Emily and Nikolas are continuing to kiss beside the couch. They are kissing a lot and then they pull away.
Emily: I love you so much.
The kissing resumes and Nikolas lifts Emily up and onto the couch. Nikolas and Emily are on the couch when the camera pans to the window and we see Zander watching them. The camera shifts back to close-up views of NikE kissing on the couch, rolling around, Emily's hands tangled in Nikolas' hair. The door opens with a bang and Nikolas and Emily slowly stand up from the couch.
Zander: Please, don't let me stop you. I just want Emily to look me in the face and admit this is what she wanted all along.
Zander confronts Nikolas and Emily in the cottage.
Zander: Say we are over, Emily. How hard can that be for you? Just admit that you have been playing me for months. Or are you going to keep lying to me all the way to the very end.
Emily: All right, how many times can I say that I messed up, Zander. When you wanted to break up, I agreed. And when you changed your mind and you wanted to try again, I backed away from Nikolas. I tried to be fair to both --
Zander: You call this fair? Hooking up with Nikolas in the house we lived in together.
Nikolas sighs and looks pained.
Emily: All right, no matter what I do, I hurt you. And the harder I try not to, the worse --
Zander: No, Emily, you didn't do this for me. You did this for yourself. Because you are selfish, because it all --
Nikolas looks more pained and Emily has tears in her eyes.
Emily: We're done, Zander! I love Nikolas. And I want to be with him. Only him.
Zander: You saved my life. I never got over that, till now. Goodbye, Emily Quartermaine. Go to hell. Take your boyfriend with you.
Zander slams out of the cottage and Emily turns to Nikolas. He is stunned.
Nikolas: Did you mean it?
Emily: Every word.
Nikolas grabs Emily in a huge hug as they breathe huge sighs of relief.
Zander and Elizabeth meet up at Jake's.
A match is struck and Nikolas sans fake hair is holding the lit match in his hands as he lights the fireplace. Emily is standing behind him and he turns and looks at her.
Nikolas: We don't have to do this. We can both agree that tonight didn't work out. Just call each other tomorrow, try to figure things out.
Emily: Is that what you want?
Nikolas: No. I just built a fire -- because -- just to keep me from touching you. And I'm standing on the other side of the room from you because if I get too close I'll just -- I'll kiss you and I won't be able to stop.
Emily: What if I want the same thing?
Nikolas: I love you. And I know you love me. But if -- if we sleep together right now, and you're sorry afterward, it'll crush me. So, if you feel that that may happen, I'd rather just wait than have you regret making love to me.
Elizabeth and Zander share drinks at Jake's and they discuss misuse of a newlywed home. Zander asks Elizabeth if he knew that Emioly would choose Nikolas and Elizabeth says she thought it would be Nikolas. Zander says he thought that too. They both want to move on and Elizabeth wants to get to a place where Ric wouldn't want to come back to her. Elizabeth leans in and kisses Zander.
Nikolas is standing at the fireplace and moves a little closer to Emily.
Nikolas: They say you can't miss what you never had. But I don't really believe that that's true. I missed love my whole life until I had it with you. I feel that it would've been worse if I had' have had love and then lost it. No matter how bad I want you right now, I want a future with you a whole lot more.
Emily: Can't tonight be the beginning of our future?
Nikolas: Yes.
Emily sighs and takes off her wedding ring to Zander. She puts it on the coffee table and walks toward Nikolas.
Emily: I love you, Nikolas. And I want to love you with my soul and with my heart, my body. Every way we can be together.
Nikolas reaches for Emily and they embrace and kiss slowly. They pull away and they are breathing heavily.
Emily: I won't regret tonight. I'll treasure it.
Nikolas nods his head and they kiss again. This leads into their lovemaking montage in front of the fireplace. Emily helps Nikolas take off his shirt and they kiss. The camera pans to Nikolas pushing off Emily's dress and then to them kissing each other's neck. They kiss some more and Emily runs her hands over his bare back and gold necklace. Emily falls back onto the cushions placed at the hearth of the fireplace and she reaches her hand out for Nikolas. Nikolas takes her hand and kisses it before coming over top of Emily. They kiss and she is carressing his bare back and shoulders, her hands running through his hair. He is supporting his upper body weight on his arms as he kisses her neck and she seems to silently gasp and turn her head in supplication as it fades to commercial.
Emily and Nikolas are wrapped in a beige afghan lying on the cushions in front of the fireplace. Nikolas' arms are around Emily and her hand is resting on his chest.
Emily: When you were little, did anyone ever read you fairytales?
Nikolas: Hmm. Most of the time I got Greek myths full of vioelnce and illict love affairs.
Nikolas and Emily kiss.
Emily: Well, the best fairytales are variations on one story.
Nikolas: Mm-hmm.
Emily: There's this girl, and for whatever reason, something's not right on in her life. She's lost a parent, or she's locked in a tower, ro she has to sweep floors.
Nikolas: Hmm.
Emily: And then come the witches and the poisoned apples and sleeping for 100 years. And then after all her mistakes are behind her -- and, trust me, some of these girls may make huge mistakes -- Emily laughs. If she's very, very lucky, the girl gets her Prince.
Nikolas: Well, if you -- if you look at it from the prince's point of view, he's -- he's facing a lifetime of duty and loneliness until -- until there's -- Emily giggles. You know, a spell, a witch, a poisoned apple, whatever, and that's -- then everything changes.
Emily: Yeah.
Nikolas: Everything changes, he remains steadfast and -- and honorable. And also very, very lucky -- prince gets his girl.
Nikolas leans in and kisses Emily and the camera pans back to them kissing.
Zander and Elizabeth have sex at Jake's. They agree that's going to be a one-night stand.
