Emily: I volunteer a few times a week. What about you?

Counselor: What happened to the young woman who was just here?
Emily: Practically ran out. I --
Counselor: Hmm. She must have reconsidered.
Emily: She's here for counseling?
Counselor: She wants to terminate a pregnancy.
Emily: Should I go after her?
Counselor: It's better not to. She needs to think.
Emily: She's really upset. I --

Emily: Sam, are you here?
Sonny: I didn't realize you two were friends.
Sam: Yeah, we're -- we're actually more like acquaintances, though.
Emily: We got to know each other at the hospital -- uh -- dealing with Michael.
Sam: Yep, that's right.
Emily: Yeah -- um -- I'm having a tough time with losing Nikolas, and Sam’s been a huge help. But if you're in the middle of something, I can come back later.
Sam: No, no, that's okay. Stay, please.
Emily: Are you sure?
Sam: Uh-huh. I know what it's like to need a friend.
Sonny: No, hey, you know what? I'm going to go because -- um -- I appreciate what you've done for Michael.
Emily: Yeah. I'm just glad he's okay.
Sonny: And I'll call you, okay?
Sam: Okay. Sounds good.

Emily: You didn't tell him you're pregnant.
Sam: No. Emily, you can't, either. You have to promise me. Sonny can't know about this.
Sam: I knew when you saw me at the clinic, you'd figure it out.
Emily: It's not the clinic's fault, Sam. They're scrupulous about patient privacy, but you seemed so upset. It wasn't hard to figure out.
Sam: It looks like I got pregnant on purpose, but I swear, I didn’t. I mean, it must have happened the night of the hotel fire because everything was so crazy. God -- I cannot deal with a baby. There is no possible way.
Emily: It's a huge decision, Sam. Please, just give yourself time to consider all of your options.
Sam: I don't have any options! Emily, I live on a boat! I can't have a baby in my life. I have no -- I have no family, I have no insurance, I have no money! I don't have anything!
Emily: Does Sonny suspect anything?
Sam: No! No! And he'll go back to Carly. Any fool can see that. I was -- I was just pretending not to. But once he finds out about this baby --
Emily: Well, he'll stay with Carly and he'll take care of you, Sam. Listen, it won't be perfect, but it's worth thinking about.
Sam: After tonight, there won't be anything to think about. Anyway, I would make a really terrible mother. I mean, I don't even like kids. And I'd probably just end up ditching it, like my mom ditched me. So this -- this way is best for everyone.
Emily: Then why do you have tears in your eyes?
Jason: Emily?
Emily: Nikolas and I planned to have children someday. Do you ever think about it? I mean, you and Courtney?
Jason: I don't think about what can't happen.
Emily: Losing a baby. That must have been awful.
Jason: Yeah, it was.
Emily: God. But to deliberately terminate a pregnancy, you know? To feel that's your only choice, you know? Especially when you love the father. God, I can't imagine how difficult that would be.
Jason: Why are you thinking about this?
