Justice: Certainly.

Emily: No, I -- I don't want any shortcuts.

Zander: Baby, you sure?

Emily: Absolutely.

Emily: I, Emily, take you, Zander, to be my husband. Finally. I promise to love you for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, as long as we --

Zander: Hey, so far I like it.

Emily: As long as we both shall live.

Justice: By the power vested in me and the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Zander, kiss your bride.

Phone rings.

Jason: Hold on. Hello. Okay, okay, I'll be right there. It's Emily.

Emily: Thank you for -- for being such a -- for being such a dear and true friend to Zander.

Gia: It isn't a hardship, Emily. Zander's a wonderful guy.

Emily: Zander's lucky to have you. And so am I.

Gia: I love you, Em.

Emily: This is going to sound crazy, but I firmly believe that the three of us were -- were a family in another life.

Elizabeth: Em, I know you're -- we know you're trying to say you just love us beyond infinity.

Lucky: We love you the same way.

Nikolas: Congratulations. I know how long you've waited for this day.

Zander: Thank you. I appreciate that.

Nikolas: Yeah.

Emily: Nikolas? Is that you?

Nikolas: Yeah.

Emily: I wish -- I wish there was a -- a special language for a time when words as we know them are -- are completely inadequate. I want to thank you, but I don't -- I don't know how.

Nikolas: You have many times over, Em. Not that you ever really needed to. I'm privileged to be your -- your friend, and I'm honored.

Zander: Well, how you feeling, Em? Time that I kicked these jokers out so we can let you get some rest? It's been a long day.

Elizabeth: Yeah. Zander's right, Em. We are going to let you rest. But, first, we --

Lucky: In lieu of the traditional throwing of rice --

Emily: I love it. I love it. I'm sorry.

Elizabeth: You don't have to apologize, Em. I apologize we've already been here way too long. I love you, Em.

Lucky: Yeah, why don't you just get your rest.

Gia: Be strong, Em.

Zander: They are great, aren't they?

Emily: Only the best friends anyone could ever, ever have. We're very fortunate, you know.

Zander: Yeah. Hey, listen, once we're over this, you're feeling back to yourself, maybe we'll -- we'll throw a party to thank them. Who knows? Maybe we'll even -- we'll even invite our families, if they're good.

Stefan: The charges against me are preposterous.

Alexis: There must have been some compelling evidence or you wouldn't have been arrested. The taped confession must have been very interesting. Not only persuaded the cops, but Nikolas as well.

Cameron: You proud of yourself?

Stefan: This is a private conversation.

Cameron: Oh, forgive me, your grace. Your brother set you up, Alexis. Don't you know that?

Monica: Zander, you paged Dr. Misra?

Zander: Yeah. He's in there examining her right now. It's just that it was an eventful day and I just wanted to be sure, that's all.

Dr. Misra: Excuse me. May I have a word with you?

Elizabeth: I think we should go.

Monica: Sure.

Lucky: Yeah.

Gia: See you, guys.

Lucky: Take care.

Dr. Misra: Emily's fever is up. It might be another infection. As you well know, I've seen plenty of miracles in my years as a doctor never to use the words "no hope." But at this time, as Emily's loved ones, you really should prepare for the worst. I'm sorry. I'll check back with you in a while.

Emily: Mom?

Monica: Hi, sweetheart.

Emily: I can smell your perfume. I think I owe you an apology.

Monica: No. I cannot imagine why.

Emily: I cheated you out of every mother's dream -- to be present at her daughter's wedding.

Monica: Well, every mother dreams of her daughter's happiness, so you didn't cheat me out of anything.

Emily: I love you both so much. You've been -- you've been incredible to me. I came to you as -- as a stranger who just lost her mother, and I never felt more alone, but you scooped me up and you brought me home. And you gave me a family and unconditional love.

Monica: Oh, sweetheart, you've been an unexpected but a very, very precious gift.

Alan: Emily, you are the light of our lives. We love you more than you could ever know.

Emily: Jason. I'm so glad you came.

Emily: I'm so glad I had you in my life. I always wanted a big brother. And I won the lottery with you.

Jason: I feel the same way.

Emily: Thank you, Jase, for always telling me the truth whether I wanted to hear it or not. Thank you for -- thank you for loving me so -- so completely.

Emily: Does Courtney make you happy?

Emily: That's what I want for you, is a great love that lasts and lasts. This is it, Jase. I'm at the rest of my life. Today I promised it to Zander. But when I swore to love him like no other man, I was thinking of Nikolas. Jason, does that make me an awful person?

Jason: No. No, you can't help who you love.

Emily: I'm so afraid for him, Jason. He's in -- he's in a lot of trouble.

Jason: Who is, Nikolas?

Emily: Yeah, there are people out there who want to kill him. Please, please don't let that happen.

Jason: No, no, okay, I'll handle it.

Emily: Yeah, I don't know who they are, and I just need you to --

Jason: I swear to you I'll find out, okay? Nikolas will stay alive.

Emily: Thank you.

Jason: Why don't you get some rest.

Emily: Jason, I don't want to close my eyes. I might not ever wake up. It's okay, Jase. I'm not afraid anymore. I'm just not -- not quite ready.

Jason: Well, you know, people don't end when they die. I mean, no one as good and as brave and full of love could -- could end, Emily. And I'm not sure what heaven is, but I know it's better. And I know it's there. You know, the confusion's going to go away and you're going to finally understand why things happened, you know, what you got from being here and what you gave to all of us.

Emily: I love you, Jase.

Jason: I love you, too.

Emily: Hi, husband.

Zander: Hey, I don't want to interrupt.

Jason: No, that's okay. Emily is just getting tired. I was just leaving. I won't be far, all right?

Monica: What are we going to do without her?

Jason: I don't know, but we're going to have to figure it out.

Monica: Oh, Jason.

Jason: Thank you for giving me my sister.

Monica: Oh.

Emily: Some wedding night, huh?

Zander: It's perfect.

Emily: I'm sorry, but this is the best I can give you.

Zander: Sweetheart, we're together. That's all that matters.

Zander: Before I met you, I didn't believe in real love. I didn't expect it in my life. I didn't even want it. And then I met you. Everything I ever learned about real love I learned from you.

Emily: I loved every moment I had with you, Zander.

Nikolas: Oh. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't be here, but I -- I can't stay away.

Monica: No, hey, Nikolas, it's okay.

Nikolas: I'm not going to intrude or anything, you know. I just -- I need to be as close to her as possible just in case --

Alan: It's okay.

Nikolas: Something happens.

Alan: It's okay. Come on. There's a vacant room right next door. You can go and sit in there for a while. It'll be fine.

Nikolas: Okay, thank you. I appreciate that very much.

Alan: Yeah.

Emily: Can't keep my -- can't keep my eyes open any longer.

Zander: Try, Em, just for a little while, a little while longer.

Jason: God, can you help my little sister? She's afraid to die, but she pretends she isn't. Could you take Emily's fear away and just let her know that, you know, it's okay to stop fighting and let go and that all the people she loves will be all right when she's gone? I'm not sure how. I can't imagine this world without Emily. All I know is that I can't think about that right now. So just please help me make it okay for her to go.

Elizabeth: I was here earlier.

Jason: For the wedding?

Elizabeth: Yeah. It was beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time.

Jason: Yeah, I bet it was.

Elizabeth: I tried to go home. I got about halfway, and then I had to -- I had to turn back around. I just -- I just can't leave. Emily's my best friend, Jason. I don't know how to let her go.

Jason: Look, I know it's hard, but we have to.

Elizabeth: I just can't imagine life without her. Why is this happening?
