Connor Bishop is also played by Tyler Christopher, who plays Nikolas Cassadine.

Nikolas: Why are you here? I didn't ask for an attorney.

Emily: I did, Nikolas, and Justus has graciously agreed to represent you.

Justus: Emily told me that you've already confessed, but I believe that there were enough procedural violations to get the confession thrown out.

Nikolas: I don't want it thrown out. I killed my grandmother. I should pay for it.

Justus: I can argue that the confession was obtained under duress and without the benefit of counsel, which is a direct violation of your civil rights.

Nikolas: Justus, I killed Helena. I'm ready to accept the consequences. Thank you for coming, but I won't be needing your services.

Justus: I think you're making a very big mistake.

Nikolas: Maybe I am.

Emily: Thanks, anyway.

Justus: I'm available if you change your mind. I'd seriously consider doing that if I were you.

Emily: Why are you doing this to yourself? Why are you doing it to me?

Emily: You're not just throwing away your own future. You're throwing away mine as well, and for what, Nikolas? Helena?

Nikolas: I'm doing this for us, Emily.

Emily: For --

Nikolas: Yeah. Well, listen to me. What kind of marriage could we have, knowing that we covered up a murder? Knowing that any second, I could be blackmailed, not just by connor, but by anyone who wanted to investigate Helena's death? That's the kind of secret that destroys a relationship, and I won't let that happen to us.

Emily: That is the most incredibly selfish thing that I have ever heard. Can't you see that you're betraying everything that we have together?

Scene was in progress at the penthouse between Jason and Sam. Jason has just left when Emily arrives.

Knock on door.

Man: Ms. McCall? Ms. Quartermaine's here to see you.

Sam: Send her in.

Emily: Thank you.

Sam: Ahem. That was fast, even for Jason. I told him I did not need a chaperone.

Emily: What? I'm sorry?

Sam: Didn't he call you?

Emily: No, no. I'm here about -- are you all right?

Sam: It depends on your definition. But you look upset, and unfortunately Jason isn't here. I'm really sorry. He's working. I have no idea when he's going to be home.

Emily: You know what, sam? I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come back here so soon --

Sam: Emily, I doubt there's much that I can do, but if you want to get something out, I'm a really good listener.

Emily: You know, sam, I don't want to dump my problems on you. You've been through enough.

Sam: You would be making me feel useful.

Emily: Nikolas confessed to Helena's murder.

Elizabeth: Hey.

Nikolas: Hi.

Elizabeth: I came as soon as I got your message. What's going on?

Nikolas: I need your help. Don't worry, I'm not going to ask you hide a dead body or cover up a murder or anything.

Elizabeth: Oh, thank God. That's a relief.

Nikolas: It's obvious that Emily and I won't be getting married next Wednesday, and it just occurred to me that we need someone to cancel things -- the florist, the caterer, tell the guests. And it's probably too late to send Emily's dress back, so maybe you can hold on to it. I just don't want it, you know, sitting in her closet as a reminder of what didn't happen.

Elizabeth: With all due respect, Nikolas, that's Emily's decision. You really shouldn't make it for her.

Nikolas: Elizabeth, I don't want Emily to put her life on hold while I spend God knows how much time in prison.

Elizabeth: So you're, what, going to break up with her?

Nikolas: At least break the engagement, yeah.

Elizabeth: You know what, Nikolas? You're being a macho, pigheaded jerk right now. Of course Emily is going to wait for you. She loves you more than anything. But she is allowed just five minutes to adjust to the choices you've made, since it affects everything she was expecting from the future. Do you know where she is right now?

Nikolas: She got mad and stormed out of here.

Elizabeth: Yeah, well, I bet she's off trying to find a way to hold on to what the two of you have together. Maybe you should try doing the same.

Emily: I can't believe that after everything we've been through, that I'm going to lose him because he tried to protect me from his witch of a grandmother.

Sam: Emily, a person really isn't lost until they're dead.

Emily: Sam, I'm so sorry. That must've sounded incredibly insensitive. This is exactly why I shouldn't be here.

Sam: No. No, no, no, no. Look, I am not trying to make you feel bad. I'm just -- I'm just trying to make you see that there's still hope. You and Nikolas love each other, and, okay, he is making a difficult choice right now, one that you feel is absolutely stupid and wrong, but it's a brave choice. And one day he's going to be out, and you're going to be waiting for him, and the two of you are going to be able to pick up where you left off. To me, that's worth holding on to.

Nikolas: Listen --

Nikolas and Emily: I'm sorry.

Nikolas: I shouldn't --

Emily: I --

Nikolas: Go ahead.

Emily: I shouldn't have stormed out the way I did, and I shouldn't have called you selfish. I was angry and afraid, and I know that you're doing what you believe is right.

Nikolas: Emily, I'm sorry that I took so much away from us.

Emily: Well, we'll deal with it. This is what it means to be a couple. For better or worse, you go through life together.

Nikolas: Yeah. Yeah, I agree. I want to marry you right --

Emily: Will you go through the --

Nikolas: Now.

Emily: What? I love you, Nikolas.

Nikolas: I love you.

Emily: And I want to be your wife, no matter what.

Nikolas: Come here.
