'Connor' is the true character of Nikolas Cassadine however, he has amnesia and believes that he is Connor Bishop.
Emily: I'll just grab some dry clothes and we can head back down to the river.
Ric: No -- Emily, you didn't get much sleep last night, and you've been out with Lucky’s search team since dawn.
Emily: No, I'm fine. I want to keep looking for Nikolas.
Ric: Look, I'm sorry, Emily, but if we don't find Nikolas in the next 24 hours, I'm afraid I’m going to have to call off the search.
'Connor': What are you looking at?
Edward: Where in blazes is Ned? He hasn't answered his cell in an hour.
Alan: Ned's at the accident site. He'll call us as soon as he knows something.
Edward: What have you heard from Emily? I mean, that poor girl's going to drive herself to the brink.
Door opens.
Alan: Ned --
Monica: There you are.
Alan: Have you seen Emily?
Monica: Any sign of Nikolas?
Edward: Why didn't you bring her home with you?
Ned: There's nothing new on Nikolas, and Emily went to Wyndemere to change her clothes.
Edward: She -- what, she fell in the river?
Ned: No, no, but she's been searching for hours.
Alan: Does she realize that there's a strong possibility Nikolas won't be found alive?
Monica: And, Alan, don't be so pessimistic. She and Nikolas have weathered a lot worse this year.
Edward: All for nothing.
Monica: Don't say that, either! Come on, she would be lost without Nikolas.
Edward: That girl is more of a Quartermaine than any of you. She can survive anything -- even the Cassadines.
Ned: Well, let's hope she doesn't have to.
Edward: Well, the family is going to have to help her get over Nikolas, aren't they?
Monica: And that is the last thing she would want to hear.
Alan: You better listen to me. You drove both my sons out of this house -- you're not going to do it to Emily!
Edward: You calm down. All of you, calm down. Now, it's obvious I didn't like Nikolas -- at first. The Cassadines -- they're a scourge. He was different, and she loves him. And whether he lives or dies, Emily has to be supported by the family. So it's time to take matters into our own hands.
Mary: I knocked it off the mantel. I -- I guess it just got me thinking.
'Connor': The craftsmanship on this is beautiful. I can't imagine how much work it must've taken to create something like this.
Mary: You carved it yourself.
'Connor': What?
Mary: Your father taught you how to carve when you were just a little boy. I don't think you really developed an appreciation for it until you joined the military. You used to send me carvings from all over the world.
'Connor': I enjoyed this?
Mary: Very much. I could watch you for hours. You were so focused and lost in the detail. And then you'd climb into bed at dawn, smelling of wood and stain. And you'd hold me quietly, like this.
'Connor': I don't remember that.
Mary: You will.
Mary: I should go to the store before it closes. Is there anything special you want?
'Connor': No. No, but thank you, anyway.
Mary: I'll bring you back some gingersnaps. They were always your favorite.
Emily: You can't call off the search until you know Nikolas is home safe, Ric.
Ric: Emily, I’m not trying to be insensitive here. It's just that I’ve pulled men off of other cases in order to help with the search, and other areas of the department are starting to suffer.
Emily: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Ric. I know that you've been pulling strings to keep the search going as long as you have and --
Ric: You and Nikolas are Elizabeth’s best friends. I'm happy to be in a position where I can help.
Emily: I know.
Elizabeth: Hi, you guys.
Emily: Hey.
Ric: Hi, sweetheart.
Elizabeth: Hi, honey.
Emily: Thanks for coming, but there's no news yet.
Elizabeth: I know. Ric told me he was bringing you home.
Emily: Just to change clothes. We have to go right back out, Ric.
Elizabeth: Honey, don't you think you should hang out and warm up? You got to be freezing.
Emily: Right, and there's no hurry, right? I know you both think that this is a lost cause.
Elizabeth: No one's saying that.
Ric: We're hopeful.
Emily: Okay, this isn't denial. I'm not refusing to face reality. I am going on faith and example. Nikolas survived the fire. He is the strongest person that I have ever met!
Elizabeth: We have all seen Nikolas do some amazing things.
Ric: Look, I'll do everything that I can to keep the search going.
Phone rings.
Elizabeth: Oh, let's hope that's good news.
Ric: Lansing. I'm -- I’m sorry, it's not about Nikolas. Where's Sonny now? Okay. Okay, I'm on my way.
Elizabeth: What happened?
Ric: Sonny shot somebody in Carly’s living room. I have to go.
Elizabeth: Wait, can't you just let the police take care of it?
Ric: It's a homicide, sweetheart. Look, I'll check in with the search team as often as I can. Don't worry, we'll find him. I'll call you.
Emily: Okay, I should get back to the search.
Elizabeth: Wait, wait, Em. Here, just -- just have something hot to drink first, okay?
Emily: Oh, Elizabeth, thank you. Listen, I know you're worried about Nikolas, but is there something else, too?
Elizabeth: Well, I'm worried about you.
Emily: All right. Well, talk to me. All of this waiting and obsessing is awful. I want to hear about somebody else's problems.
Elizabeth: It's nothing, really.
Emily: Come on, Elizabeth, spill it. You've been distracted ever since Ric left.
Elizabeth: Oh God, I just wish he could focus on searching for Nikolas instead of the latest Sonny drama.
Emily: Are you afraid he's going to slip into old habits?
Elizabeth: From the first time I met him, every choice Ric has made has been about his feelings of betrayal from his family and his resentment of Sonny.
Emily: I thought he was past all that.
Elizabeth: Yeah, well, that's what I keep telling myself, but then I find myself just questioning him all over again. You know, it's really not fair. I -- just the other day I told him how much I believed in us and that I knew he had changed. But when it comes to his brother, Ric loses all perspective. And the truth is I’m just not sure that he will ever get past his issues with Sonny.
Elizabeth: You know, Ric has been really wonderful to me. When I thought that I had killed Zander, he talked to me about how hard it was to live with your mistakes, and the only way to make up for them was to live your life the best you can and just do right by others.
Emily: Well, that's good advice.
Elizabeth: Yeah, but I'm still worried, no matter how hard I try not to be. Nothing seems to shake your faith in Nikolas. Why can't I trust Ric the same way?
Monica: Hi.
Alan: Hey.
Monica: Hi, Elizabeth. Is there any news?
Emily: Not yet. What are you guys doing here?
Edward: We've come to take you home.
Alan: What Father means is we've come to help you.
Monica: We know how worried you are.
Ned: Which is completely understandable. So you just focus on Nikolas, and we'll take care of you.
Edward: Alice has your room all ready for you.
Emily: Listen, I really appreciate the thought, but I can't leave.
Edward: Sweetheart, it does you no good to grieve alone.
Emily: Grandfather, Nikolas is missing, but he isn't dead.
Edward: Emily, it's been over 24 hours. You haven't heard a word from him.
Emily: All right, no, wait, listen, this just like after the fire. You all thought that I was in denial, that there was no way that Nikolas could survive, but he proved you wrong. Nikolas is alive, and when he comes back, we're going to get married; we're going to spend the rest of our lives together.
Alan: We're all hoping that Nikolas will be found alive.
Ned: I was down at the crash site. The rescue effort is very impressive.
Edward: We simply hate to see you suffer alone, darling.
Emily: I appreciate the concern and I'm glad you're here.
Alan: We love you, sweetheart. If you're hurting, we're hurting.
Ned: That's right, and that's why we thought it would be better if you came home.
Emily: If Kristina or Brooke Lynn were missing -- or mom, or grandmother -- would any of you give up?
Elizabeth: Emily just needs to do what she thinks is right.
Emily: I'm not giving up. How can I? I'm a Quartermaine. We get what we want, no matter what.
Mary: Connor?
'Connor': I found my carving tools.
Mary: How did you know where to find them?
'Connor': I didn't. I just kept going through stuff.
Mary: Well, if you want anything else, just ask. I'll tell you where to find it.
'Connor': The carving in the box was unfinished. It could've been beautiful, but I ruined it.
Mary: Oh, Connor --
'Connor': It doesn't make any sense! You said I’ve -- you said I've been carving since I was a boy, but I don't remember how to use any of these tools! It's like I've never done this before! This can't be my life!
Emily: More food?
Elizabeth: Well, I figured sleeping was out of the question, so maybe we could watch a movie.
Emily: Elizabeth, you know I can’t.
Elizabeth: You're going back to the accident site, aren't you?
Emily: Yes. I don't have a choice. Nikolas needs me.
'Connor': I made -- I made the mess. Let me do that, okay?
Mary: No, I don't mind.
'Connor': Stop -- please stop. Stop. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I lost my temper with you, okay?
Mary: It must be awful not being able to recognize your own life. I can't relate, but I can -- I can sympathize. I was lost before you came back to me, and now it's my turn to help you.
'Connor': I really appreciate your patience.
Mary: I shouldn't have told you about your carving.
'Connor': No, no, no. No, I want you to tell me who I was before.
Mary: All that matters is who you are now. You're Connor, my husband, and I'm your wife, and I’m going to help you get through this any way that I can.
'Connor': I just -- I'm not sure I deserve that kind of devotion.
Mary: I love you, Connor. I always have, and I always will.
