GH: Connor is Alive

In a shocking twist, Connor Bishop is revealed to be alive this week on GH -- and his portrayer is Tyler Christopher (Nikolas). "That was definitely a "Whoa!' moment," laughs Christopher, who admints that he had thought about the possibility that the war hero wasn't dead after all. "But I'm really excited to be able to play it."

Connor returns home expecting to reunite with his wife, Mary, and is devastated to discover that she has been killed. 'He doesn't know that she's dead until he comes back to Port Charles," the actor explains. "He wants someone to be accountable for Mary's death, and that's Emily and NIkolas. connor doesn't believe the whole story of Nikolas not knowing who he was, and Mary pretending that Nikolas was Connor. He thinks that Nikolas used Mary for his own benefit."

Christopher is thrilled for the opportunity to tackle a dual role. "It's awesome to be able to step outside of something you do everyday and play somebody else," he shares. "I want people to believe that when Connor and Nikolas are on-screen at the same time, they're watching two different characters."

Of course, it helps that Connor is the opposite of Nikolas in looks and personality. "Connor has lighter hair, lighter eyes and he's definitely battered by the war," Christopher points out. "In terms of personality, he's not anywhere near the book intelligence and worldliness of Nikolas. He's just a guy who made this incredible sacrifice to get back to his wife."

But with Mary dead, Connor will seek revenge. "To find out that his world as he knew it is gone, he really has nothing to live for," his portrayer teases. "He fears absolutely no one and nothing, except being alone."
