Emily: Look, this insignia --
Emily and Nikolas are sitting on the couch, Nikolas is shirtless and his armband tattoo in full view. Emily is tracing the insignia in the journal.
Emily: It's exactly the same as your tattoo.
Nikolas: But what -- what's it doing in Constance Quartermaine's journal, though?
Emily: It's not -- it's not her journal. It's -- it's Blackthorn's, the pirate who took over the ship! Oh, my God. Do you think he was a Cassadine?
The camera focuses on Nikolas' arm and the tattoo. Emily is very excited. Throughout, this scene Emily is very excited and thumbs threw the pages of the journal as she talks to Nikolas.
Emily: This is amazing. I mean, this - this journal must be what? 300 years old?
Nikolas: Yeah.
Emily: So, what, why does it have an insignia that matches your tattoo? How did you choose that sign?
Nikolas: I didn't - I didn't choose it. My uncle chose it for me.
Emily: Stefan. Did he say what it meant?
Nikolas: Just that it was a tradition that dates back to the 15th century. Every - every Cassadine prince and heir has gotten the same tattoo when he's turned twenty.
Emily: Wow! So, you did too?
Nikolas: Yeah. At first I said no. I really have no use for most--most of the Cassadine traditions so, why would I get their symbol inked into my skin? It was important to my uncle and, and, ultimately I, you know I just couldn't turn him down.
Emily: The pirate must be a Cassadine!
Nikolas: Yeah. Who drowned robbing a Quartermaine ship and now we have his personal record of pillage and mayhem--
Emily: Hold on! Emily holds up her hands. Hold on! You need to read this.
Nikolas and Emily are sitting on the couch and Nikolsa begins to read a passage from the journal.
Nikolas: "Today I met the woman that I'm going to marry.
The scene fades out into the past and Nikolas and Emily relive the events through Blackthorn's discriptions. Constance is played by Natalia, Nikolai is played by Tyler and their two friends are played by Rick Hearst and Rebecca Herbst. Parrallels. The event begins with Constance and her friend walking through the garden, as they come upon to gentlemen.
Nikolai: I had no idea when I agreed to meet my friend Phillip, that he would provide me with an introduction that would change my life.
Phillip: Ahh. Miss Quartermaine.
Phillip bows and sweeps his hat in politeness.
Phillip: Lady Beresford. Allow me to introduce my friend, Prince Nikolai Cassadine, recently arrived from Russia.
Phoebe: Ohh. Russia. Have you been to London before, Prince Nikolai?
Nikolai: Several times. I plan to spend more time here in the future.
Nikolai and Constance share some longing looks.
Phillip: Yes, may I present Lady Phoebe Beresford and Miss Constance Quartermaine.
Nikolai bows and makes a production of saying hello to the women.
Nikolai: Such beauty shines brighter than any star in the galaxy, if I may say.
Constance: Yes. Thank you.
Phoebe: Constance, we'll be late for tea.
Constance: Yes, it's a pleasure.
Nikolai: Pleasure is ours, milady.
Constance goes to walk away and she stumbles slightly, being caught by Prince Nikolai.
Nikolai: Oh.
Constance: How clumsy of me.
Nikolai: On the contrary, I was admiring your grace. Are you all right?
Constance: Yes. Yes. Thank you.
Nikolai: Have a good day, milady.
Nikolai doffs his hat and the ladies go to leave. Constance turns back and meets Nikolai's eyes. Very reminiscene of the carnival gazes.
Emily: So, Prince Nikolai was really Blackthorn the Pirate.
Nikolas: Wow.
Emily: He just played the fop to cover his identity.
Nikolas: I'm sure he didn't want any...any complications.
Emily: Yeah.
Nikolas: It's obvious that Blackthorn was in love with Constance from the moment he met.
Emily is very excited and shares some huge smiles with Nikolas over these facts.
Nikolas has the journal in his hands and is by his desk when Emily comes in. Nikolas sits in his chair at the desk and Emily perches herself on the edge of the desk.
Emily: Hey.
Nikolas: All right, so -- well, Edward told me that Blackthorn planned to take both Constance and the treasure from the Courage, so -- he said that Blackthorn fired on the ship just to -- you know, just to try and disable it, but the ship started to sink, so he then boarded the ship in an attempt to, you know, save Constance. But the legend has it is that Constance was in on the attack, that she and Blackthorn planned to run off with the treasure, but the -- the ship sank with both of them still onboard and they -- they died in each other's arms.
Emily: Oh. Blackthorn was a lot like you.
Nikolas: He got himself and his girlfriend killed, Emily.
Emily: Okay, well, not exactly like you, but -- but love was more important to Blackthorn than money. He was an incredibly brave and romantic man.
Nikolas: Well, Constance, she was -- she was just as brave. She was a woman who made her own decisions. She --
Emily: Who followed her heart.
Nikolas: Like someone else I know.
Emily smiles at him and hops of the desk. She leans over his chair and they kiss intensely.
Emily: Okay.
Nikolas: Uh --
Emily grabs a chair and pulls it over beside Nikolas'.
Emily: I want to find out what happened after that first meeting in the park -- you know, how Blackthorn got to know Constance, how they fell in love, all that good stuff. Okay. Wait. Look.
Nikolas: What?
Emily had flipped through the journal and found something.
Emily: Someone -- someone ripped out a few pages from the back of the journal.
Nikolas: I doubt they were interested in the story of the doomed lovers.
Emily: Huh.
Nikolas: Let's see.
Nikolas fingers the journal and the camera focuses on a picture of the a North Direction Arrow. The camera pans to the tunnel where we see Cody spying/listening. The rest of this scene is heard as Cody is hearing them talk.
Nikolas: It -- it looks like the corner of a map or --
Emily: Do you think it could lead to more treasure?
Nikolas: That's exactly what I think.
Emily and Nikolas are still curled up in their chairs and Nikolas is looking through the journal.
Emily: So the treasure wasn't Blackthorn's, right? It was the Quartermaines'.
Nikolas: Right, but Blackthorn was an infamous pirate. He must have had his own cache of gold and jewels that he'd taken from the ships.
The camera pans back to Cody for a few minutes and then back to Nikolas and Emily.
Emily: So if a map is torn out of his journal --
Nikolas: It might show us where he stashed some of his stolen goods.
Emily: Why would a wealthy Cassadine Prince become a pirate in the first place? What, the thrill of it?
Nikolas: He must have thought it was necessary.
Emily: To steal from others when he had so much himself?
Nikolas: I don't know. What if the Prince's family had fallen on hard times and he decided it was up to him to pay off the debts and rebuild the family fortune, just like it's up to me now? Question becomes, how far am I willing to go?
Nikolas is pouring a glass of water and picks up another one. He joins Emily on the couch and hands one to her.
Emily: Thanks. Okay. "I knew nothing of Constance beyond her name. And I resolved to return to the park in hopes of seeing her again."
Baroque music plays.
Emily: "Shortly thereafter, destiny brought Constance to me for a second time."
The scene shifts back to the part with Constance looking for Prince Nikolai.
Man: Give me your jewelry, or I'll cut your throat!
A large sword is shown pressed against the man's neck and a masked man appears. It's Prince Nikolai all dressed up.
Nikolai: Get away from the lady, or you'll answer to me.
Masked Prince Nikolai who looks like Zorro fights the man and runs him off.
Nikolai: Is today your day to die? I'm inclined to believe so.
Constance: Who do I -- who do I have to thank for such a daring rescue?
Masked Zorro man kisses Constance and then walks off. Constance is stunned and sighs a lot. She looks down and sees a gold coin. She reaches down and picks it up.
The scene cuts back to regular time with Nikolas and Emily.
Emily: Sounds like Constance became a major complication in Blackthorn's life.
Nikolas: Well, I'm sure that he intended to pay court to her as Prince Nikolai, not as Blackthorn the pirate.
Emily: Well, then he shouldn't have kissed her when he saved her from the bandits.
Nikolas: He couldn't help himself. He was overwhelmed by her beauty.
Nikolas and Emily share a few kisses.
Nikolas: Maybe it's fate. Constance and Nikolai lost the treasure, and you and I were meant to find it.
More kisses!!
Ben and Cody are in the tunnels and Ben is pissed at Cody.
Ben: No one double-crosses me.
Cody: Oh, no. See, it wasn't a double-cross. I just wanted to make sure that my daughter was okay.
Ben: What kind of chump you take me for?
Cody: No, no, really. It's true, I swear. See, I can even tell you where Samantha is headed. There's this map. It shows where the pirates hid their treasure. It's like a mother lode, and it makes everything that I pulled up from the Courage look like pocket change. So Samantha tore this map out of a journal, and she took off in a plane with Sonny Corinthos.
Ben: They could be headed anywhere.
Cody: Yeah, I know, I know. But I happen to know where they are headed. The Azure Keys. We could go there first, and we could split their treasure 50/50.
Nikolas and Emily are sitting on the couch with the journal.
Emily: Okay. We need to search the grotto where the treasure was stashed. Maybe the missing pages from the journal will still be there.
They get up and go to the tunnel entrance. Nikolas opens it.
Nikolas: Well, whoever took the pages kept them to follow the map. But we might find some other clues. All right.
Emily goes ahead and sees the shadow of a man who has hung himself against the rocks. She jumps into Nikolas' arms a covers her face.
Emily: Oh, my God.
There were other scenes with Ben and Cody pestering Jax about where SAm went and derilious Sam has the treasure and the necklace with her. She was bit by a scorpion and is feeling the effects. She's feverish and tells Sonny by murmuring that she ripped pages out of the Journal and that there is more treasure!
