'Connor' is the true character of Nikolas Cassadine however, he has amnesia and believes that he is Connor Bishop.
Emily: I'm sorry for getting so upset. It was selfish.
Lucky: Hey. You know what -- you could never be selfish.
Emily: Then explain how I’m acting right now, Lucky. I mean, Michael’s in there, he's fighting for his life, and I'm out here feeling sorry for myself.
Lucky: You know what, Emily; you've been through hell the past few weeks. You're afraid for Michael and it's okay. It's all right if it gets to you.
Emily: He's such a sweet little guy and he's so sick right now.
Lucky: You know what? Michael’s going to get through this. I mean the kid's part Spencer, he's Quartermaine, and he's a Corinthos. If you ask me, that's pretty indestructible.
Emily: I hope you're right. You know, I think -- I think losing Nikolas has made it harder for me to trust that things will work out. You know it's like there's this giant fist around my heart and it's trying to squeeze the life out of me. It's like a constant dull ache. I'm not sleeping at night, but I can't get out of bed in the morning, either. And then, you know, I think that Nikolas wouldn't want me to quit. And so I get out of bed in the morning and I just try to face the day without him.
'Connor': Didn't realize you were so afraid of the water.
Mary: I'm sorry.
'Connor': Don't be sorry, Mary, just tell me what's going on. Why are you so afraid to be with me?
Mary: I want to be with you.
'Connor': Then what's stopping you? I --
Mary: You don't know me. Not really. Every time I think about being with you, I -- I just freeze up. And it's not fair, but I have all these expectations of the way we were before.
'Connor': Before? But you said we share this amazing past, that -- that we've been in love since you were 15. I --
Mary: And you don't remember any of it. In a way, it's like it's the first time for both of us, and I know it's ridiculous, but I’m shy. I feel awkward. I keep thinking I'm going to disappoint you.
'Connor': Are you afraid I don't love you?
Emily: They've got Michael on clotting medication and we're waiting to see if it works.
Courtney: I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions, but you and Lucky just looked so upset, so --
Emily: No, I -- I had a bad moment and Lucky let me lean on him.
Lucky: Yeah. Unfortunately, they're not letting anyone see Michael right now.
Courtney: Okay. Well, then I guess all we can do is wait, just keep believing in Michael.
Lucky: Listen, I need to head back to the station, so you call me if there's any news.
Emily: Of course.
Lucky: See you.
Courtney: You know, I was really hoping I could slip in and see Michael.
Emily: They'll probably make an exception for you. I don't want to crowd the I.C.U., but you're Sonny's sister.
Courtney: Yeah. Sonny doesn't want me there.
Emily: Of course he does.
Courtney: No. Um, Emily, I -- I broke the rules. Sonny told me he doesn't want me anywhere near his family.
Emily: Look, whatever Sonny says right now is just stress and worry.
Courtney: There's no reasoning with my brother, Emily. I mean, I did something he didn't approve of and now I’m nothing to him.
Emily: You're his sister, Courtney. If you want proof, ask Michael. I mean, his answer will be simple and true. You're his aunt. No matter how mad Sonny gets, he can't change the way those boys feel about you. You'll be Michael’s family for the rest of his life.
Courtney: God, I love that little kid so much.
Emily: Me, too. And until we know he's in the clear, we can hope together.
Mary: You've been wonderful; kind and gentle and, most of all, patient.
'Connor': No. No, that would be you. I'm sorry. Go ahead.
Mary: The truth is I feel guilty because I’m the reason you're in this situation, and I'm at least partly responsible for the fact you can't remember.
'Connor': Did -- did you hit me on the head?
Mary: No.
'Connor': No, no. Then it's not your fault.
Mary: But I asked you to desert.
'Connor': And I chose to do it, Mary. You can't blame yourself for my -- for my actions and their consequences.
Mary: Okay, maybe you're right, but I can't change what I feel inside.
'Connor': No. No, there's something else, something -- something you're not saying. What is it?
Mary: No.
'Connor': Mary, what -- you can tell me the truth. Was I -- was I abusive before? Did I -- did I do anything like that?
Mary: Never. No.
'Connor': And I'm not just talking about physical abuse, okay? Maybe I had an affair. Maybe I betrayed you in some other way.
Mary: You never loved anybody else but me, and you were the strongest and kindest and most sensitive man I’ve ever known.
'Connor': Then what is this about? I'm your husband. You're supposed to be my best friend. If you can't talk to me, then who can you talk to?
Mary: I want to be with you. I wanted to be with you since the very first night that you -- that you came back to me, but every time we get close, this little voice goes off in my head, and it says, "This won't last. You're going to lose him again."
'Connor': Mary? Mary? This is my home. Where would I go?
Emily: Lucky thinks Michael’s indestructible. He's a genetic mix of Spencer-Quartermaine, and he was raised as a Corinthos on top of it.
Courtney: Well, Lucky’s got a point. You know, when I first started hanging out with Michael, I think he must have cheated death at least five times an hour. I mean, he would fly up and down the stairs; he would jump across a glass coffee table, whiz in and out of crowds on his rollerblades.
Emily: Sounds like his aunt. Aren't you the original danger girl?
Courtney: Nah. Not where Michael’s concerned. I mean, God, I would follow him around, you know, check up on him, make sure he was okay. He'd even laugh at me.
Emily: Oh, God, little brat.
Courtney: Yeah. And then afterwards he would tear off again, and I'd look at Carly and think, "How can you not be freaking out every single second?" Well, I guess it comes with being a parent, right?
Emily: You know, Michael’s strong, Courtney. He'll fight to survive.
Courtney: Yeah.
Emily: And the doctors are really good here.
Courtney: Mm-hmm. Besides, what doctor's going to let Sonny Corinthos' son suffer?
Emily: The whole staff's probably terrified.
Courtney: Yeah. Maybe just this once that's a good thing.
Emily: Hey. Do you have any news?
Jason: Michael's back. He's going to be fine.
Emily: Oh, my God. Thank God.
Jason: Oh.
Jason: The doctor said there was no medical reason for Michael to pull through, but he did.
Emily: God, Carly and Sonny must be so relieved.
Jason: They're with him right now. I just want to thank you for sticking this out with me.
Emily: Hey, where else would I be?
Courtney: I'd like to see Michael -- I mean, just long enough to see that he's okay.
Emily: People have tried to keep me away from you for years, Jase, and I never let them. Don't stand in Courtney’s way.
Courtney: Look, I'll just -- I'll just go up to the window and knock and blow him a kiss, and then I’ll leave.
Jason: Courtney, I just -- I don't -- I don't think it's a good idea. I mean, Sonny's with him right now. Maybe you could just come back later?
Mary: Nothing's certain in this world, Connor. When the war broke out, I realized no matter how much I love you; I can't be sure you won't die or leave.
'Connor': Mary, Everyone worries about losing people they love. Everyone does.
Mary: No, you still haven't remembered us. And part of me just knows that as soon as your past comes back, I'll lose my husband for good.
'Connor': That -- see, that doesn't make any, any sense to me. We'll be stronger if I remember, don't you --
Mary: One day -- one day in the future. It could be next week, it could be in a month, 10 years from now, you'll remember who you were. And you'll remember the promises that I forced you to break, your commitment to another life.
'Connor': You're talking about me being a soldier?
Mary: No. No, I'm talking about my own fears. I mean, part of the reason why I’m not sleeping with you is to protect myself -- and I know it sounds insane, but it's real to me. And one day you're going to understand. All the pieces -- no, listen. All of the pieces are going to fall into place and you're going to finally understand what I meant.
'Connor': No, I -- I understand. I think I understand, okay? I made an oath to fight for my country. I don't remember why it's so important to me or even wanting to do it, but I obviously took it seriously. Right?
Mary: I forced you to break your word.
'Connor': You're afraid -- you're afraid that I’ll feel obligated to turn myself in if I remember, right? But, see, what you're not considering, Mary, is that you are my wife. You are my wife. I made an oath to you, too.
Mary: You would give up everything else for me?
'Connor': Yes. Yes. I mean, nothing can really take me away from you. Even if I do turn myself in, even if I do, I'll serve my time and just trust that you'll wait for me.
Mary: I'd wait forever. I would. But that won't help it. One day, my husband is going to disappear from my life forever, and I don't know any better way to explain it than that.
'Connor': Then look in my eyes -- look in my eyes -- and believe in me. I will never leave you again.
'Connor': All right, you can come out now.
Mary: You made dinner.
'Connor': Come on, you had to know you couldn't stall me forever.
Mary: You didn't have to go to any trouble.
'Connor': Just -- just think of it as me being selfish, okay? Sit down. I wanted to see you smile again, and now you are.
Mary: Thank you.
'Connor': You're welcome.
Mary: You know, come to think of it, I’m -- I'm starving.
'Connor': Yeah?
Mary: I can't wait to see what you put together.
'Connor': Uh-uh -- it's an ancient delicacy, okay?
Mary: Don't keep me in suspense.
'Connor': Okay. On three, okay?
Mary: Okay.
'Connor': Ready? One, two, three.
Mary laughs.
'Connor': What do you think?
Mary: PB & J!
'Connor': I don't even know if I like it, but I couldn't remember how to make anything else.
Mary: I love it. And I love you.
'Connor': Ahem.
Audrey: Right. Okay. Oh, hello, Emily!
Emily: Hey, Audrey!
Audrey: That was Elizabeth. She's so happy to hear that Michael is doing better and, of course, she sends her love.
Emily: Aw. Is she okay?
Audrey: Well, she's a little sad, but at least she's resting, and I'm going to Napa for the delivery.
Emily: Oh. I wish I could go along.
Audrey: You have school, and Elizabeth does understand, dear. So, are these for Michael, the balloons?
Emily: Yes. Can he have them in the I.C.U.?
Audrey: Well, I don't see why not.
Emily: Good. Thank you, Audrey.
Audrey: All right. Bye-bye.
Emily: Hi.
Courtney: Hi. Emily, that's so great. Michael loves balloons.
Emily: Well, I was hoping that you could deliver them for me. I have to call my mom and give her an update on her grandson.
Courtney: Thank you.
Emily: You're his family. Go act like it.
'Connor': Are you sure?
Mary: Yes.
'Connor': Yeah?
Mary: I want to be with you, Connor.
Knock on door.
Emily: Mary? It's Emily.
