Emily's back in Port Charles, and by all accounts, it looks as if the tortured teen has slipped back into the drug addiction that plagued her life a few years back. But things are not always what they seem. "Emily's a very strong and independent person, and she's trying to deal with a huge secret on her own," shares Emily's portrayer, Natalia Livingston. "She doesn't want to burden the family." As Emily's fainting spells progress, it's impossible for her to keep her secret to herself.
"The stress is really starting to take it toll, and she collapses," Livingston reveals. "Monica finds her in her room and takes her to the hospital." Emily undergoes a battery of tests, which brings the truth to light. "Monica finally discovers what's really going on," shedding some light on why Emily has returned home. "She wants to reunite her family, to get them to stop fighting and hurting one another." With the revelation of Emily's private battle, the Quartermaines will have no choice but to band together.
