Emily: Now, who could that be? Jason? No, no, no, that's not -- Lucky? No -- okay, this is a tough one. Uh -- Helena?
Emily giggles.
Emily: Nikolas. What a surprise.
Nikolas: Well -- it better not be. You're a married woman now. No one else is allowed to sneak up on you.
Emily: I've been floating on air since we've said our vows.
Nikolas: Yes, which brings me to my next surprise, okay? What am I thinking right now? What am I thinking right now?
Emily: What are you thinking right now? What are you thinking? What are you thinking? I don't -- let's see -- this? This?
Nikolas: Very, very close, but no. I was thinking that our wedding should be followed by a honeymoon.
Emily: Even if the marriage wasn't real?
Nikolas: It was real, okay? It just wasn't official.
Emily: Okay.
Nikolas: All right, I want to take you someplace -- someplace remote and exotic to celebrate, all right? I was thinking maybe Bali, Moroccan Coast --
Emily: Seriously?
Nikolas: Yes, yes. I will take you anyplace in the world on one condition.
Emily: Oh, one condition, okay.
Nikolas: We leave tonight.
Nikolas: What about Thailand?
Emily: Oh, Thailand.
Nikolas: Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are in Thailand.
Emily: Oh.
Nikolas: No? Sardinia?
Emily: What?
Nikolas: The landscapes in Sardinia are beautiful. What?
Emily: You're so mean.
Nikolas: What's so mean about wanting to take you away tonight?
Emily: You're so mean. Semester isn't over yet. I still have to take my final. You know that.
Nikolas: Oh, yeah, that's right, I forgot.
Emily: I still want to go, just not right away.
Nikolas: Yeah? I was just -- I was just trying to get your mind off the pressures that our families have been putting on us -- Quartermaines bickering, Helena’s --
Emily: Oh, boy, Helena -- you think I'll ever win her over?
Nikolas: No. Not a chance.
Emily laughs.
Nikolas: Not that it matters in the least bit.
Emily: Well, you know, we are getting married, and she is your grandmother, so I guess I'm going to have to start dealing with her sooner or later. Might as well start now, huh?
Nikolas: You're a brave woman.
Emily: I am, aren't I?
Nikolas: Yes -- one of the many, many reasons I love you.
Emily: And I love you, too. And don't you worry about Helena. I'm going to find a way to handle her.
Helena: No one "handles" Helena. Now, I've dealt with more formidable opponents than you, my dear. If you attempt to antagonize me, you will deeply regret it.
Nikolas: Apologize to Emily.
Helena: Nikolas, you would be penniless if it weren't for me. You'd be signing job applications, hoping to earn a paycheck like some other peasant.
Nikolas: I said apologize to Emily.
Helena: Oh, don't be absurd. Nikolas -- Nikolas, I recovered that wonderful treasure so that I could give it to you.
Nikolas: Grandmother -- Grandmother, it's real simple -- I will not tolerate any hostility towards my fiancée, okay?
Helena: And I will not tolerate your sharing a Prince's fortune with the vulgar Quartermaines.
Nikolas: It's a fait accompli.
Helena: And you will reclaim that money, just as you will retract that ludicrous promise to provide for those unfortunates of the hotel fire.
Nikolas: The -- the money is -- for the fire victims is already in trust, Grandmother.
Helena: But, Nikolas, you cannot squander millions of dollars on total strangers. Those people are disposable. They mean nothing to us. The Cassadines didn't own that hotel. We bear no responsibility for that fire.
Emily: No, it's not about responsibility. Nikolas happens to care what happens to those fire victims.
Helena: Nikolas is too softhearted. Now, it's always been his greatest weakness.
Emily: No, it's his strength, Helena. Nikolas is a --
Nikolas: Em, hey, don't -- don't engage her, okay?
Emily: Okay.
Nikolas: It's just a waste of time. Would you please leave us alone?
Helena: I'm disappointed, Nikolas. And as you know, I don't take disappointment well.
Nikolas: You'll survive.
Helena: Survive? Survival depends on certain skills that you would be wise to acquire, such as strengthening important alliances instead of throwing them away. And you could begin by curbing your arrogance.
Emily: Whew! That was scary.
Nikolas: No, don't -- just ignore her, okay?
Emily: What about those veiled threats and --
Nikolas: Oh, she loves doing that. No, she thinks it leaves people quaking in fear, just wondering, "Oh, what's going to happen next?"
Emily: God, she won't give up.
Nikolas: It doesn't matter, okay? It doesn't matter. All right, I will not let my grandmother hurt us. Hey, we've already been through hell and back, and we're still together, and we're still in love.
Emily: Yes.
Nikolas: Okay? All right, there's nothing that can stop us now.
Emily's Voice: I, Emily, take thee, Nikolas, to be my husband. I promise to love you forever.
Priest: Where have you been? We'd given you up for lost.
Zander: I'm sorry. I think you're confusing me with somebody else.
Priest: Oh.
Zander: I've never been here before. I'm -- I'm sorry to disturb you.
Priest: Oh, no. I'm the one who should apologize. We've been expecting the new handyman. He should have been here hours ago.
Zander: Well, I hope he shows up.
Priest: You're welcome to stay. The church is open to everyone.
Zander: Thanks.
Priest: You seem troubled. Are you in need of help?
Zander: I'm still in love with the woman that I married.
Priest: Ah.
Zander: But I made a lot of mistakes. People keep telling her that she should move on, get over me.
Priest: Oh.
Zander: But I don't know. The thing is, though, I know if we could just give it a chance, we could be happy, you know. I don't know. Am I trying too hard? Should I quit and just accept that it's over and move on? What?
Priest: I've counseled a lot of couples, and the biggest mistake they make is to give up too easily. The bonds of matrimony are sacred, not to be taken lightly.
Zander: Yeah, I think so, too.
Priest: I'll leave you to your prayers.
Zander has a dream about a wedding to Emily.
Zander: I take you, Emily, to be my wife, to live together in the covenant of marriage.
Emily: I take you, Zander, to be my husband, to live together in the covenant of marriage.
Zander: I promise to love you, to honor and keep you, to be faithful to you always.
Emily: I promise to love you, honor, and keep you, and be faithful to you always.
Zander: And Emily, I -- I vow to never make the same mistakes that I've made in the past.
Emily: And I vow never to repeat the mistakes I've made. I'm so sorry I hurt you, Zander. It was wrong of me to end our marriage. But I never stopped loving you. And I'm so grateful for the second chance you're giving me.
