Emily: Zander?

Nikolas: For the most beautiful woman in the entire world.

Emily: No! No!

Nikolas: Em, wake up. You're having a nightmare. What's wrong? It's okay. It's okay. It's just a dream. I'm right here. It's just a dream. Its okay, it's okay. Shh.

Emily: I saw Zander in the park.

Nikolas: In your dream?

Emily: No, yesterday, I really saw him.

Nikolas: Emily, Zander’s dead.

Emily: He was -- he was watching me and --- you were gone for a second.

Nikolas: Well, why didn't you say anything?

Emily: I don't know. I just -- I didn't -- I didn't want it to be true.

Nikolas: Honey, it isn’t. It isn’t.

Emily: In my dream -- in my dream, he shot you.

Nikolas: Emily. Emily, look, it was a dream, okay? It's not supposed to make sense.

Emily: He wanted revenge because I broke his heart, and he -- he shot you to break mine.

Nikolas: It wasn't -- it wasn't real.

Emily: I know. I think I'm being -- I think I'm being haunted, you know. Zander would be alive if we were still married and that --

Nikolas: Don't -- don't do this to yourself, please.

Emily: I lied to his face. I made vows that I knew I couldn't keep and married him when I knew that I was falling in love with you. That night he -- he walked in on us, and he -- Zander loved that cottage, and it was our first home, and I took that from him, too! I just -- I took everything!

Nikolas: Is that why you think Zander shot me in your dream, to punish the both of us?

Emily: You're right. You're right, it was a nightmare. It's not supposed to make sense.

Nikolas: I've mastered the coffeemaker. Aren't you impressed?

Emily: Incredibly. Thanks.

Nikolas: Yeah, well, it'll take away your dreams. Once you're loaded up with caffeine, you're going to pack your bags because you're coming to Greece with me.

Emily: You know, my answer to Greece is the same as the one I gave you to Thailand and Sardinia and --

Nikolas: Is that the midterms?

Emily: Yeah. I've got to ace them all.

Nikolas: Yeah, I know. I don't want you to put too much pressure on yourself, okay?

Emily: Uh-huh, yeah, if I'm serious about medical school, I have to get the grades now and --

Nikolas: Mm-hmm.

Emily: It really is that simple, you know?

Nikolas: Well, what is your prognosis, Doctor?

Emily: Let's see. Your heart is racing and you've got a faraway look --

Emily laughs.

Emily: It must be love.

Nikolas: Isn't love supposed to make you happy?

Emily: It does. I am, but I just --

Nikolas: Look, I'm the Cassadine in this relationship, okay? I'll deal with the sense of foreboding and the nightmares and all that. Your job's just to keep reminding me that we have the rest of our lives to love each other.

Emily: Yes. Well, maybe it's that simple. You know, I'm having nightmares because I'm afraid to get everything I ever wanted or --

Nikolas: Mm-hmm, well, you know, you can control your dreams.

Emily: Really?

Nikolas: Mm-hmm.

Emily: How?

Nikolas: Close your eyes. Now, you think happy thoughts, good thoughts right before you drift off to sleep, okay? Like the vows we said to each other in the church and the moment you saw me when you thought I died in the fire.

Emily: I thought that was a dream. I was afraid to look open my eyes in case you disappeared or --

Nikolas: No, no way. Disappearing's out of the question. I love you so much, you know? I'll never let you go.

Emily: I wish I could go.

Nikolas: You will someday soon. I'll show you the island, the house.

Emily: Hmm.

Nikolas: We can go for a stroll along the cliffs, yeah.

Emily: I love the image of you as a little boy staring out at the ocean.

Nikolas: I'll be home as soon as I can, okay?

Emily: Okay. I'll be waiting.

Nikolas: You know you're the most beautiful woman in the whole world? You know that?

Emily: Well, you said that in my dream.

Nikolas: It's true. What?

Emily: Will you wear this for me?

Nikolas: Have you decided that I need divine protection?

Emily: Why not? You promise you'll never take it off?

Nikolas: Yeah, yes, I promise. I will never take it off. I'm going to miss my plane.

Emily: Just a little bit longer?

Nikolas: Em, I'm flying -- I'm flying commercial. They won't hold my flight, baby.

Emily: Well, there's always another flight and another flight after that and another flight after --

Nikolas: Oh, oh, and the sooner I go -- the sooner I go, the sooner I come home. Okay?

Emily: Okay. Nikolas, wait. I love you more than anyone, more than I ever imagined, and I always will.

Nikolas: Well, I love you, too. I'll be home soon.

Emily: Hey.

Elizabeth: Hi.

Emily: Hey, thank you for meeting me.

Elizabeth: Of course. I could tell by the tone of your voice that you could use some hot chocolate.

Emily: Yeah.

Elizabeth: Here you go.

Emily: Oh. Nikolas has -- Nikolas is on a business trip to Greece.

Elizabeth: Oh, well, how long will he be gone for?

Emily: I'm not sure. You know, less than a week. You know, I'm going to miss him, of course, but that's not what's bothering me.

Elizabeth: Is this about thinking you saw Zander?

Emily: It was -- it was in dream, Liz. I mean, it was a nightmare, really. He shot Nikolas.

Elizabeth: Well, I'm sure that was terrifying, but --

Emily: Right, but it was only a dream. I know, Liz, but some dreams have meanings.

Elizabeth: And sometimes it's a way for your mind to just work through an irrational fear.

Emily: It's not fear, Liz, it's guilt. You know, I promised Zander that I would be him for the rest of his life, and I failed him. You know, I made him believe that I could save him, and then I pulled away. You know, I found love with Nikolas, and I just -- I left Zander with nothing. And I need to ask for forgiveness and just find a way to let it go.

Elizabeth: And how are you going to do that?

Emily: I'm so sorry, Zander. I'm here to let you go and to say goodbye. But, first, I want you to know that I loved you and I'm so grateful that you loved me. God. Oh, my God.
