pretty heavily since Michael's death?
Sam: Yeah. Yeah. He's been looking out for her for a while, hasn't he?
Emily: Yeah, she counts on Jason to clean up after she makes a mess of things, to talk her down when she gets crazy. I don't know what she'd do without Jason. You know, and now with Michael gone --
Sam: You know, my heart goes out to Carly. There is nothing more heartbreaking than losing a child.
Emily: But?
Sam: But -- I don't know, I mean, even in her grief, she still has this way of demanding Jason's attention.
Emily: Yeah, she definitely assumes that Jason's always available to her.
Sam: Yes, I've noticed.
Emily: And I take it she's been making that assumption lately?
Sam: Well, she swept in here this morning and basically announced that she had something private to say to Jason and waved me out of the room like I was hired help -- not that I don't sympathize with her, because I do. I really, really do, especially --
Emily: Sam, do you want some advice?
Sam: Yeah, I'll take anything you have.
Emily: Okay. You're going to have to draw the line with Carly or she's going to wave you right out of Jason's life.
Elizabeth: Hey.
Lucky: Hey.
Elizabeth: Hi. Is this a pleasant surprise, or am I being too pushy?
Lucky: Definitely option A.
Elizabeth: Well, I just came by to tell you how much fun i had with you last night, dancing with you and being with you.
Lucky: I loved it.
Elizabeth: So does this seem almost scary, like it can't be happening, yet it is? Because when I woke up this morning, for a moment, I thought that our date wasn't real. I mean, I honestly thought that I had dreamed it.
Lucky: You dream about me?
Elizabeth: Oh, well, sometimes. In fact, for all I know, I could be dreaming right now.
Lucky: I think I can prove that this is real. What about that?
Elizabeth: I don't know. I'm not convinced.
Elizabeth: Oh, something fell.
Lucky: No, no, no, leave it.
Elizabeth: No, it'll just take a second.
Lucky: What?
Elizabeth: It's a divorce petition -- for Emily and Nikolas.
Lucky: She's going through with it.
Sam: Right, I know what matters is how Jason and I feel about each other, the way that we trust each other. Jason accepts me -- which isn't easy, believe me, because I have a lot -- I mean, a lot of flaws.
Emily: Well, so does he. You know, I always get teased for thinking that my brother is perfect, but he's not. I mean, he's reckless, he's stubborn. You practically have to hit him over the head to get him to tell you how he feels about anything. And I think that most people eventually get frustrated, they give up, and they pull away, and I've seen how much that hurts Jason, even though he doesn't really show it. So please don't do that to him. Sam, he really needs you.
Sam: No, don't -- don't worry. Jason means everything to me and I am going to hold on with everything that I have. I don't know, I mean, I guess that's the key to any successful relationship, right? I mean, when things get scary or sad or unbelievably frustrating, you just have to hold on, you know, plain refuse to give up.
Emily: Well, I know that's true for you and Jason, but I don't think it works for everyone.
Emily: Oh. Sorry, you guys. I just have to grab a few things, and I'll be out of your way.
Elizabeth: Emily, wait.
Emily: No, no, no, I don't want to bother you guys. I'll be right back.
Lucky: Em, we found the divorce papers.
Emily: You what?
Elizabeth: I knocked over your bag by accident and it fell out.
Emily: So you just -- you just had to read through them?
Lucky: It's a divorce, Em. How long do you think you can keep this a secret?
Emily: I haven't even filed the papers yet.
Lucky: Great, then just rip them up.
Emily: Don't tell me what to do.
Elizabeth: Emily, this is crazy. You love Nikolas.
Emily: This is why I didn't want you guys to know. It's my decision, and I don't want the two of you judging me!
Elizabeth: You're divorcing Nikolas because you don't want him to know about the rape?
Emily: No, I'm divorcing him, Elizabeth, because our marriage can't work. Nikolas is in prison. And even if he gets out, I've changed. My feelings have changed. I can't stay with Nikolas. If I do, then I'm going to wind up poisoning everything that we used to have.
Lucky: What about Nikolas? Does he get a vote?
Emily: Nikolas said that he would accept whatever I chose, and I'm choosing to let go.
