'Connor' is the true character of Nikolas Cassadine however, he has amnesia and believes that he is Connor Bishop.

Emily: The doctor said that -- that hypnosis can help some patients. Would you consider it?

'Connor': No, I'm -- I'm sorry. I'm not interested.

Emily: No, I'm sorry. I don't mean to push. It's not my place to tell you what to do.

'Connor': No, no, no, no, it's okay. I appreciate the suggestions. I -- the truth is I -- I do want my life back.

'Connor': I -- I want to remember. I'm just not -- not sure what to expect.

Emily: You'll find out who you were.

'Connor': But, you see, that's what throws me. The few things that I've learned about myself have absolutely no resemblance to the person Mary's described to me.

Emily: What's different?

'Connor': What's -- well, supposedly, I'm an outdoorsman and a wood carver. I mean, Mary -- she's shown me some of my carvings and they're beautiful.

Emily: Mm-hmm.

'Connor': They're beautiful, but when I tried out my carving tools, I had absolutely no idea how to use them. It's like I've never carved anything in my life.

Emily: That's odd.

'Connor': Yeah -- Mary also claims that I was lousy at languages, but as it turns out, I speak fluent Spanish and Greek.

Emily: How did that happen?

'Connor': Well, it must be related to the brain injury, I don't know, but see, this -- this is the weirdest one. When I was down in Mexico saying my vows to Mary, I had this -- you know, this sensation that someone else was speaking the words that were coming out of my mouth. It was like I -- you know, I had said them --

Emily: Like you said them before?

'Connor': Yes! Yes, exactly, but that doesn't make any sense.

Emily: Hmm.

'Connor': So I -- you know, I did some research and -- and it seems that there are documented cases of people knowing and doing things that are completely foreign to them with an injury like mine.

Emily: Hmm.

'Connor': So that's why I don't want to push myself to remember.

Emily: But what if your memories have some meaning? You know, maybe hypnosis could help you understand who you were. Isn't that worth the risk?

'Connor': I'd have to run it by Mary.

Emily: And she would support you if it were important to you, right?

'Connor': She's my wife. I'm sure she'd want what's best for me.

Emily: Um --

Emily: Let me know if you -- if you decide to try the therapy. Okay?

'Connor': Bye.

Emily: Bye.

Alexis: Thanks for coming. I wanted you to know that the bulk of the Cassadine estate is going to revert to Helena. She's challenging Nikolas' will and she's got a very strong case.

Emily: Maybe not.

Alexis: She blames you, she blames me, she blames everybody for what happened to Nikolas and she's going to wreak havoc if she gets her --

Emily: Helena won't be blaming anyone.

Alexis: She doesn't have to be justified, Emily, to do this, you know.

Emily: Alexis --

Alexis: She's not --

Emily: Alexis?

Alexis: What?

Emily: Nikolas is still alive.

'Connor': Hey.

Mary: Oh. Oh, what's up? You sounded so excited on the phone?

'Connor': No, listen, listen, something's come up. It could be the answer to everything.

Mary: No, I have everything.

'Connor': No. No, no, no, no, no. You don't -- you don't have the connor that you knew, the man you fell in love with.

Mary: Yes, I do. He's standing right in front of me.

'Connor': Just listen, listen. Just think of how much richer our life could be if I remembered who I was -- you know, my interests, my hobbies, things we used to do together, details about you, about us. You know, things that two people build their life around, Mary. Just think --

Mary: What are you talking about? Where is this coming from? I've never heard you like this before.

'Connor': Okay. Hypnosis. Wait -- it's sometimes used by people who suffered a head trauma to get lost memories back. I need to speak to a doctor right away --

Mary: No. You can't.

Emily: I saw Nikolas at Las Rocas. I could hardly believe my eyes.

Alexis: What happened?

Emily: Nikolas wandered away from the accident like we thought. He must have hurt his head because he woke up unable to remember a thing.

Alexis: He woke up where?

Emily: In the house of a woman named Mary Bishop. She's a widow. Her husband, Connor, was a marine. He died in Iraq and she was devastated. Mary told Nikolas that he was her husband, Connor. She claims that he deserted the marines so he could return to her.

Alexis: So, in effect, he was kidnapped.

Emily: Well, he doesn't know that. I mean, Nikolas is perfectly happy. He's told me all about Mary and his love for her, how wonderful she's been. I mean, they were in Mexico to renew their wedding vows.

Alexis: What? He -- he married her?

Emily: Yeah, as Connor Bishop.

Alexis: Emily, you actually sound sympathetic for this delusional woman.

Emily: I am furious, Alexis, but at the same time, I mean, I understand how pain works. I mean, the grief and the emptiness are always with you, you know, and when Mary saw Nikolas and he couldn't remember, I mean, she -- it probably seemed like a blessing, you know, like a one-in-a-million chance to replace what she'd lost. I mean, think about how overwhelming her pain must be for her to create such a fantasy. God.

Alexis: Think about Nikolas. Emily, does -- does he remember anything about his previous life?

Emily: No. But he has skills and experiences that don't fit with what Mary's told him about Connor. I mean, speaking Spanish, remembering parts of his wedding vows to me as he was saying them to her.

Alexis: You need to tell Nikolas the truth.

Emily: I watched my family drive Jason away. I don't want that to happen to Nikolas. If he remembers, he needs to do it in his own time in his own way.

Alexis: There is no time. There's no time, Emily, because Helena is hellbent on trying to regain control of the Cassadine estate. I need to tell her that Nikolas is alive.

Emily: No, Alexis. You can't say a word.

Mary: You could be blocking out certain things for a reason.

'Connor': Well, then I need to get past it, Mary. I feel -- I feel like I'm slipping further and further away. I -- I have knowledge and I have talents that make no sense. Okay? I -- I need to place them. I need to put them in context.

Mary: You told me that you couldn't imagine being any happier than you are right now.

'Connor': I am. I am. I love you, okay? It's not about being dissatisfied. It's -- it's about -- you know, it's about feeling more complete, making our lives together even richer.

Mary: I don't need anything more richer. I have you.

'Connor': It's -- no, and it's also occurred to me that there might be things that I should remember -- a secret military assignment, things I should communicate.

Mary: Hey, you don't owe anything to the marines. You gave them your life. And I couldn't bear it if you dredged up some memory that could -- that could hurt you or -- or maybe you have a suppressed memory of Iraq. I mean, the subconscious has reasons it doesn't remember things. It could be traumatic.

'Connor': I know that there are risks, but I am willing to take those risks. I need you to support me in this, Mary.

Mary: Okay. Well, if you won't do it for me and you won't stop for yourself, then at least stop for Lorenzo Alcazar.

Emily: Jason's been through this. He warned me not to pressure Nikolas or it could drive him away.

Alexis: I realize that you love your brother, but in this --

Emily: But Nikolas is happy. What right do we have to confront him with a life that he doesn't remember?

Alexis: Because it might trigger some memories.

Emily: Or it could alienate him forever, Alexis.

Alexis: I think it's worth the risk.

Emily: Not to me. Look, Nikolas and I are starting to become friends. He feels safe with me. If I told him the truth, he might look at me as some sort of an interloper, like a woman from his past who's now standing between him and Mary, and he could resent me, Alexis. I --

Alexis: I find that extremely unlikely.

Emily: You know what, you didn't know Jason before the accident. He loved my family. Now he can't stand to be in the same room with them because they wanted too much. They tried to force him to be who he was before. I won't do that to Nikolas. He needs to come back in his own time, in his own way.

Alexis: Even if Nikolas thinks that he's happy, what about you, Emily? I don't understand how you can be so patient and understanding no matter how grief-stricken you think this woman is. She married the man you happen to love.

Emily: Well, maybe Nikolas is better off. I mean, how do I know that it's not selfish to take him away from his new life?

Alexis: Keep in mind that if he does not regain his memory, he's not going to have a life, because Helena's going to gain control of the Cassadine estate, which means his money and his future.

'Connor': Would would Alcazar care? He has nothing to do with my past.

Mary: It's not your past he'd be concerned with. It's what you know about his business.

'Connor': Which is very little.

Mary: The job that Mr. Alcazar has given you has come at a price, and that price is that you stay silent.

'Connor': Which I do.

Mary: Because you're grateful for the job. But what if you go under hypnosis? You could reveal something that a doctor would be obliged to report.

'Connor': Okay. All right, fine. You and I won't say anything about the hypnosis. Alcazar never even needs to know.

Mary: Well, mr. Alcazar, he's a powerful man. He has eyes and ears everywhere. I mean, for God's sake, he could be having you followed right now.

'Connor': You're -- Mary, you're just -- you're worrying a little too much.

Mary: There are so many reasons not to do this, and what do you stand to gain? I mean, as much as our past means to me, what we have right now and our future together, it means so much more to me. Please, please just let this go.

'Connor': All right, come here. Nothing's going to happen to me, okay? Okay.

'Connor': Listen to me -- I'd be doing the hypnosis under the guidance of a doctor, okay?

Mary: There are too many ways that it could go wrong.

'Connor': Look, I really need your support in this.

Mary: We just had the most romantic wedding and honeymoon --

'Connor': I know.

Mary: And it was perfect in every way. We're finally starting to rebuild our life. And I'm so happy. You're happy, too, aren't you?

'Connor': Yes, you know I am. You know I am.

Mary: Well, then are you sure you want to risk it all?

'Connor': Hmm, that's the last thing that I want.

Mary: I love you. You know, I love you so much. And sometimes it just seems too good to be true.

'Connor': It is true.

Mary: I wish I didn't have to go back to work. I'll see you at home, right?

'Connor': Yeah. Okay. Right.

'Connor' makes a phone call on his cell.

'Connor': It's me, Connor.

Emily: I know. I mean, I recognized your voice.

'Connor': I've decided to go ahead with the hypnosis. Can you arrange it for me?

Emily: I'll set up an appointment right away.

'Connor': Okay. Thanks.

Emily: Thank me after you've done it.

'Connor': I will.

Emily: Okay. I'll call you with the date and time. Oh, God.
