With Emily's condition deteriorating rapidly, the two men who lover her -- Zander and Nikolas -- put aside their differences in favor of wallowing in their shared misery over a bottle of whiskey (although not before throwing a few well-aimed punches at one another). Pointing at Nikolas' shiner, Zander slurred, "That black eye is for every page in the longest book in the world that you had to read Emily." Nikolas replied, "That bloody nose is for every time Emily had to explain to me that she loved you too much to make you go through cancer with her." The words were funny because they were true, and they were brought to wonderful life by the talents of Chad Brannon (Zander) and Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) , who made us laugh and cry...simultaneously.
