Nikolas: Do you want me to stop?

Emily: No.

Zander: Look, Lydia, Nikolas lived in that house. He knows how the power works.

Lydia: This may be a wild idea, but I'll bet a neighbor or a friend could manage to find the fuse box. Or wilder yet, Emily could have called you.

Zander: I left my cell phone at home.

Lydia: Do you ever stop making excuses for her?

Zander: Okay, look, Lydia, I get why you're insecure about your husband. He married you for money, but my wife married me for love.

Lydia: Wake up, newlywed. Our spouses are in love. If you don't keep the power going in your house in every sense of the word, Emily will be gone and you'll be left out in the cold just like I am.

Zander: You want Emily to ignore me the way that Nikolas ignores you, misery loves company, and you hate being the only one who's hurt and rejected.

Lydia: So Nikolas and Emily are in love in your cozy little love nest on a dark, stormy night, but that's not a problem because Emily loves you.

Emily: I'm sorry.

Nikolas: I know. I'm sorry, too.

Emily: Oh, I want you, Nikolas.

Nikolas: I want you, too.

Emily: I've never wanted anyone in my entire life, but I'm married to Zander.

Nikolas: I know. I know. I didn't come here with ulterior motives. You know that, right?

Emily: I know. I know you didn't. I don't know. Maybe it was wrong of me to call.

Nikolas: No, no, no, I wanted to help, but I guess I should have just left it at that.

Emily: If the lights hadn't come back on --

Nikolas: Well, maybe a sign from God?

Emily: I don't know. Maybe just a lucky break.

Nikolas: Depends on who you ask. You're so beautiful.

Emily: I'm a liar, because I've been lying to myself that I could keep my feelings for you in a special place in my heart and never make them real.

Nikolas: Yeah, I know. Maybe it's impossible to love someone and keep it locked away. I mean -- I mean, I look at you, and all my best intentions -- they just disappear. And nothing else in the world seems to matter to me but loving you.

Emily: I feel the same way. There's only one solution.

Nikolas: What's that?

Emily: We can never be alone again with no one to pull us back from the edge. We have to make sure someone else is always around.

Nikolas: Okay.

Zander: Thank you, Penny. Look, Lydia, if you're going to get paranoid like this every time Emily and Nikolas are together, then you're going to wind up in a padded cell.

Lydia: So Nikolas is welcome in your home anytime?

Zander: I didn't say that.

Lydia: What? He can only come over when Emily needs a little handy work done?

Zander: Okay, Lydia, I get why you're like this. You're in a marriage with a guy that doesn't even like you. I mean, that's got to wreak havoc on your ego.

Lydia: At least I'm willing to face the facts instead of hiding in some romantic fantasy. Emily is in love with Nikolas. She has been for months. It's the reason that you broke up with her.

Zander: That's in the past.

Lydia: You think Emily's feelings for Nikolas have just evaporated into thin air?

Zander: Emily never would have married me if she was in love with Nikolas.

Lydia: So that's why Nikolas is with her right now and you aren't?

Zander: Okay, Lydia, I wouldn't put it past Nikolas to try and make a move on my wife, but if he does, Emily's going to turn him down.

Lydia: Hmm. Pure, faithful Emily.

Zander: Emily loves me. She'd never cheat on me.

Lydia: Keep telling yourself that if it makes you happy, right up until the moment you walk in on your wife with Nikolas in bed.

Emily: Oh, this can't happen.

Nikolas: It already is. You want me to stop?

Emily: No. Oh, I love you. I always have. Make love to me.

Glass shatters.

Zander: You sure you don't want me to give you a ride home?

Cindy: No, thanks. I'll be all right. I live pretty close by.

Zander: All right. Well, I meant what I said. Use that number if you need to.

Cindy: I will.

Zander: Take care of yourself.

Cindy: And maybe I'll give you a call sometime, even if I'm not in distress.

Zander: It's fine by me.

Zander: So I spoke to Lydia.

Nikolas: Mm-hmm.

Zander: She said you were over at my house.

Nikolas: So you're with some girl at Kelly's while your wife is at home alone in the middle of a thunderstorm?

Zander: I don't owe you an explanation.

Nikolas: And what would she think about you giving your phone number out?

Zander: You have no idea what's going on.

Nikolas: Hmm?

Zander: You have no idea what's going on.

Nikolas: Oh, you don't care about your wife's feelings?

Zander: Why are you so concerned about my wife? Except for the fact that when she called you, you ran right over to my house.

Nikolas: I went over to fix the power, Zander. I had no other intention except to do that.

Zander: Of course you did. So go for it. Go for it. But it doesn't matter. My wife's not going to go for you because we are married. She's over you.

Nikolas: You're right. She is.

Zander: But you got poor Lydia, your wife, looking at a lonely future while you pine away for another woman, but it doesn't matter because Emily is my wife. And not you or anybody else is going to come between us.

Nikolas: Well, you better -- better keep her happy, because if you hurt her, I'll wreck you. You keep in mind the one thing Cassadines know is revenge.

Emily's voice: "Suddenly, my arms were around Nikolas, and I was kissing him, and I couldn't stop. My love for him completely, completely overwhelmed me. If the lights hadn't come back on, we would have made love. Oh, my god. How did I let that happen? Secrets and lies destroy a marriage. But how can I tell Zander the truth? It would break his heart."

Lydia: How's everything at the cottage? Did you get the lights back on?

Nikolas: I heard you ran into Zander.

Lydia: I had to find some way to fill the time. You were gone what, two hours at least? That's ten minutes to check the fuse box. What was next? Securing the shutters, fixing the boiler, draining the gutters? Who knew that a Cassadine heir could be so handy around the house.

Nikolas: Meanwhile, you spent your time making Zander paranoid.

Lydia: Zander refuses to see what's right in front of him. I'm a little less naive. Just how close did you and Emily get tonight?

Zander: I'm sorry I took so long. Oh, my gosh, I can't believe you did all this and I took so long. I'm so sorry.

Emily: It's all right. Why'd you have to leave in such a hurry?

Zander: It was Alexis.

Emily: Oh.

Zander: These charges against Ned -- it's just this whole custody thing, it's really messing with her, so she just needed to vent.

Emily: Well, Zander, a lot has happened since you've been gone.

Zander: Yeah, I know. I talked to Lydia.

Emily: She told you I called Nikolas?

Zander: Mm-hmm, and that he came over here.

Emily: Zander, the storm knocked out the power. I tried to call you on your cell, but you left it at home, and it was so dark, and I was getting scared, so I -- I called Nikolas and he came over here to fix the lights, and I never would have called him if I'd been able to reach you.

Zander: Emily, hey, you don't need to explain, okay?

Emily: I just needed help, Zander.

Zander: Emily, I trust you. I know that Nikolas is in love with you, but I trust you completely. You can do whatever you want. I mean that.

Emily: Oh. You know, sometimes, I feel like I don't deserve you.

Zander: Hmm. Right back at you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Emily: Hey, you know what? Come on, come on over here and make yourself comfortable.

Zander: Oh, look at this. You're so sweet.

Emily: Have a seat. And I'm going to have dinner for you ready, okay?

Zander: All right.

Emily: I'll be right back.

Lydia: When I offered you an open marriage -- all the lovers you could possibly want -- you refused.

Nikolas: Emily's not my lover.

Lydia: Just the love of your life.

Nikolas: Lydia, how many times do I have to say this? We went into this arrangement and we knew perfectly well it was a marriage of convenience.

Lydia: Which is why I was surprised when you insisted on fidelity. You said no affairs for either of us. It was a deal-breaker, in fact, you were so sure.

Nikolas: I told you, I'm not having an affair with Emily.

Lydia: What you're doing is almost the same. You've convinced yourself that Emily is the only woman that you'll ever love, while I stand on the sidelines without a chance of ever winning the affection of my own husband. I know that you think that I am shallow and calculating. But I have feelings. I had hoped that we would find our way to companionship, trust, that maybe we'd even love each other. But there is no chance of that. I'm clear on that now. Poor Zander hasn't figured that out yet. He's still insulated in his little bubble of denial. But when he does figure it out, he's going to be devastated.

Nikolas: Emily's not leaving Zander, Lydia.

Lydia: And you're not leaving me. That's right, Nikolas. I am going to fight for this marriage even if I am the only one who's fighting.

Zander: Maybe we should get rid of this cottage. Maybe it was a mistake.

Emily: No, I love it here, Zander. It's beautiful.

Zander: I don't know, it's just so far from everything. If there was an emergency, you know, it would be tough for people to get here.

Emily: No, I love being out in the woods. You know, we have our privacy and just me and you in a world of our own.

Zander: That part I like.

Emily: Then let's stay here. All I care about is being with you. I love you so much.

Zander: I love you, too.
