Before these scenes, Emily was with Zander at the Quartermaines. She made up a lie about having to go to tea to please her Grandmother.
Nikolas has been speaking with Alexis at Wyndemere about the Cassadine family fortune and Stefan.
Emily rushes into the Cassadine drawing room to see Nikolas. She is all flustered and freaking out because she thinks that Zander didn't believe her and may have followed her.
Emily: Okay --
Nikolas: Emily.
Emily: I'm going to say this fast, so pay attention. Zander might be right behind me because I just told him a brutally obvious lie about why I couldn't be with him to make him believe I was coming here to meet you. I know he followed me from home. I'm not sure if he came all the way to this island, but there's a pretty good chance he did. So could I please just hang out with you until he shows up and hopefully finds us doing something romantic?
Nikolas: Is this what you really want?
Emily: I already explained this. I have two choices. I can either drag Zander through the hell of cancer and watch his spirit die piece by piece along with my body, or I can push him away and make him so mad that he finally gives up. I've already made my decision. It is not up for debate. And if Zander walks in here, I really don't want him to see me crying. Please.
Nikolas: Okay.
Emily: Nikolas, you said you would help me.
Nikolas: I will, I will, I will, I will.
Emily: Okay. Well, then, think of something romantic fast.
Nikolas: Oh -- okay. Okay, okay, okay, okay. I don't know, I supposed we could -- we could dance or --
Emily jumps on this and grabs Nikolas' hands, they began to dance.
Emily: Yes. Yes, yes, okay. A waltz, like -- like the Night of the Bacchanalia.
Nikolas: All right. Music or no?
Emily: No, no, it would hurt more.
Nikolas: Okay.
The door opens and Luke comes in, interrupting the dance.
Emily: All right, we're on.
Nikolas: Okay.
Luke: The dance is over. Do I search this moldy pile of rocks, or do you tell me which rafter Stefan is hanging from?
Zander rushes into Kelly's and into Elizabeth who is serving at the counter.
Zander: Is Lucky upstairs?
Elizabeth: Uh-uh. No, he took off with Summer.
Zander: Do you know where he went?
Elizabeth: No. Is something wrong?
Zander: Emily blew me off with this obvious lie and took off to Spoon Island. I followed her there, but the security nailed me and I couldn't check it out. But Lucky knows the tunnels. He knows how I can find her.
Elizabeth: Okay, okay, Zander, first of all, why are you following Emily? If she's going to see Nikolas, it's because they're friends. And second of all, you need to stay as far away from Spoon Island as possible. Start nosing around there and you're going to end up in a world of trouble you don't need.
Nikolas: What makes you think Stefan is here? I haven't heard from him in months.
Luke: Cut the crap. You know he's been at the sanitarium, sniffing around after my wife.
Nikolas: Why would I expect you to listen to reason or even recognize the truth when you hear it?
Luke: What else did he order? Was he in on the hospital switch, the drug therapy? Has he ordered a lobotomy?
Nikolas: You're right, Luke, you're right. My uncle's the big villain here, the source of all my mother's problems. It was Stefan who dragged Laura into hiding and ran her ragged. It was Stefan, evil Stefan who, when Laura broke from reality, refused to get her psychiatric help. It was he -- no, wait. That was you. See, now, that doesn't fit. Stefan must've been pulling your strings.
Luke: You tell Stefan the game is on.
Emily and Nikolas are sitting at a table outside of Kelly's. Emily is eating a huge butterscotch sundae.
Emily: You didn't have to come with me.
Nikolas: I had business in town, anyway. How you feeling?
Emily: So far so good. But I know from experience that the chemo gets worse as you go along.
Nikolas: You'll make it.
Emily: You sound so sure.
Nikolas: I am. You're one of the strongest people I know, Em. And I want you to know that you're not alone, okay?
As they sit there, Zander comes upon them. He seems a little upset.
Zander: Hmm. The tea end early or is Nikolas joining the little group, too?
