Mary: Hi. I'm glad to see you.
Nikolas: I doubt I'll be good company, but --
Mary: Is there something wrong?
Nikolas: Why are you here?
Emily: I'm meeting Lucky.
Nikolas: Just happened to choose this club?
Emily: That's right.
Nikolas: Hmm. And no chance you're following me?
Nikolas: Is this your latest way to look after me? Show up wherever I go, watch from a distance; make sure I don't get into trouble?
Emily: Look, if you want me to leave, I'll leave.
Nikolas: I want you to be honest with me.
Nikolas: One minute you agree to keep your distance, the next you swear you'll never give up on me. Which is it?
Emily: I can't promise to stop loving you, but I'm trying to give you the room you need, and I truly had no idea that you were going to be here tonight.
Emily: Did you ever get around to scheduling that therapy session?
Nikolas: Uh-uh. No, there's no point. I mean, I'll either remember or I won't.
Emily: And don't you want to?
Nikolas: It's the wanting, Emily, that makes everything so difficult. To spend all day, every day, wanting something that may never happen wears you down, burns you out, you know?
Emily: Just don't give up, Nikolas, please? There's so much waiting for you.
Lucky: Em? I'm sorry I'm late. Is everything okay?
Nikolas: Emily was just saying she didn't follow me here.
Lucky: She didn't.
Nikolas: Oh, well, maybe someone should leave.
Lucky: There's the door.
Nikolas: Enjoy your evening.
Emily: Lucky, let's go. Come on, he's in a terrible mood.
Lucky: No, he's the one who should be leaving.
Emily: Look, he's still Nikolas. He's still the person we love. He's angry and confused, and he hurts all the time, Lucky. Doesn't he deserve a little extra patience?
Nikolas: Oh -- no, I'm sorry it took so long. Come on, sit down. I didn't mean to leave you alone.
Mary: I was just about to make a graceful exit.
Nikolas: I'm glad you didn’t.
Mary: Me, too.
Mary: Do you want to order dinner?
Nikolas: No. I'm not really that hungry, but you go ahead.
Mary: It might help to get something in your stomach.
Nikolas: Help with what?
Mary: You're drinking a lot.
Nikolas: I'm sorry; I’m used to it. You go ahead, though.
Emily: Thanks for giving me time to warn Jason.
Lucky: That's a nice try, but I know you're not thinking about your brother.
Emily: I don't know what to do for Nikolas. I don't know how to make it better.
Lucky: You can't, Em, all right? You just have to make it better for you. You can't live your own life setting yourself up to get hurt, okay?
Nikolas: Hey -- get your hands off of her!
Emily: Nikolas, what --
Nikolas: You get your hands off her!
Emily: Nikolas, stop! Okay, just stop!
Man: He jumped him out of nowhere.
Mary: It was a mistake. He just had too much to drink.
Officer: That's no excuse for assault, ma'am.
Emily: Look, it was one punch. Really, there's no problem. We'll all just go home. I --
Officer: Lucky, I should write this up. But if you want to call in a favor --
Nikolas: No. No, no, you go ahead, Lucky! You have your brother, the violent drunk -- drunk, sent back to the island where he belongs, where he can't be a danger to himself and everybody else! You go ahead and do that, Lucky! Go ahead and do that!
Lucky: Send him to lockup.
Mary: No --
Emily: Lucky --
Mary: Wait -- you're hateful, both of you!
Emily: You can't do this! What are you doing?
Nikolas: Don't you stand up for me!
Emily: How could you do that to him?
Lucky: You know what? He's out of control. You know what? Just pretending he's not is only going to make it worse.
Emily: All you've done is push him further away, Lucky.
Nikolas: I don't need you! I don't need any of you!
