Connor Bishop is also played by Tyler Christopher, who plays Nikolas Cassadine.>

Elizabeth: Hey. I came as soon as I got your message. What's going --?

Nikolas: I'm worried about Emily. She was really upset when they took me back into custody. I'm afraid she's going to do something desperate.

Emily: Okay, Judge Woods?

Judge Woods: Mrs. Cassadine?

Emily: Yes, that's right. Thank you for agreeing to meet with me. My husband doesn't belong in prison, and I need to explain why.

Nikolas: I thought she was going to be all right, but she's not.

Elizabeth: Nikolas, Emily wanted to marry you.

Nikolas: Yeah, and her family warned her that it would break it heart, and it did.

Elizabeth: No, her heart is not broken. Her love for you is the one thing she is certain about.

Nikolas: When the police came to take me back, she fell apart. She was crying, she was holding onto me, begging them not to let me go.

Elizabeth: Of course it was a terrible moment.

Nikolas: It could be more than just a moment. It could be years, decades before I get out of here.

Elizabeth: She'll handle it.

Nikolas: Emily deserves a life, even if it doesn't include me. She can't see what's ahead. I can't see what's ahead. But someday she might -- you know, she might meet someone else, someone she wants to have a family with, and I have to --

Elizabeth: Okay, Nikolas, stop, okay? Emily will always love you, just as you will always love her.

Nikolas: I just keep seeing her face when they took me away, Liz. She was devastated.

Elizabeth: You need to have a little faith in her. Emily is amazingly strong, and she promised to love you for better or worse, and she will.

Emily: Nikolas killed Helena to save my life. I would have sworn that under oath if the case had gone to trial.

Judge Woods: Mr. Cassadine confessed to throwing his grandmother off a cliff.

Emily: Helena had tried to kill me more than once. She put a knife to my throat and she tried to shove me over the side of a cliff.

Judge Woods: Mr. Cassadine stopped her, and, by his own admission, the knife had fallen from her hand the time --

Emily: He was protecting me. Nikolas is a good and moral person. His grandmother was a psychopath.

Judge Woods: The law doesn't see it that way.

Emily: Helena swore that she would keep trying to kill me until she succeeded. It wasn't an idle threat. She had killed before, and she always managed to avoid prosecution.

Judge Woods: I'm sorry. As much as I admire your defense of your husband, he --

Emily: Ask the police for a copy of Helena Cassadine’s file. Don't try to read it all. Just skim the headlines and a portrait will emerge -- not of a woman who's frail and helpless, but of a truly evil woman. Please, consider the history and the character of this so-called victim before you sentence my husband.

Judge Woods: All right. I won't promise anything, but I'll look into it further.

Emily: Thank you. Thank you.

Monica: Hello.

Emily: Hi.

Alan: Hey! I didn't know you were here.

Emily: Yeah, I just stopped by to get a few things.

Monica: Well, can you stay for a while?

Emily: Oh, thanks Mom, but I want to get back to the police station to see Nikolas.

Alan: I know this is difficult for you.

Emily: Yeah. It was hard, you know, when they came to take Nikolas back, but I'm feeling better now that I’ve spoken to the judge.

Monica: You talked to the judge? Emily, you are a Quartermaine. That could be construed as bribery.

Emily: Mom, I only asked the Judge to consider Helena’s criminal history, and he said that he would. So he's going to take a look at her file, he's going to see a long pattern of psychotic behavior, and hopefully he'll decide to give Nikolas a suspended sentence.

Alan: Listen, Em, you mustn't get your hopes up. Nikolas confessed to murder. He's going to be in prison a long time.

Emily: I'll appeal the sentence or I'll go to the Governor and ask him for clemency.

Monica: And meanwhile, Emily, you're going to be all alone.

Emily: I'm going to visit Nikolas as often as I'm allowed.

Alan: Years of appeals, prison visits? Is that the kind of life you want?

Emily: Why can't you understand? Nikolas is my life.

Nikolas: Time for me to go back down?

Officer: You'll probably want to see this first.

Nikolas: Annulment papers. Courtesy of my wife's grandfather. Oh, see? It says here he wants me to do the right thing. Um -- I'm going to need some time to think about this. Is there any rush to get me back down to lockup?

Officer: Take all the time you need.

Nikolas: Thanks. Wait. Could I -- could I borrow your pen?

Nikolas is in the interrogation room with the papers. We can see him struggling with his decisions. He reaches down to sign the papers...

Emily: Hi. Nikolas, what are those?

Nikolas: Annulment papers. Your grandfather had them sent over. He expects me to do the right thing.

Emily: Nikolas, we already agreed on this.

Nikolas: I know. I know.

Emily: You and I agreed that we didn't care what anyone else thought.

Nikolas: I know, I know. But what kind of life can I give you --

Emily: Nikolas --

Nikolas: From a prison cell, Emily?

Emily: You're the only man that I’ll ever love, all right? I married you --

Nikolas: I know.

Emily: Till death do us part. So unless you've decided that you don't love me anymore --

Nikolas: No, no, no. I'll always love you. You know that.

Emily: Okay, then we just need to have faith. Maybe the Judge will be lenient and give you a shorter sentence.

Nikolas: What if he doesn't?

Emily: Then we'll face it together. For better, for worse.

Nikolas: Okay.

Nikolas: I love you.

Emily: I love you, too.
