October 6, 2003 Screencaps

Stefan: It was all for you, Nikolas. However misguided, however ultimately disastrous, from the day you were born, I have not taken one breath that was not in service to you. Whatever happens, my love for you will never change. Don't forget that.

Luke: Defense of a loved one? It's an acceptable motive. However, it doesn't apply in this case. Summer died because you didn't want Nikolas to marry Emily. Because your self-interest, your high Cassadine-ness was more important than an innocent, young woman's life. The court has heard enough. We have reached a verdict. We find Stefan Cassadine guilty of the attempted murder of Emily Quartermaine, resulting in the death of Summer Halloway.

Alexis: You've made your point, Luke, and then some. This is a warehouse, not a court of law.

Luke: You're wrong. This is Spencer’s court of law. The verdict stands. And now we've reached the penalty phase.

Stefan: This ridiculous spectacle has been a waste of everyone's time. Your kangaroo court has no legal standing, and you're already guilty of kidnapping. Any penalty you try to inflict upon me will only make your situation worse.

Luke: You've been found guilty of murder. You don't get to talk anymore.

Lucky: Cut the feed. Cut the feed. Dad, can't it be enough? You did what you set out to do. You manipulated Stefan into confessing to murder. Don't throw away your victory trying to tag on revenge.

Luke: I've been fighting this murderous vermin since before you were born. Uh-uh. Got a chance now to get him out of my face once and for all, and I'll be damned if that's not what I'm going to do.

Lucky: Let him go.

Alexis: You're going to condone this?

Lucky: It'll be fine.

Nikolas: Look, maybe -- maybe we should be sure. I'm not sorry for what happened here -- it needed to happen -- but Luke shouldn't suffer for it.

Lucky: He won’t.

Alexis: If Luke kills Stefan, he'll ruin his own life.

Lucky: I'd like to think my father is smarter than that. Let him prove it.

Dillon: Hey, does anybody know what I should do with all this stuff?

Nikolas: Just -- just leave it. If Luke manages to avoid a murder charge, he'll be back for it. If not, it won't matter, anyway. Unless the police need it as evidence.

Lucky: What are you trying to say, Nikolas? What, now that my father has nailed Stefan for you, you want to see him prosecuted?

Nikolas: You're the cop.

Lucky: What do you mean by that?

Nikolas: Well, you're the one who barged in here all official, calling a halt to everything. I mean, I don't know. Maybe -- maybe you take your job seriously enough to stick to the law?

Lucky: Let me make myself clear, Nikolas. I don't want my father arrested, prosecuted, or sent to prison. That's half the reason I joined the force.

Zander: See, I don't think Nikolas is in any position to point any fingers.

Emily: All right, why don't you just go.

Dillon: Okay.

Nikolas: You have something to say to me, Zander?

Zander: You're damn right I do. You knew the whole time that your uncle tried to kill Emily. You did nothing -- nothing to protect her.

Lydia: Excuse me? Who's the one that went to the police in the first place? That was Nikolas.

Zander: Right, after you put your life on the line to get the confession on tape. Nikolas didn't lift a finger. If it was up to him, Stefan would have gotten away clean, and for such a noble cause, too -- the future wealth of the Cassadine prince. How does it feel to be justification for a murder?

Emily: All right, stop it, Zander. Nikolas is as much Stefan’s victim as Summer was or I was supposed to be.

Emily: How would you feel if it had been your father admitting to terrible crimes and then claiming he did them because of you, trying to make you responsible for things he did wrong? Because that's exactly what Stefan tried to do to Nikolas, Zander, and it's not only unfair, it's unspeakable. And you jumping on that bandwagon is unacceptable, Zander. You're better than that.

Zander: Do you have a button that just automatically clicks to defend Nikolas?

Emily: All right, uh-uh. Uh-uh, don't you dare try to make this about feelings for Nikolas. It's a matter of right and wrong. Nikolas is not to blame for what Stefan did. Tell me you understand that, Zander.

Zander: I'm sorry, I was out of line .

Nikolas: No, you know what? You know what? I'm the one who's sorry here. I apologize to all of you for the harm that my uncle has caused in my name.

Back at Wyndemere.

Nikolas: What are you doing here?

Stefan: Does it matter to you that Luke didn't manage to kill me?

Nikolas: I meant what I said. I don't care how or if you survive, I just want you out of my life.

Stefan: You know why I did what I did, Nikolas.

Nikolas: Oh, come on.

Stefan: I had no choice. Your life was --

Nikolas: Shut up. I don't want to hear how you had to kill Emily to save me. You have no right to try and kill Emily or anyone else in your life. You'll never understand that, and that is why I'm done with you.

Stefan: No. I know you understand. I saw it in your face.

Nikolas: You saw pity. You destroyed yourself. I don't care if it was to save me. I will not forgive what you've done.

Stefan: Nikolas, you and I are connected by heritage and blood for all time. I know you're angry with me now. You have every right. But on some level, you still love me.

Nikolas: No. I love the man who raised me, the man who taught me, the man who protected me. I love my uncle. But this man -- this man is a stranger and a murderer!

Nikolas leaves.

Stefan: What the devil are you doing here?

Capelli: You owe Lorenzo Alcazar a substantial amount of money.

Stefan: You know, I've been making the interest payments.

Capelli: I understand that. But you tried to strangle Mr. Alcazar. And for that, Mr. Cassadine, you die.

Stefan: Not at your hand!

Gunshots and Stefan screams.
