The FIGHT For GH's Emily

As Emily's health takes a turn for the worse, she finds herself even more torn between Zander and Nikolas this week on General Hospital.

"This is a firl who has fallen in love with two guys, both of whom are strong, courageous, loving and perfect for her in different ways," assets Elizabeth Korte, writer on the GH head writing team. "There is no cut-and-dried decision because whichever way she chooses, someone loses who doesn't deserve to lose, and she loses that relationship with that person."

To complicate matters, Emily's health is deteriorating. When Monica reveals the prognosis to Zander, he heads straight to the bar to drown his sorrows - and runs into Nikolas. Although Nikolas gracefully backed out of his romance with Emily (and even married another woman), Zander decks him anyway.

"Nikolas is noble in the best sense of the word," points out Korte. "His own happiness is secondary to Emily's. But the truth is, he's fighting himself every step of the way. He really does love her, and he can feel that Emily loves him too." By the end of the week, an even bigger health crisis puts Emily's life on the line. She calls out to one man - but who will it be?
